Hello friends :-D

Linda - I remember Boro Babs. I didn't know she was ill :-(

Amanda - sounds like Spring has sprung.

Tec - redesigning your garden will be a wonderful project to look forward to. I can well imagine that it will be quite a wrench to leave the house again but it won't be long before you are back home. It's good to hear that the Duchess is happy and settled.

Hi Mersey :-D

I think you are wise to go for the tempory ramp if it means getting home sooner .

It seems as you have already been giving you garden quite a bit of thought :-) old railway sleepers sound perfect for the job and two raised beds certainly sound better than one .....lol A new garden layout will be exciteing :-)

You are right Amanda, it will be difficult to have to leave the house again, having just got in there for the first time in seven weeks. Think I'll put the brakes on the wheelchair and stubbornly refuse to move :-D.
The OT people wanted to install a ramp to go over the step at the front door, but it apparently takes weeks to install a permanent one, whereas a tempory one can be supplied immediately. So I've decided to make do with that for now, and have a proper ramp made during the summer by someone in the village.
I have thought of having a couple of raised beds in the garden made with old railway sleepers that I can get locally.

Hello Tec . it is good to know you will be visiting your house on Thursday , it goes without saying that it will be quite an emotional tug to go back through the door and then to have to leave again but you seem to be coping with the practicalities (sp ) exteamilly well . Hats off you !
If you are going to go for a radical change of the garden , is it possiable to have some sort of raised bed put in ? that way you will still be able to dibble in the soil if you want to ?
I hope it goes well with the OT and that any changes to the house are soon done .

I'm sorry that your friend wasn't so good today Linda, hopefully she will improve soon.
It was good chatting to Sue (Taffy's mum) my neighbour. She was so helpful before I went into hospital, and has been to visit the Duchess several times. She tells me that she seems perfectly happy, and actually looks very well physically.

Mersey I am happy with my progress as it is only just four weeks since the operation, but now I am just desperate to go home, and start living my life again.
I am being taken to my house on Thursday by the OT people to see what needed to make life easier when I go home. It will be a treat just to go through the front door again.

Amanda you seem to have been very busy in the garden. How I envy you :-) but in recent weeks I've been mentally redesigning my garden. It is hard to keep up with as it is, so time for some radical changes :-D. I will get someone in to turn it into low maintenance, which means being ruthless and getting rid of lots of things.

Good evening :-)

Tec , I'm sorry to see that you didn't get to visit the Duchess , I hope the nurse can take you to her soon . Also , I hope your feeling a bit rested after your " big day out " yesterday, at least you enjoyed the views as you where free to look around .
It must have been lovely to see your neighbour today :-)

Linda , sorry to hear your friend is unwell , I hope she is soon on the mend . I do recognise her board name but can't recall if we ever " spoke " .

I managed to get quite a bit done in the garden yesterday . Spring has arrived :-) Snowdrops and crocuses a plenty . I had put 18 pots of flowering bulbs out on the table ( to sell for a £1 each ) but decided to plant them all in my garden instead . It was so much easier than planting dormant bulbs in the Autumn as I managed to do it without skeweing any bulbs that are already in the ground :-0

Today has been a mixture of heavy showers and brilliant sunshine . There was a fantastic rainbow to see on the way home from walking the dogs , I wish I'd had my camera with me :-|

I hope you enjoyed the visit Tec and now have your comfy cushion.

I went to see my friend in hospital, she didn't look very well and seemed confused. I don't think you will remember her from the boards, she used to post a lot in the old days before the big GR split. Her board name is Boro Babs

Hello Mersey,

Hope you've had your lunch by now.

I am still pretty sore after yesterdays exploits. Glad I don't have to see her every day :-)

Hello everyone,

This is a strange time to be on the thread so I don't expect anyone to pop up. I expect you are all sleeping Down Under, or going about your business Up Top.

It is 12-40pm with me, and I have just had my dinner. Lasagne and chips with green beans, and fruit sponge and custard.

I am expecting my next door neighbour this afternoon at visiting time. It will be nice to see her, especially as I don't get any visitors during the week. My daughter visits on Sundays when she comes down to sort the house out ready for me when I'm allowed out.
My neighbour is bringing the cushion that goes with my wheelchair. They sent the wrong one with the chair. It is rather thin, and not very comfortable, especially as having lost so much weight I have no padding, so sitting on my bones isn't nice.

Well I hope your friend is improving in hospital Linda. Speak to you all later.
