Apparently if I drink lots (non alcoholic) that will pump the blood pressure up :-)

I shall go home even if I have to hop :-D

Oh that is lovely Tec, I am so glad that you finally got to see the Duchess.

I hope your blood pressure improves enough for you to go home, although it will probably take longer than that to get all the equipment in place, you know how slowly they move

Hello Mersey Pink Lady :-D

I'm fine, better now that the doc has said I can go home this time next week provided my blood pressure improves. :-D.

Also The Duchess was brought in to see me this afternoon. That was wonderful, and such a nice surprise. She did look well.

Still sunny here. There is a lovely view from this room. I can see the sea, and the hills that go round to Aberystwyth.

The cottage hospital itself was opened in 1920 by "Mrs Lloyd George" there is a stone in the entrance hall marking the occasion.

Did Mrs Lloyd George not have a Christian name ?

The hospital was paid for by public subscription, and is more like a nice old country house than a hospital. There are some lovely old features, like the oak panelling, and a wall of bronze plaques giving the names and donations given through the 1920s and 30s by the local landowners and other wealthy benefactors.

It was feared two years ago that the hospital was to be demolished, which meant that people would have to travel miles to attend the various clinics that are held here.
Then is was announced that the Welsh Health Board are to spend £5million developing the place up to modern standards. Some of it will be demolished to make way for modern facilities.

Snotty I think, unfortunately she caught my cold, but she isn't too bad, unlike her mum who has been really poorly.

In my defence, I was fit and healthy when I went down for her op, some careless southerner must have sneezed on me to make me ill while I was there.

I hope it is sunny in your neck of the woods

Good Morning World,

Lovely sunny day here, looks very inviting. I hope it's nice tomorrow when I get to go home for a little while.

Sylvia I have used railway sleepers before in another garden, and have lined them with heavy duty black plastic sheeting. The type of stuff they use in fish ponds. Sometimes the sleepers are quite clean and will do as they are.

Hi Sue, and everyone

it was a lovely sunny, but very cool, day today (Tuesday)! We got a total of about 12 cm of snow by the end of Monday ......... and most of that was still on the ground by late afternoon today. The sun really wasn't warm enough to melt it all away!

It was a physio day today .................... and I think the physio took great joy in making me squeal several times while he was treating my knee, which had been painful for several days. :-D

Tec ......................... if you are thinking of using railway ties, be aware that creosote may still leach out of them into the soil, and this can poison plants.

It is possible to build the raised bed out of the ties, then to line inside with plastic, so the soil is protected from the wood.

Take care everyone
