Hello Linda - sorry that you are spitting tacks, that must be very painful :-0.

I was told by the nurses the other day that they didn't want me to go :-) It'll be my charm you know :-D. So they may keep me forever.
No seriously, it's that perishing bed that's holding things up.

Mersey Pink Lady, get back here with the fairy dust :-D

Hello Linda - why are you spitting tacks?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 1 Mar 2014 21:38

I know I have to be careful Sue. I was very weak when I arrived here, but have made good progress and put on some weight.
Going home will be the test as to what I can do, but I will be sensible and just do what I feel I can. Basically it will just looking after myself to start with. If I can manage that I'll be pleased with myself. :-)

Hello everyone,

I am spitting tacks - will explain later

So your daughter smacked your wrists did she - good for her. Hopefully it shouldn't be much longer and if you badger them every single day, they will soon get sick of you and get everything arranged

Tec - I well understand your daughter's concern but in the end you know what you are capable of doing. All I can say is be aware of your limitations and don't try to do more than you are able to. Hospital is far different than home where you are obviously going to do more than you have been doing these last weeks.

Awwwww thanks Tec, if you smile I will too :-D :-D :-D ;-)

Well perhaps it will stop raining now Sue, I hope so.

I had a busy afternoon with my visitors. Decided to stay put after a lecture from my daughter :-D. She carefully picked up my toys and put them back in my pram, and told me to behave :-D.

Mersey it is you who makes me laugh :-D

It has for the moment Tec but it rained constantly all yesterday and through the night. So heavy it woke me a couple of times. There has been a few roads closed because of flash flooding.

Hi Mersey :-D

Mersey, your gown leaves much to be desired - by the men, anyway :-0 You are in the pink, but your gown is not.

Best wishes for your escape, Tec. Perhaps when you get home the powers that be will get a move on with getting your bed etc.

Hello everybody else. I will be going out this morning, to a place near the airport to meet up with a relative from Oz. I have met her before, but it is always good to catch up on the latest news. My NZ cuzzy will also be there. Better dash and get in my going-to-town rags.

Hello Mersey,

I do understand that my daughter is concerned about me going home. It is more difficult for her because I will be going home to an empty house, though she and SIL will be there at weekends for a while.
I am confident that I can cope, and will have some help from the Home Care ladies that call.
It seems that the biggest delay is the special bed that the Health Board are supplying. Apparently it has one of those special mattresses that I need in order to keep my leg in good condition.

John - I completely understand your father in law's attitude, although in his case that was a little hasty. So long as he came to no harm :-).
I am going into the eighth week of detention, and just want to get on with whatever it is I have to get on with.

JustJohn Report 1 Mar 2014 15:23

Tec :-) :-) I have not really been following your illness, but it sounds as if you are well on mend and raring to go. Well done.

I was amused because you so remind me of my fil. I was living in Abergele and he was in hospital in Rhyl (aged about 70 at time) having gall stones removed. Not too serious, but in 1980's they seemed to keep you in for weeks. And he was an active and very intelligent man.

Phone call 8am morning after his op. "Pick me up outside hospital now, John". Ex Army sergeant, so I went immediately. There he was, standing on front steps in his pyjamas. "Drive" he said.

On way home, he told me they planned to keep him in for a few days. But he felt ok. "Do they know you have gone?" Just a smile and a wink told me the forms for release of patient had not been filled in. Wife and mil were horrified - but I would have done exactly same.

Tec you are not ranting at all, and even if you were you deserve too, there is nothing wrong with that ........

Do you feel that you could cope?? honestly??

You know yourself the best, and after all you have gone through . Your daughter is just worried about you being able to cope........
