Ages since I got a contact of any kind. Lots of Hot Matches, all with 1 obscure contact

They are so good here. The cook is coming in a bit earlier to do my breakfast as I have to go early, though I asked her not to. Also sending me with packed lunch in case I delayed in Shrewsbury.
I can't imagine that happening in a big hospital

LindainHerriotCountry Report 3 Mar 2014 19:26

sorry, I just got a contact on my tree, which I have replied to. Way off to one side of course

Tecwyn Report 3 Mar 2014 18:35

Well I would simply go up to whoever deals with such matters, and say, with a straight face "Please may I have a new one of these because I microwaved this one"
No explanation - let them work it out :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 3 Mar 2014 18:25

I think the magnetic field in the microwave will have wiped the magnetic strip on OH's card, but as you say they will give him a new one. i would like to see him explain that he microwaved it :-D

Tecwyn Report 3 Mar 2014 18:10

Shame about the gym card, but I'm sure they'll issue a new one. OH isn't crackers, he just had a senior moment while thinking of something else.

A while back I washed my debit card in the washing machine. I had left it in a shirt pocket. It still works :-).

LindainHerriotCountry Report 3 Mar 2014 16:57

I am sorry that you didn't get out, at least you have your trip tomorrow

I have been doing cinema admin this afternoon, so I didn't go out either

I have decided that my OH is crackers :-D He usually brings a couple of pasties back for lunch on Mondays after he goes to the gym and just puts them in the microwave in the paper bag.

So today, I took the bag out when they were hot and there underneath it was his little man purse. He keeps his loose change in it, plus his gym card. He had microwaved it :-0

It was quite hot, but the metal doesn't seem to have damaged the microwave. I doubt that his gym card is going to swipe though

Hello Linda,

Glad the day was nice for you too. Glorious here, well it looked good. I never did get whizzed around the car park. The nurses all looked so busy, and I didn't like to ask.
They don't like you sitting out there on your own. I suppose they are afraid you might run away - yeah right -I should be so lucky.

You friend would have enjoyed her outing with you. I think "normal" things make all the difference when you are ill. Coffee and a chat with a friend in nice surroundings would be a real treat for her. I am sorry that she is so unwell.

Congratulations to your son Carole. I assumeyou have bought him his own car as a surprise birthday present :-D

It is a glorious day here Tec, really warm, about 10 degrees. I didn't even bother with a coat while I was out and about this morning.

I took a friend out for coffee, we went to Betty's for a treat. She is the friend with recurrent cancer and sadly she is starting to look very frail now and is quite muddled at times. It is nice to go out though and it gives her husband a break as well

Hello,

Lovely sunny day here, it looks very inviting out there, but they tell me it's very cold.
After lunch I might ask that if I put my jacket on I could go and sit in the wheelchair outside in the sun.
I can see a big white surf rolling in today.

Tomorrow I have to go to Shrewsbury. My appointment is for 9-30am, so I will have to leave here at 7-30am. At least they have booked an ambulance car, instead of a rattly old ambulance.

Carole - Congratulations to your son for passing his driving test. Well done to him. I'm sure it will be his best birthday present too.
Happy 18th Birthday to him :-).
Yes I would like a piece of cake if there's any left :-D

I don't know much about Methuselah, except that he is a character from the Old Testament. There is a well known saying that someone must be "as old as Methuselar" so I guess he must have been an ancient old guy. A bit like me :-D.
Probably Google would tell you more if you can be bothered.

Hello Sylvia,
It is strange that crackling is not popular in Canada. You would think with so many Brits there that it would have been a custom taken with them.
We have never been keen on pork, so never bought it.

:-)

Hello you mad lot :-D Seriously, who is Methuselah?

My young man passed his driving test, he is now licensed to drive without his nagging mother :-D Its also his 18th birthday today, so its a big day for him.
I'll save you all some of his black Forrest birthday cake, a big piece for Tec if you fancy it :-)

I had to chuckle when you were trying to make a break for it Tec and I'm glad your daughter put her foot down, I would have done the same. Although its good to see you want to get back your independence, good for you :-)

Carole :-)

sleep tight, Tec xxx

We often have pork ........ but we very rarely have crackling

It just isn't part of a pork roast over here :-(

Our butcher offered OH a roast with crackling some months ago ....................... and that was the first we'd had over here!

He hasn't had it since ............... he's an Englishman, and many of his customers are English, so I'm certain he'd sell it if he could get it.
