Linda, strangely the walker moves easier backwards than forwards, so I sort of scoot it along backwards with my leg :-D hoping no one is watching.
It was good to have someone to talk too. The vicar was a barrister for many years, so has interesting conversation.
Sue fetched her old collie in to sit with me while she went shopping this afternoon, he's a nice old dog. I don't think he's seen a human bean on wheels before :-D
Sue, they say that necessity is the mother of invention :-D. It was such a lovely Spring day, too nice to be sat looking out the windows, so I had a lovely hour out in the fresh air and sunshine.
Later the nurse called with the wretched injection :-0 She'll be back tomorrow.
So I had a busy day really :-)

Hello everyone :-)
Sylvia - my daughter is 40 this year :-0 hope all is ok with your OH.
Tec - you are getting very inventive. Take care :-|
Linda - how annoying. There is no rhyme or reason to this kind of vandalism.
The images of the mudslide are horrible - those poor people. Our news program showed an aerial view of the area and the devastation was incredible.
We are continuing to have sunny mornings and heavy rain and thunderstorms through the afternoon and evening. I have had to cover some of my plants to protect them and any summer blooms are gone as well as OH's tomatoes, cucumbers and broad beans :-(

Well done at getting out Tec, but do be careful the walker doesn't move backwards.
It is nice that the vicar called in, at least it is someone to talk to.
It was youngsters who did the damage, apparently the chap who shares the allotment with us saw them. I don't know where he was because OH hasn't seen him yet

Hello :-)
Sylvia, I agree that garage costs are ridiculous, but what are we to do? we either pay up, or don't, then walk or catch the bus. The Washington land slide is horrendous, and I feel very sorry for everyone involved.
Linda, why would anyone vandalise a greenhouse? mindless morons. Are you sure it's vandalism, and not freak weather? Although you did say that your OH was there not long before :-(
Today I progressed into the front garden :-D. I heaved that walker with the seat out of the back porch, then pushing it in front of me along the hall, while in the wheelchair, I manipulated it over the two steps, with the seat facing me. Then holding on to the handrails I turned to sit in the seat. I have a palm tree in the garden that was looking very sorry for itself with lots of dead sword like leaves hanging down. I normally remove these during the winter months. Anyway, I managed to get them all off the tree, and it looks as if somebody cares again. A bit like me after my recent haircut :-D.
The Vicar visited again, and spent an hour chatting. Not about God :-) Maybe he thinks I need saving :-) Very nice chap though.

Hello Sylvia
I have seen the landslide on TV, it does look dreadful
Our car had to have it's annual MOT test today, it had nothing wrong with it thank goodness, it had it's service at the same time, so that was £162 all in. They charge a ridiculous amount for oil and filters etc.
OH has come back and annoyingly it is one of the large panes which has been broken. He will get three smaller pieces and overlap them to replace it. The other greenhouse has been damaged as well. It is very annoying but it is the first problem we have had.
I hope your OH is OK Sylvia, my brother had a similar procedure a couple of weeks ago.
Don't worry, you look more like your daughters sister than her mother :-D :-D

Hi Sue, and everyone
The weather is not as nice today as it has been ............... rain, drizzle, some sun ........ in other words, you name it, we've had it this morning :-(
Linda .............. I do hope that there has not been too much damage done at the allotment.
OH had a colonoscopy on last Thursday ........... they found 3 sessile polyps (ie, they didn't have stalks), and removed them .......... but that causes more scarring of the colon wall, so he was on a soft food diet for the rest of Thursday and Friday.
He has to go back for another one in 3 months, on July 3rd
We had great fun at the Opera Ball on Saturday evening ................. one of the major fund raisers for the student programme at the university where he volunteers so often.
....... but my knee didn't like the chairs. So I'm back to being Limpy Lou, as we always call it :-(
Though Hopalong Cassidy has also been said about me :-)
Isn't it terrible about the landslide in Washington State? ....... it's not that far from here, less than 2 hours drive, and we have much the same sort of terrain in many areas.
They're saying there could be as many as 170 people missing :-(
Daughter was 40 yesterday
where did the years go :-O
I don't feel that old :-D
The sale of the property has crossed its next hurdle ....... the writing up and acceptance of the mortgage, which we are carrying for the next 2 years. We have to go and sign some more papers at the Notary later today.
Closure is this Thursday
OH had to take the car in to the garage for work to be done this morning ................... it'll take at least 2 days, and the bill will be around $2,000 (or a bit less than £1,000), but it has to be done, so "bite the bullet" :-(
take care everyone
s xx

Grr, OH has just gone down to the allotment in the dark because it seems vandals have been in and smashed one of out greenhouse windows.
He was only there late this afternoon and everything was fine. It is odd because our allotment is tucked away as far from the gate as you can possibly be. Also our greenhouse is almost hidden at the back of our plot. The other half of the allotment which we share has a much bigger greenhouse further forward,so I don't know if that is damaged as well. I don't know what they have broken, but some of the panes are very large.

Sue it is fairly safe. There are two steps down into the porch.
I have a sort of walker that was my mothers, it has a seat. so placing the walker facing the steps, I can stand up and holding onto a hand rail, hop down one step, turn round and sit down in the walker, then wheel myself to the washing machine.
Where there's a will, there's a way - or some b*gger waiting :-D
