That is a good idea Tec, you don't want a wet bum :-D :-D

Hello Amanda,

The polytunnel is a brilliant idea. A neighbour had one nearby. It was amazing what he grew in his. He specialised in fuchia cuttings every year, raising several hundred, and selling them at the gate.
His tomatoes and cucumbers were the best I've seen.

I do have a garden tap, and hosepipe. That will be very useful to me, as I won't be able to carry a watering can.
I am putting an ad in the village shop for another wheelchair to use in the garden. I can keep it by the porch door, making a waterproof cover for it :-D

OH renovated the allotment the other day, but it is too early to put anything out yet. He hasn't started growing anything yet. He will start everything this week. There is still time for it to snow yet

I hope you can keep warm tomorrow Tec, it is a nuisance, but having the wires replaced is better than having them fail.

When we were at my sisters last weekend, I couldn't believe all the damage to the trees round there. She kept talking about the great storm, something we never had

Good evening Linda and Tec :-)

Linda , we have invested in a polytunnel this year , so are started the seeds off at home , getting them into the tunnel to grow on and from there , into the open ground . I can't believe the heat that wafts out when you unzip the tunnel :-0

I've " jumped the gun " and planted out my sweet pea plants today , I hope we don't get any more frosts !
I'm sure your OH will soon be able to get going on your plot .

Hello Tec :-) I hope your dry pots enjoyed the torrential rain , saves you trying to lug a watering can ! Have you got a hosepipe fitted in your garden ? That is always my favorite job in the garden . I was so happy when my OH fitted a hose with an outside tap , the watering cans used to kill my back :-(
I hope you electric isn't off for to long tomorrow , perhaps you can make a flask of coffee ? save you messing about with pans of boiling water :-S

Hello Everyone, :-)

I see that Amanda and Linda's OH have got Spring fever, out on the allotments digging and planting. March has been unusually mild and dry, I hope it continues into April, although rain is here today.
I noticed yesterday during my venture into the garden that the soil was dry. The pots were bone dry.
Today we had a huge thunderstorm, torrential rain and hailstones. The power went off for a short time.

Tomorrow the power will be off for six hours, from 9am till 3pm. I think the electric company are replacing cables, as some were damaged in the storm in February. Luckily I have a gas cooker, so can boil water for coffee and tea.
If it's cold I can light the fire as the heating will be off.

Hello everyone :-D

Tec , I'm pleased to see you have managed to get out into your garden , I won't " tut tut " but will add my voice to the " be careful chorus " :-)

I've been very busy in my garden and on the allotments . Spring has certainly sprung here in Norfolk . I know I'm running a risk , planting stuff out so early but " who dares wins ..... lol ".

I hope all the Mums had a lovely Mothers Day :-)

Nice to see you posting Diane and Persie , I hope your both keeping well <3

I'll pop back later to see if anyone is around .

No Linda - we've had enough sun and rain for the grass to keep growing. It doesn't usually slow down until May.
