Linda is very refined :-D

I like unusual plants whether they flower or not. My collection of succulents has a few odd plants.

We are in for a hot humid day - ridiculous at this time of year.

Hello :-)

I consider myself well and truely told off and tut tuted at for posting so late the other night :-(

Well I'v had a busy and disappointing day and feel mentally and physically exhausted, I lost my appeal for ESA ( Employment Support Allowance ) which means as far as they are concerned I am fit for work.

Linda I'm glad you enjoyed your day out at Whitby, it has been a loevly warm sunny day here and wish I'd been at the seaside like you :-)

Tec any new's on the ramp being done, please take care if you venture out into the back garden again :-)

Sue please pass on my best wishes to your OH for his op on friday.

Sylvia, great to hear the sale for the cabin has gone through and I hope you don't have any problem's with any of the post dated cheque's.

Hi Mersey, did you make the best of the sunshine today ? :-)

~~~~~~~ to all who pop in later <3
Oh, I can recognise it, I just steer clear of it
There were lots of people scouring the uncovered beach today, hoping to find treasures I assume
It is good that your electricity came back on before it got dark
Tecwyn Report 1 Apr 2014 22:02
Hello Linda - surely they taught you to recognise vulgarity when you see it? :-D
Tecwyn
Tecwyn Report 1 Apr 2014 22:00
I think it is where I have seen the begonias en-masse that puts me off.
I prefer small flowers with interesting shapes, and I like all white flowers, they show up and look amazing in the garden at dusk on a summer evening.
There was a lady who grew an entirely white garden. I can't remember her name, but it's a famous garden, and open to the public.
The power was off here from 9am till 4pm today. A bit of a nuisance, but better they repair the cables than suffer power cuts in the winter.
I wouldn't know about vulgar things, being so refined :-D :-D :-D
SueMaid
SueMaid Report 1 Apr 2014 21:49
Hello Tec :-)
I have a pot of the begonias with the big showy flowers although the rain has damaged them. One pot is ok but I don't think I would like them en masse. We've been to garden shows where there were whole areas dedicated to them and they are overwhelming. Yes - I think some flowers are vulgar.
I'm going to make coffee now :-)
Tecwyn Report 1 Apr 2014 21:42
Hello Everyone, :-)
Apparently, only the cleanest houses have cob webs, so I've been told :-)
Linda shame that Whitby was shrouded in sea mist. We get that here sometimes, and often it doesn't clear all day.
I find those very exceptional low tides a bit spooky. They are of course always counteracted by a very high tide. All to do with the phase and pull of the moon. :-)
Sue, I find the begonias with the small flowers quite attractive, but dislike those big brash colourful ones. The man opposite me specialises in them, and his garden is ablaze of many colours, but I find them rather vulgar.
Can you have vulgar flowers? :-D
Sylvia - The completion of the sale of the cabin must be very satisfying. A stroke of luck there :-)
Hello Mersey - I did have a good day thank you :-)
Hello everyone :-D
It's good that the business with the cabin is all sorted now, Sylvia :-)
Nothing much on today - I'm trying to get OH to relax before his op on Friday. That's a lost cause :-(
I do not have cobwebs, Linda :-|
LindainHerriotCountry Report 1 Apr 2014 21:05
I have come back from the cinema a bit early as there was nothing more to do until the end of the film, Oh is still there
Hi Sue, and everyone
Linbda ......... I lvoe Whitby! But Scarborough was where I spent my childhood holidays :-)
Amanda ........... the theory re tomato blight her is the same as your OH ........... splash up from the soil. But there is also a belief that the spores may also be carried in rain drops from elsewhere.
The usual advice here is to grow tomatoes under a top cover, preferably hard but clear ...................... with all 4 sides open to allow free circulation of air.
Physio day today ............... hope he can help my knee
It's a lovely sunny day
Everything to do with the cabin is now finished ............ we picked up 24 post-dated cheques from the Notary yesterday. Now all we have to do is remember to deposit the relevant one on the right day each month :-)
take care everyone
Well we went to the seaside, or at least I think so. It was incredibly foggy so hard to see. When it did clear up a bit, the tide was out and it was amazingly low, in all the years I have been going there,i have never seen it so far out. even OH's sister who only lives down the coast at Filey was amazed by it.
We had a nice day with them and of course had the obligatory fish and chips, I still feel full.
We have cinema duty tonight,so I won't be around until later on
