Lol Tec :-D

Well I think I will have an early night I feel really tired after today.

Good night Linda and Tec <3

Enjoy your day Sue and any other down-unders who pop in <3

Was jet jewellery worn when a person was in mourning? I thought I read that somewhere. I remember someone on Antiques Roadshow bringing in a necklace and brooch - she was amazed at how much they were worth.

Our posts must have crossed Diane :-)

Wow Tec over a hundred years old, most jet jewellery was made for funeral wear many years ago, I like small jet set in a piece of jewellery but not keen on pieces that are just jet.

Tecwyn Report 1 Apr 2014 22:39

Jet was very fashionable in Victorian/Edwardian times, but you don't often see it worn today, especially the heavy necklaces.

That necklace will be worth a lot Tec, the old pieces are very expensive

Diane I just wanted to make sure somebody read it :-D

I saw a lot of jet jewellery in Whitby - it is very expensive but I don't really like it. I bought a little glass snail from one of the shops :-)

The Duchess has a beautiful jet necklace that was her grandmother's. We have a photo of her wearing it about 1910. Each bead has eight sides, but it is a bit too junky to wear these days.

Tec have you got a twitch, you have 3 post :-D

Thank you Sue, I'v have already posted why office work would be a problem even though I wouldn't mind doing it.
My other problem is getting to a job with my annoying fear of going out :-(

They still make jet jewellery there are several shops selling it. It is very expensive

Yes Tec I am disappointed :-(
When I was there today there was a lady there who obviously had cancer and to be there Atos must have found her fit for work at her assessment so that says it all doesn't it :-|

I hope it isn't to long before you get the ramp done as it would be a help to have it in place for summer.

I do know that Linda is refined - they even allowed her to walk on the same carpet as Her Majesty :-D

Hello Diane - that's disappointing for you :-(. As Linda said - office work may be the go.

Sounds like you had a nice day in Whitby Linda despite the fog.

Diane - OH said thank you for your best wishes :-)

Linda I think the appeal is the end of the line but I am going to ring my last DWP adviser tomorrow as she said if I lost the appeal I was to get in touch with her so she could help me as much as she could.
I don't have any qualification's to get an office job as most want English and math's qualifications and I don't have any, they also like you to have a good knowledge of excel and other IT and I don't have them either :-(

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 1 Apr 2014 22:21

Sue I have a really good book on succulents, but it is rather heavy, or I would send it to you.

Linda do they still find bits of jet at Whitby?

Hello Diane, Sorry to see that you lost your appeal, you must be disappointed, but I understand that you need to be practically dead to win those appeals. :-(
No news on the ramps yet, it all takes time.
I have a man in the village coming to have a look this week, though I know he has lots of work on.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 1 Apr 2014 22:15

Just lie in the shade and get your OH to fan you Sue, he can do that sitting down and it will give him something to do :-D

Hello Diane, Is the appeal the end of the line? Can you go after office work rather than what you have been doing?
