I know Linda :-(

I think that as much as the physical adjustments there must be the mental and emotional adjustments too Tec. I'm sure it will take time to come to terms with your new life.

Tecwyn Report 2 Apr 2014 22:46

It would be good to get out, but I am happy enough in the house at the moment, quietly coming to terms with the new situation.

I will feel differently about things soon. I wish that I could get the Duchess's scooter out of the house. I wouldn't mind going about on that, irrational though that may seem.

Another man and his pride :-(

SueMaid Report 2 Apr 2014 22:43

OH doesn't like using a walking stick and has absolutely refused my suggestion that he use a walker for a short while after his op.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Apr 2014 22:39

Oh dear pride indeed. I remember mum had a hard time with letting me push her in a wheel chair, but she really couldn't walk far because of her angina. She soon realised that we could cover far more ground and it was no problem for me pushing her, so we could get out and she enjoyed herself.

swallow your pride and get out of the house whenever you can

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 2 Apr 2014 22:34

If they are only staying Saturday, as I expect, there probably won't be any time to take me out.
I will have another outing on 16th April as I have an appointment at the surgeons clinic at Shrewsbury.

I am not ready yet to be seen being pushed around the village - silly pride I know :-(

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Apr 2014 22:28

You can still go for a walk with her Tec, she can push you round the village at death defying speeds :-D :-D

I hope you are going to take the opportunity to get out while they are there

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 2 Apr 2014 22:23

Yes Linda, the romance is still going strong :-D

Sue they will visit the Duchess on Saturday - I know that she will be so pleased to see grand daughter.
She must wonder what has happened to her grand parents since she last saw us.
It is sad for her really.

SueMaid Report 2 Apr 2014 22:18

Such changes for your family Tec. Will they visit the Duchess?

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Apr 2014 22:18

I am back, having spoken to my sister for a record short time

Is your granddaughter still courting Tec?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 2 Apr 2014 22:13

Yes Sue - last time grand daughter saw me I was very ill, and looked dreadful, also in a lot of pain. So at least she will be spared seeing that.
She is an intelligent girl, and I think is able to face things head on as it were.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 2 Apr 2014 22:09

I don't mind spoiling him, Tec.......as long as he doesn't push it :-D

Perhaps your daughter has prepared your granddaughter before she visits but you will be looking so much better than you did at Christmas so it will be good for her to see you.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 2 Apr 2014 22:01

I am sure that your OH will be expecting to be spoiled after his op Sue. :-D Seriously I hope it puts things right for him.

Yes it will be nice to see them. I haven't seen grand daughter since Christmas.
I don't know how she will take me with one leg. I hope it doesn't upset her.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Apr 2014 22:01

Goodness Sue, I think you should devote all of your time to fetching and carrying for him :-0

It will be nice to have all the family around you Tec. It is very nice of the shop lady to bring you things. Hopefully soon you will be able to get round the village on your scooter

I need to make a phone call, back soon

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 2 Apr 2014 21:53

Yes Linda - he is prepared :-) but am I? Peeled grapes :-0. I don't think so.

It will be nice to see your family on the weekend Tec :-)

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 2 Apr 2014 21:47

I haven't needed enough for a grocery delivery yet. There was so much left here.
What few bits I have needed the lady that runs the village shop brings me if I phone her.
My daughter, SIL, and grand daughter are coming on Friday evening, so my daughter will do a shop on Saturday.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Apr 2014 21:44

Have you tried a grocery delivery yet, or are you still eating all the things your daughter left?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 2 Apr 2014 21:41

I have corrected it Linda :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Apr 2014 21:40

LOL Tec, your last post doesn't read correctly

It is a good idea to have a key safe in case, they do need to get in if you were ill

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 2 Apr 2014 21:38

I'm not keen on strangers letting themselves into the house Sue. The key safe is really only their for emergencies. That lady was out of order just letting herself in without even ringing the bell.
I made it obvious that I wasn't very pleased. She hadn't been here before. The lady that normally calls is very nice.
