Tecwyn Report 6 Apr 2014 21:30

Hello, :-)

It's been a dull wet day here, but the sun did appear, just before sunset.

I enjoyed the visit, albeit brief, from my daughter,SIL, and grand daughter. Grand daughter seems to have matured since she went to Uni, and is a lovely young lady.

Today I spent catching up on paperwork - such a bore.

I forgot to add that there is a heavy fog here in the hills and valley this morning. I hope I can find my way to town later. I wonder if the royal plane will have problems landing in Wellington?

I was helping at a garage sale at our shop yesterday. It was held out in the parking area. The sun was very hot. While I did have sunglasses and a sunhat, I came home with a bit of a headache. I still have it this morning. I am on duty in the shop this afternoon so will take some panadol tablets with me.

Oh thank you Mersey, that is a nice breakfast, good to see you taking your duties seriously while Tec has visitors

Oh dear Berona, you arrived just as i posted goodnight so I missed you. never mind,as you say it doesn't matter when we post because we read things eventually and catch up. I have had a very lazy morning and so it is nearly lunchtime before I have looked in

I am not sure I should associate with you in that case :-0

I am off to bed now. Enjoy running after your OH, don't let him do too much too soon

Berona

Berona Report 5 Apr 2014 23:41

I tried to get here earlier, but I suppose you have all retired to bed now. Sorry I haven't had more time with you in these past six months, but the BP medication my doc put me on last year, makes me sleep heavier than I did before and I've found that I can't get here as early as I would like......and now, we are back to standard time again! Oh well, I can only try. I still read all the posts and say my piece - even if you are all asleep by the time I do it!

I turned up some news of one of my 3 x great grandfather. He was a terror. There are several items about him.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Apr 2014 23:18

No he didn't Sue, it is interesting the things you turn up, sad for the little girl of course The family had an unusual surname,so it is easy to turn up results, especially as the were publicans

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 5 Apr 2014 23:14

You're right Linda - I should :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Apr 2014 23:10

Well, you should take your responsibilities to the thread seriously and get up earlier :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 5 Apr 2014 23:09

Linda that is a very sad story - the horrid man probably continued to offend. Did your OH know about this before you found the newspaper story?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 5 Apr 2014 23:07

Hello ladies :-)

OH slept very well last night and is feeling much better this morning. He even made coffee this morning -well he tried to. I had to finish the job :-D

We turned our clocks back last night. Less time for chatting :-(

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Apr 2014 22:57

Thank you Mersey, slightly late -well several hours late, but never mind

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Apr 2014 22:55

I have been looking at the new newspapers on Find my Past. I hate the new site, I can't find half the census results even though I already have them

Anyway I found mention of a couple of OH's family. The saddest one was about his grandmother and was entitled "Indecent Assault on a Little Girl"
Her father ran a pub It was a long report but part of it was

The charge was reduced to one of common assault and Lord Auckland on sentencing prisoner said anything more filthy and disgusting than the conduct of the prisoner he could not imagine. The magistrates were unanimous in passing upon the prisoner the full penalty of two months with hard labour The verdict appeared to give the utmost satisfaction to the crowded court

That doesn't seem much for what he did.The person who did it had been acquitted of a similar charge two years before on a different girl

How is your OH?

Wow Linda - you have been a busy girl :-0

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Apr 2014 16:31

Mersey, you are sacked as chief coffee fetcher :-|

I had no choice but to soldier on and wash down all the doors, so now I am doubly shattered :-(

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Apr 2014 15:04

Mersey, I am in need of coffee.

I am shattered, I have just been round the whole house and washed all the skirting boards, bannisters and door frames. You can run your fingers along the. tops of the frames and you won't find a speck of dust. I even moved all the beds and furniture forward.

I just need to wash all of the doors now I have jus had a count and there are twelve internal doors, with two sides each of course, plus two external doors, so I might leave. them until tomorrow.
