You will have to get some help to make the garden low maintenance. Raised garden beds perhaps?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 13 Apr 2014 22:58

The goat would demolish everything I suspect :-D

My garden will be full of weeds, with the warm sunshine and rain. I haven't been out there since my first venture, but there's nothing I can do about it.
This was going to be the year that I made big changes in the garden, but that's not going to happen now, as it should have been done before everything started growing again.

SueMaid Report 13 Apr 2014 22:53

I shouldn't think so. I could let the goat I there and all will be gone in a short while :-D. I did find some radishes and one beetroot :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 13 Apr 2014 22:48

No I don't think he was shocked :-D he just looked confused :-)

Shame about the weeds in the veggie patch, but plenty of time to shift them. They are not likely to seed with winter fast approaching are they? or are they?

SueMaid Report 13 Apr 2014 22:44

Oh dear - and was he shocked to find you were looking after yourself? :-D

I managed to get out in the garden yesterday and do a little tidying up. OH hobbled to his vegetable garden. I thought he was going to cry - it is overgrown with weeds because of the rain. I had pulled out his cucumber vines and corn plants but it was still very messy :-(

I think their mother will have told them what to expect before they arrived.

The only question was where was the Duchess, I told them that she had to go away for a while, so the eldest boy 10, then asked so who was looking after me :-)

What a wonderful surprise, Tec :-D were the children aware beforehand of your operation? It's a wonder you didn't get a barrage of questions. If it was Joel he would have asked what the hospital did with your leg :-D

Tecwyn Report 13 Apr 2014 22:27

Good Morning Sue,

I should think Linda will return rather tired :-D

The mum, and three of my mini fan club who used to live nearby paid me a surprise visit this morning. That really made my day. The children have grown in the short time they have been gone.
They enjoy their new lives, but don't have the freedom to roam that they had here, as they now live in a busy town, and only go out with mum, but this is compensated by all the activities available that are not here.

I was a bit concerned at how the children would take me in a wheelchair with only one leg, but after the initial nervous stares, they seemed to ignore it.

I have to agree Tec - I'm exhausted just reading what you have done today, Linda :-0
Berlin sounds like a fascinating city.

Sunshine yesterday afternoon and this morning. We sat outside and enjoyed the warmth although it is now getting quite cool in the evenings.

Tecwyn Report 13 Apr 2014 21:16

That all sounds tremendously interesting Linda, but I don't know where you get all that energy from :-)

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 13 Apr 2014 18:50

Now that was very interesting and free :-(

You can't just turn up, you have to register beforehand on line complete with passport number so they can check you out.

Only the facade of the old building stands, every thing behind is designed by the English architect Norman Foster. The huge glass dome is at the centre. The visit is to the dome, you wind your way up a spiral ramp to the top and another one back down, the views over the city are tremendous. You have a headset to point everything out and about the building and the parliament of course

We didn't have lunch until 3pm, so we have come back for another rest and will have dinner later, we are turning all continental :-(

Thank you for the bacon buttie Mersey, foreign bacon is that awful streaky stuff

We have had a busy day today. We started out at a place right next to the hotel called The Palace of Tears. It is actually joined onto the station and was one of the major checkpoints in the time of the wall. It was where people from the West were allowed to cross into the east to visit family. The exhibition was very good, but sad at the same time because it was where families had to leave each other, hence the tears.

We then walked to the main cathedral and paid our pensioners rates to get in. It was worth it because car well as the main church which was impressive, you got to go into the crypt, the all the way to the top of the huge central dome. The views from the outside were worth the effort. I am just amazed that I made it to the top with out a major heart attack.

WE have come back for a rest before we go out again. We have tickets to visit the dome of the Reichstag I am praying there is a lift

Tec - that will be great if you can continue to drive. Of course, you won't want to go out so often, and I hope you will learn to get in and out of the car with ease - also, if you take your wheelchair, you will need to learn how to manipulate all that. Take your time learning. When I stopped going out so often, my big problem was keeping the car battery alive!

Linda - very remiss of me. I didn't know it was your birthday. Lots of greetings to you and hope that you are enjoying the stay.

Goodnight Tec <3

Tecwyn Report 12 Apr 2014 23:11

Good that he can drive, though I can understand getting in and out is difficult, and he is a big man.

It will be so good if I am allowed to drive again, especially living in this rural area. I hate having to depend on other people to take me anywhere, although mainly since I came home it has been hospital transport.

Well I must go to bed.

Enjoy your day Sue, don't be busy :-)

Goodnight,
Tec :-)

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 12 Apr 2014 23:06

The spelling isn't that bad Tec :-D

What a difference it will make if you can keep your licence. Independence!!! With your GP backing you up there shouldn't be a problem. OH can't walk very far at the moment but he is driving without a problem other than getting in and out of the car :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Apr 2014 23:00

It is wonderful that their stepfather takes time to explain things like that - how many do I wonder? There is so much predudice in the world, due to ignorance. If only youngsters were taught the customs of other races the world would be a better place.

I am having a very bad spelling session here :-( the brain is also tired :-D

I had a letter today from the driving licence authority to say that they are writing to my GP, and surgeon to see if there is any reason I shouldn't continue driving.
This is good news, as at least they are making enquiries, and not dismissing my application, as I feared might happen.
My GP has already said that she will support me if contacted. :-)
