Hello Sylvia and Tec.

I remember that you did put up a picture of the cherry blossom perhaps last spring, Sylvia.

Hi Tec

We have a dark pink cherry form planted on both sides of the street by the side of our house.

The block north of us has a paler pink form planted on both sides, and they flower about 2 weeks before the darker ones ................ so we get a succession of flowering!

Vancouver has something like 34,000 cherry trees planted along streets and in parks and public gardens. That doesn't count the ones planted in private gardens. It's glorious in spring.

BUT, as you say, the flowers don't last long!

I should put up my photo again of spring 2 years ago :-)

Good Afternoon Sylvia,

The cherry trees planted all around the village school are in blossom now. They look fantastic, but unfortunately never seem to last long, especially if we have a spell of rough weather - beautiful while the do last, a real touch of Spring.

Linda ...........

......... do you really have a problem with cherry pollen???

The pollen of fruit trees are rarely allergy-causers.

The pollen is large and sticky, and doesn't really blow around. Pollination is by insects, usually bees.

It's another lovely sunny day, with a slight breeze.

take care everyone

Goodnight Diane, sleep well

I am turning in as well. I get the train at quarter to five, but it will be about eight fifteen before I get there as I have to go across London. I will have my tablet with me, so I will be online

It is difficult Sue, because something simple like moving a bag of compost becomes impossible, whereas we take these things for granted normally.
I will get used to it - just an impatient old fool :-D

Well I am off to bed now. Got visitors tomorrow. my brother is coming to know a small wall down on the backyard. I will have to sit and watch.

Enjoy your day Sue,

Sleep well Linda, and Diane,

Take care in London Linda - cwtches to Eve and Esme,

Goodnight,
Tec :-)

I can only imagine how difficult it must be knowing that there are things to be done Tec and not having the energy to do them.

Sorry Diane - I meant to say that I'm pleased for you that your Aunt and Uncle are now together.
