Hello friends :-)

Tec - sorry I disappeared yesterday. The internet dropped out and by the time it came back on you had of course gone to bed.

I'm very pleased that you have the ramp sorted now - it will make life so much easier.

Linda - I'm sure Esme will settle as she gets more used to you being around.

You won't need your BBQ cover now, maybe you should get a BBQ so you can make use of it

Tecwyn Report 30 Apr 2014 21:54

Yes it does have a reverse facility - even beeps like a commercial vehicle :-D but you can hardly hear it.

I could back it out if I wanted

LindainHerriotCountry Report 30 Apr 2014 21:51

That was a clever idea :-D,,

Does it have a reverse gear, you could just go out backwards :-D

Tecwyn Report 30 Apr 2014 21:46

I rode the scooter out of the back yard - round the corner, and up the ramp into the house - easy. :-)

I can, with difficulty, turn it round, park it under the stairs ready to go out through the front door again.
I may go out on it tomorrow :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 30 Apr 2014 21:42

I am pleased about the ramp. Did you get someone to bring the scooter back in for you? I hope so because you tired yourself out getting it out there

Tecwyn Report 30 Apr 2014 21:29

Hello Linda, :-)

Pleased to hear that Esme was a bit better today. I'm sure she will improve and accept you, the more she sees of you. Then half the battle will be won.

The ramp is excellent, and has exceeded my expectations. I can now glide through the front door, and onto level ground. :-D :-D
I can also use the mobility scooter, through the front door. It can live under the stairs. Much easier than struggling to get it out the back way.

Unfortunately, the man who was delivering the fishtank is unwell, so that has been re scheduled for next week now.

I hope that the ramp installation went well Tec and you are pleased with it

I don't suppose you have fish in your tank yet, unless you used chemical to clear the chlorine from the water

Esme seemed more settled today, or at least this morning. She is a different baby as soon as her mum gets home, placid and content. Pity she isn't like that when her dad or I are looking after her..

Sue I hope Drew enjoyed his sleepover with his grand parent's :-)

Good Morning Berona,

It's good to have neighbours that help each other.

I have always cut the hedge for the elderly lady that lives the other side. I won't be able to do that now of course. She has a son in his 50s, who has never cut that hedge, and does nothing to help her :-0 but he may have to see to the hedge now.

One of the shop keepers in the local town, 10 miles away, called on me today. I was a regular in his shop, but not since before Christmas. Someone had mentioned to him what had become of me, and he took a trip out here to see me today. I thought that was very nice of him - I was after all, just another customer :-)

We have good neighbours except for one couple - it's always good to be able to rely on them should help be needed. One next door neighbour is on her own and OH trims all her shrubs as she finds that difficult while the fellow on the other side cuts her back lawn. Because OH has been unable to trim the shrubs this time the other neighbour did that job.

I am so looking forward to the ramp Sue. I hope it doesn't spoil the appearance of the house too much, but that can't be helped.

The fish tank is going in what is now my bedroom, so I can lie in bed watching them :-D
My neighbour is very kind to me. She pops in most days for a few minutes, sometimes stops for coffee, and Milo his biscuit.
I can always rely on her if I need help, but would never take advantage of that.

Goodnight Linda - hope you sleep well <3

A busy day indeed Tec but a good one. The ramp will make all the difference and the fish tank will be nice and relaxing once your lovely neighbour sets it up.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 29 Apr 2014 22:16

Yes Linda, I did take it easy today thank you :-)

Sleep well - I hope things are easier tomorrow for you - take care.

Tecwyn Report 29 Apr 2014 22:14

Hi Sue,

Yes I am quite well thank you, as I hope you both are.

The good news is that the men are coming tomorrow to install the ramp at the front of the house. This will enable me to get out of the house unaided, and back in again hopefully.

Also my fish tank is arriving tomorrow. Sue my neighbour is going to set it up for me. She also keeps tropical fish, so is experienced with them

Will be a busy day here :-)

Hello Tec - hope you are well :-)

Hopefully you will come back from your holiday refreshed and ready to tackle things again.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 29 Apr 2014 21:55

I am sure she will settle Sue, it will just take time, but we will be away on holiday soon, so that will undo all the good work.

The nurses are coming tomorrow to do my training for how to replace the button should it ever come out. It has to be done within thirty minutes or the stoma will close.
