Hello Linda,
Yes I enjoyed her visit, as always. It was nice that they stayed the night, and as well as doing my shopping they both worked hard in the garden, doing things I can no longer manage.
If it's fine tomorrow I am hoping to spend a day out there potting up some plants.
I have three tomato plants to grow outside in a growbag. I have done this before quite successfully.

Hope you have recovered from your travels, and that the cough is improving :-)

Good evening Tec, have you had a nice visit from your daughter?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 3 May 2014 21:11

Berona - Of course we are concerned when you "disappear" and imagine all sorts of things. Like you've been abducted by aliens :-D - run away to join the circus :-D - been lured into the desert by some oil rich Arabian gentleman :-D.

or taken off on a cruise without us :-D..........who knows?

As far as I know, Jonquils are a variety of narcissi, usually sweet scented and multi-headed. Some people force them indoors as short lived house plants, then plant them out.

Hello Everyone, :-)

Sorry that I disappeared suddenly last night, but my daughter and Sil arrived a little earlier than expected.
They did my supermarket shopping, and a few more things that I needed in various other shops. Then they went to see the Duchess. I didn't go, and was rather disappointed, but my neighbour has offered to take me during the week. I don't know when, as she is busy all Bank Holiday weekend with the B&B. Then one day I'm at the artificial limb centre, the next day my fish tank is arriving, and the following day my brother is coming to finish a job he started here last week.

Anyway, after lunch SIL pressure washed the paved area in the garden - then transferred three large tubs of lily's from the back garden to the front for the summer. He planted two things in the border, while daughter potted up some plants into bigger pots.
They were quite tired when they left for home this evening, and I'm hardly surprised
:-D

For those of you reflecting how old your daughters are, well my daughter will be 51 this year :-)

I am about to go to bed with my book, but since you were concerned when I didn't write, I must let you know all is well. Thank you very much for being concerned. I was able to use the computer and could go to other websites. I could also read all the posts on GR, but when I wanted to 'reply', it kept telling me I had to log in to be able to use the 'reply' facility. I didn't realise I was causing concern - but I do appreciate it.

If your daughters are all getting into their forties, I suppose I will have to say that I will be 49 next birthday, instead of 39. Oh, to be that young again!! My daughter is now 44 so I know how you must all be feeling. We won't mention that she is my 'baby' and that she has three older brothers! (or that I was no teenage bride).

Goodnight. Sleep tight - or have a nice day.

Hello :-)

Sylvia I'm glad to hear you are starting to feel the benefit of the physio :-)
To answer your question about those who left my aunt's house in a mess, one of them ( the one we think who was responsible for taking thing's from the house ) died a couple of week's before my aunt but his wife will probably have the thing's he took.
Some of the item's missing were gifted to family member's in my uncle's will and some item's my aunt wanted me to have were removed by his father who told me he had them for safe keeping. I have asked him twice about them but heard nothing from him.
My aunt's niece and myself have e-mailed my aunt's solicitor and told her all the item's that have been taken but as of yet have not had a response from her.
To be honest Sylvia what sicken's me about it all is all this was done before my aunt passed away :-| :-|

Linda what a hectic journey home you had :-( I hope you don't have to go through that again on your journey's back and forth to your daughter's.
Looking after Esme is no easy task and I hope she soon start's giving you some of the smile's she has for her mum.

Tec good new's that your extra piece of stairlift has now been installed, just the back ramp to be sorted and then you will be able to get out in the garden whenever you choose :-)

Sue it amazes me sometime's how plant's end up growing in places they weren't planted, a lot of the time it is because bird's or other animal's have eaten the seed's ( without saying the obvious ) the seed's are then re-planted elsewhere. This doesn't explain how you flower's got were they are as they are from bulb's, so as you said someone must have just discarded them there.

Hello Amanda, yes it will be hard work but as you say it give's me the chance to be out in the fresh air, also it will give me a lot of satisfaction to try and get it as it was when I used to look after it after my uncle could no longer do it.
I hope you daughter's enjoyed there night out together :-)

Huia I hope you manage to sort thing's out concerning your connection to the internet.

~~~~~~ to Mersey, are you practising for when Tec and you have your race :-D :-D
Berona glad to hear it was only connection problem that stopped you posting and that you have got thing's sorted out now :-)
LindainHerriotCountry
LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 May 2014 23:20
I think I would just call them a type of Narcissus Huia
I am off to bed as well, goodnight everyone
SueMaid Report 2 May 2014 23:20
Goodnight Amanda <3
Hello Huia - I doubt that daffs or jonquils are native Down Under. I don't know why they are growing and blooming so beautifully. I usually get a pot of daffodils at Easter but I assumed they were forced bulbs. I keep the bulbs and sometimes they grow but often they are never seen again. They don't seem to be very strong bulbs.
Huia
Huia Report 2 May 2014 23:13
Is Jonquil a down-under name? I have them here. Sue, your golden one is probably Soleil-d-or (sp?). It is one of the first to flower and they seem to multiply here. I wonder what the up-toppers call jonquils. I am sure they are not native to Oz or NZ.
Time does fly Amanda - one minute we are looking after our own little ones and the next minute we're looking after their little ones.
My daughter is forty this year and I can't believe it. It doesn't seem so long ago that I was forty :-0
Amanda2003
Amanda2003 Report 2 May 2014 22:48
Sue , I had googled and was about to come back saying daffs :-)
It wasn't nice here today weather wise , rather windy and colder than of late , it is suppossed to get better after a couple of days .
Emily will be five on Tuesday :-0 We have bought her a little track suit , for when she goes to gymnastics . She usually looks shrivelled and cold in her leotard (sp) so hopefully will be happier with the new outfit .
