They are quite vicious, Amanda. I can't see the point in having a fish that will either kill all the other fish in the tank or needs to be put in a jar.

One of our neighbours has a wall length tank. He has a small shark which he has had for a number of years. It never bothers the other fish because he keeps it well fed :-D

Well I know I haven't been here long, but it's bedtime now,

Sue I hope that Aimee is better today, Enjoy your day.

Sleep well Amanda,

Goodnight,
Tec :-)

Sue the Siamese Fighters can be problematic in a mixed tank, though it would be sad to confine it to a jar :-)

Amanda your bristlenose whatnot sounds good, I will look it up. I once had a catfish that did a good job keeping the bottom of the tank clean :-)

My neighbour has a warm water white frog in her tank - I am not keen on it, looks rather spooky to me, and it's rather large :-0

Neons and Cardinals ae lovely in a " shoal " , the way they flash when they all turn is awesome . I only have a little tank and have esisted the urge to go bigger.....lol

Sue , my daughter bought a Siamese fighter and then decided she didn't want fish after all so I had it . It killed all my male guppies :-(

On the subject of fish , I have a " Bristlenose Plecostomas " , a dwarf type , so no fear of her turning into a monster and I also have two Corydoras , they are cute , shy little fish that live on the bottom of the tank :-)

I'm pleased you have the tank all set up. You are lucky to have such a lovely neighbour. I'm sure the fish will give you much pleasure.

My nephew has a large tank with some amazing fish. He also had a Siamese fighting fish which had to be kept in a jar separate to the others. He decided he didn't like seeing it in a jar so he sold it - he felt sorry for it.

Amanda I had a tank many years ago, and I remember the barbs are quite savage, so I won't fall into that trap again.
I want to get a shoal of about 12 neon tetras, as I think they are pretty in a tank.

Sue , pleased to hear Aimee had a better night :-)

Tec , I just read your post on the welsh thread , the fish tank sounds grand , I'm sure you spend many happy hours watching your newhouse guests .
I hope you don't end up with any bullies :-| I made the mistake of getting some " barbs " ( because they where green and looked pretty ) , they where awful to the other fish and I was actually pleased when they snuffed it :-|

Good Evening Amanda,

I wrote a long post about my fish tank being set up today - then I "lost" it into cyberspace :-(
Anyway, it arrived this afternoon, and my lovely neighbour and her friend set it up with a lot of hard work as it is a big tank. It looks beautiful with a bow front glass.
There are a few fish, including two large orange and black Clown Loaches.
The water is rather cloudy with all the disturbance of the gravel, but the filtration system will clear it by tomorrow.
My neighbour has offered to take me to buy more fish when everything has settled down :-)

Hello Tec - I was wondering where you were :-)

As Amanda says - children bounce back quickly. Her mum has just rung to say she had a much better night's sleep.

No sunshine here today - overcast and chilly :-(

Good evening Tec :-)

Well , children do go down fast when they are poorly but thankfully they bounce back just as quickly , fingers crossed she is more like her normal self tomorrow <3

Did I tell you I've been adopted by a pidgon ? He arrived about two weeks ago on the allotments , hanging around the hen coup , looking for bits of grain . He is a lost raceing pidgon . Feeling sorry for him I gave him a handful of mixed corn and a dish of fresh water .
Of course he has decided he likes the service and has decided to stay , he is there eveyday and scurries up looking for his corn as soon as I get the tub out :-)
He is rather splendid and I've named him " Pidg " .......lol

Hello Everyone, :-)

Hello Amanda,
What a good idea to have the party in the tent. As you say it saves all that mess in the house from the little ones spilling things.

Sue, I'm sorry to see that Aimee is unwell. Hopefully the antibiotics will quickly clear things up, but they in themselves can make people miserable. Please give her a cwtch from me :-)

Hello Linda - The pavements down there are so hard on the feet, and you must be worn out tramping round all day with little Esme.
Hopefully Eve will be engrossed in the children's programme on tv.
Try to take care of yourself :-)

She is so quiet and didn't even want to dance when we put a DVD on for her. Her stepdad has her today but we have her tomorrow. Hopefully she will be feeling much better.

Sue , I hope Aimee is soon feeling better , I'm sure the antibiotics will soon help her , it is always miserable to see child feeling ill , bless her :-(

We had Aimee yesterday. She had had a bad night and was not well. We took her to the doctor and she has a bad throat infection and upper chest infection. Poor girl - she really isn't well. The doctor gave her antibiotics which she doesn't do often so it must be nasty :-(. She really wasn't herself at all.

Amanda2003 Report 7 May 2014 22:36

Thank you Sue :-D yes , they all had a good time . Thankfully the next two birthdays should be at my eldest daughters house . I can arrive as a guest :-D

Linda , I wonder if you can get some gel in-soles , it might help with the hard pavement issue ?
