Looks like you are making good progress with Esme. Unfortunate in that respect that now you are breaking the bond now, but it shows that it will again be only a matter of time when you return that she will accept you again with a smile :-)

Not many people flew to Britain from Australia in 1938 then :-D

SueMaid Report 21 May 2014 22:35

You will be ready for a holiday Linda :-D

Tec - Coast Australia is a great show with some good episodes to come. We enjoyed Coast Britain too. Neil Oliver is a good presenter although I prefer Tony Robinson.

Sylvia, Sue says she is not talking to you :-D

I have had a good day with Esme, she even smiled at me. Just tomorrow to go, then I can go home and go on holiday, by which time Esme will have forgotten me

Good Morning Sue.

I have just watched a fascinating programme called"Coast Australia" presented by Neil Oliver. He did a long series about the coast of Great Britain.
This episode was all about the history of Sydney Harbour, building of the Bridge, and much more - can't wait for next week.

By the way, if you wanted to fly to Britain in 1938 you flew by Sea Plane from Rose Bay up to Darwin. The flight took just ten days, and cost a years salary :-D

Berona - That was a lovely evening your son organised for you and your brother - you of course deserve to always travel in style. Glad you enjoyed yourself, and hope that your brother did too.

Sylvia.
I know what you say about the size of Canada compared to Australia is factual.
However, a wise lady such as yourself would know surely that only the Americans are permitted to say anything is bigger, better, compared to anywhere else.
:-D :-D :-D

Hello everyone :-)

What a lovely day out Berona - a wonderful gift for your brother :-)

Will someone tell Sylvia I'm not talking to her :-|

Linda ............................

:-D :-D

I know I was living dangerously!!!

I hope that Esme behaves for you during the rest of the day

Berona ......... what a lovely present from your son to his uncle, and you. xxx

It's about 18C or so, but the clouds are rolling in and rain is in the forecast ............. though that has been the case for the last couple of days, and the rain has never actually fallen.

The university's Graduation Ceremonies start today ............... 4 a day for the next 6 week days. OH is Senior Marshal for the students, and goes to all 24 ceremonies.

We're keeping our fingers crossed that heavy rain does not fall while the students are processing from the marshalling point to the Theatre, or after each ceremony when there are "snackies" on the plaza outside the Theatre.

I am glad that you had a nice day out Berona, although as you are such a refined lady,I had assumed that you always travelled by limo

I am just having a peaceful lunch as I managed to time it so Esme fell asleep just as we got back to the house after our walk. She will only sleep for thirty minutes though

Berona Report 21 May 2014 08:39

Hello all. Again, lovely weather here. 24c. Forecast again tomorrow. It can't last - but it's good to make the most of whilst it does last

My brother was 70 yesterday and one of my sons' present to him was to have a limousine pick up the two of us from my place at 4pm; drive in peak hour traffic to son's place where he joined us and on further to Star City, where we met my dtr-in-law and had a lovely dinner, then onto the theatre to see the show Strictly Ballroom. Then the limo picked us up outside and drove home again via their place. Didn't drink the champers on the trip out - but had a half glass on the way home. Had a lovely time with them and enjoyed the show, although I only took my walking stick, but the men almost carried me where I was required to walk. If I had known it was going to be such a long stretch limo and what the terrain was like in the Casino area, I would have taken my 'walker'. Saw quite a few parked outside the doors to the theatre, but I managed. Sore to-day, but well worth it!

Hi all

I got phantom pains after each of my mastectomies.

Now THAT feels weird!

you know those prickling feelings we ladies often get? I got those for 2 or 3 years after each one.

Tec ........... good luck tomorrow at the new limb centre :-) xxxx

Sue ........................ Canada is huge!.

Dare I say this, or will you kick me off the thread??

It is over 2,200 km further from Vancouver to Halifax than it is from Sydney to Perth :-)

take care everyone
