I am fine Tec as I hope you are.

It rained here last night. Not much but the garden would have loved it.

Good Morning Sue,

How are you?

I expect Linda and her OH will be in bed now in their posh hotel after the journey, especially as it's now 1 am there.

Hello everyone :-D

Tecwyn Report 27 May 2014 22:51

Hello Amanda, :-)

The rain does give you the pip, but the garden's loving it - everything is growing apace. We did have a lovely sunny warm day yesterday though.

I am quite envious of Sue and her potty find - how exciting, especially as they are so expensive now, and not the quality of the old ones.

Good to hear that your allotment is being productive with the potential of a good harvest later on.
I am growing tomatoes outside, and some beans that I saved from last years crop of the ones you sent me. :-)

Phew ..... got on here , at last :-0 is it me or is the site playing up in general ?

Good evening Tec :-) sorry to hear your daughters plans changed but I hope you get your visit with the Duchess when she goes arrive .
It is good to hear that you have your ramp out into the garden all sorted :-D

Linda , I hope you've had a good journey and that you have a lovely holiday .

Sue , it sounds as if you have gone " potty mad " :-D a host of new garden pots is a wonderful thing :-)

Hello Berona , it sounds as if your start of winter weather is far kinder than our start of summer :-0 :-S having said that , when the sun does show it's face it can get quite warm and the gardens think they are a month ahead :-S

It has rained here all day , off and on . Yesterday we ate the first of this years new potatoes , they where scrummy :-D The allotments are doing very well indeed .
In the garden at home , I was busy creating a " bug hotel " yesterday . I saw a picture in a gardening magazine and realised I had a CD shelf / unit in the loft that would make a perfect accomodation if I crammed the spaces with various things , stones , fir cones , straw , twigs , pieces of bamboo etc etc . It isn't finished yet but I'm quite pleased with the results so far .

Hello Berona :-)

You are having amazing weather for the time of year, unlike us. We are having so many wet days. Doesn't feel like nearly June.

Yes I do have the grabber things you mentioned, in fact I have two, a small one, and a longer one. They are extremely useful, especially now I'm in the wheelchair, for reaching things in awkward places, including the floor.

It is much easier to get into the garden now, with the last bit of ramp done. Now I just have to hop down two steps out of the kitchen, then straight down into the garden in the wheelchair.

My daughter isn't coming now until the end of the week, together with SIL. They will stay just the one night. They do have busy lives.
Still, it will be good to see them albeit briefly,, and so long as they fit in a visit to the Duchess.

I hope your good weather continues, saving you a bit on the heating this winter.

Berona

Berona Report 27 May 2014 12:51

Hello again on yet another warm evening - no heater required. We have had 18 successive days with temps over 22c. Can't believe it - with only a few days to go to the start of winter! Night temps are dropping, but still very comfortable.

Tec - hope you and your dtr have a nice time together and that you are able to visit the duchess. I hope you find her well.
Do you have one of those grabber-things? A rod with a pair of jaws one end and a wire leading up to a handle on the other end? I have had one with a medium sized rod for years and I would be lost without it. It reaches where I can't! either on the floor, under things, and up high too. It's the same as the litter-picker used for lawn maintenance - to pick up rubbish out of gardens, etc. I find it very valuable.
Good to know you have your ramps . Now..don't go doing any wheelies!!!

Tecwyn Report 26 May 2014 23:23

Oh Susan - don't you start going on about that perishing boy in the village :-(

I would certainly have to go back for more - lots more :-D

Your family should not have teased you - they are just jealous of mother's good luck :-)

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 26 May 2014 23:21

I had better go to bed. I won't be on tomorrow at all because I have things to do in the morning and we leave in the afternoon

I will take my tablet so should be able to post from part of the hotel, where I can't get wifi, I will use my Kindle :-D

Greece is two hours ahead of the UK,so the timings will be odd, but I will do my best

Goodnight everyone

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 26 May 2014 23:19

The lad in the village could have fixed it if he hadn't run away :-D

I am so tempted to go back for more. We had dinner at my daughters house and I was teased mercilessly.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 26 May 2014 23:17

I don't have a servant Linda, unlike my forebears who had a houseful, but they didn't have solar powered water features in those days.

I might have a go at it in the summer, I'll see.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 26 May 2014 23:12

Get your servant to fix it Tec :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 26 May 2014 23:10

only 26 - oh dear :-(

go back and get another four :-D

making a water feature out of the blue bowl sounds good.

I had a nice water feature in my garden, a solar powered one, but it needs replacing as it no longer works. Trouble is I can no longer get to ity to fix it with a new one which is a nuisance

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 26 May 2014 23:06

I'm excited too but must wait till after our trip before I do anything. I discovered that one large blue bowl doesn't have drainage holes so that will become a water feature. I counted them and I found I slightly exaggerated - I don't have thirty pots I have twenty six :-D
