Some of the hotel reviews are funny Persie. I do find trip advisor useful though you do get the odd nut case. In fact, in all the times we have been here, I never realised that you could cask for the mattress pad. I read a review just before we came where someone was complaining about the bed and the hotel manager had replied saying if he had mentioned it at reception, they would have put a mattress topper on. So I mentioned it and they did, it is really comfy now

No that was not me Persie :-0

It was incredibly hit at lunchtime, even the barman was commenting on it, we normally come in for a break over the hottest part if the day in any case. When we went back out, I couldn't believe the change. A tremendous storm had brewed up, it was incredibly windy and the sea was very rough, it was still about 23 degrees, but we didn't stay out for long. We have spent all afternoon reading which is very relaxing. It will be time to venture out for dinner soon, the storm has passed now and it ius Sunny again.

As we are two hours ahead here, by the time Tec and Sue arrive, we will be asleep. I am sure Sue is going to say she isn't talking to me in any case :-D

I hope you are sleeping better now with the topper pad..

I have been reading some of the complaints that Hotel/motel owners receive.. some are hilarious.
One person wanted the shower rose shifter higher up the wall.
another lot wanted the furniture in their room moved because the layout disturbed them.
One person complained that the front loader washing machine was useless and it was flooding. The appliance that they actually used was the dryer, they loaded the lint filter with washing powder and filled the dryer with water from a bucket.

One couple wanted a softer mattress to create a "roll together." (was that you?)

Oh dear Persie, I don't like to tell you that it is scorching here, much hotter than yesterday. We have retired to our air conditioned room for a lunchtime rest. Well reading books on the beach is such hard work you know :-D

Yeah we noticed you don't do corrections.. with or without the kindle :-P

Please be quiet about the warm weather, we had our coldest night and morning in May in 40 years. We like to gradually ease ourselves into colder weather, not get around in a t shirt and jeans one day and then need a fleecy lined top over a long sleeved t shirt the next day.

Typing on this kindle is awkward if I make a mistake it is difficult to correct it.

I am really gkad you are back with us Persie

Tec have you noticed Sue keeps mentioning a trip. You don't think that means? Shudders at the thought. I hope you have informed the border patrol to keep her out of Wales

Hi Persie

Tec

I used to grow Streptocarpus as a house plant here ............. they're related to the African Violet

A common name for them here is Cape Violet.

I had some plants that lasted for several years :-)

Our skirting boards come in two sizes Tec, the old part had the 9" ones and where the alterations etc had been made the smaller ones were installed so the dining area had part old and part new and when we renovated that area we went for all 9" through out dining, lounge and most of main bedroom.. had to leave the wall where the ensuite, walk in ward robe and tall cupboard doors are...

When I first saw that room it reminded me of Ben Travers Farces, where he has people popping in and out of doors.. Could also work for the little woman and man weather people.

Gee aren't you glad I am still here (had a lot of trouble renewing but got it sorted) ..I am just a mine of info.. but not very good at gardening and pots. Let it all grow wild..

Goodnight Tec - sweet dreams <3

I had a selection of eight different ones, some are purple - I really like them.

Goodnight again :-)

That's the trouble here, we lose so many terracotta pots to frost - I have some
plastic pots, but dislike them. Mostly my pots are terracotta.

Storing your pots on shelves in the shed is a good idea - that way they will be safe and out of the way.

Well I'm off to bed now,
Enjoy your day Sue - planning what to put in your pots in the Spring :-)

Goodnight,
Tec :-)

I've just been looking at the Dibleys site. Lovely plants. What colour will your streptocarpus flowers be? The purple ones look glorious.

SueMaid Report 28 May 2014 23:24

Well you know how much I dislike having to go to the garden centres ;-)

There's not much I can do before we leave for our trip although I have scrubbed the pots I have bought and stored them in the shed. Luckily I don't have to worry about losing them to frost. OH is going to put up some shelves in the shed so they can be stored properly and with easier access.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 28 May 2014 23:14

You are right...........

I admit that I'm green with envy, but pleased for you as well.

You must go back and buy more - after all you don't have to fill them all at once, you can store some.
You have the rest of your life to use them, and create a beautiful garden.

Trouble is - it all means lots more trips to the garden centre - how awful :-D :-D

The young couple will be at the house all day Saturday so who knows :-D

Tease all you like.....you're just jealous :-D

Do you mean you've bought MORE pots? :-D :-D :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 28 May 2014 23:01

Sorry Tec - I disappeared.

I have potted up some of my new/old pots. The young girl contacted me yesterday evening and said that she still had a number of pots if I was interested. I couldn't say no....could I?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 28 May 2014 22:39

Good Morning Sue,

Today I potted on eight Streptocarpus plug plants that I'd sent for by post.
I have grown them before, but the must be kept in a greenhouse or conservatory. They are beautiful flowering over a long period.
