I often leave the rake on the back deck leaning against the wall of the house.
The other day I walked to the railing (beside the bougainvillea) and did not notice the rake and stood on the prongs and the handle hit me in the face and my mouth bled.. brought tears to my eyes.

I said to himself I don't remember putting the rake there.. He said no I moved it for safety's sake. He thought he might have stepped back (what for I don't know) after coming out the dining doors and it would have hit him in the back or on the back of his head. I told him that would not have bothered me in the least.

Hello Persie - Hello Sue :-)

I don't mind you having a laugh at my expense :-)

Must admit it was like something out "You've Been Framed" on tv. and I did see the funny side of it after I'd changed and dried out :-D

Persephone Report 1 Jun 2014 23:17

Persephone Report 1 Jun 2014 22:53

I understand your difficulty there Tec, somewhere between a rock and a hard place.. pity you weren't in between that rock and hard place when the hose picked a fight with you.. must have been darned awkward to say the least and I apologise for having a little giggle at you sitting in a puddle.

Hello everyone, :-)

Dull and overcast here all day, but not cold.
I did a little work in the garden. Was watering the pots with the hosepipe when the spray nozzle shot off the end of the hose, which then went into whirling dervish mode :-(
As I couldn't get out of the way fast enough I got absolutely soaked from head to foot in cold water. Was even sitting in a puddle in the wheelchair :-D

The language was not that of a respectable gentleman :-D

The idea of arranging to speak to the Duchess on the phone is a good idea on the face of it.
However, I don't know if it would be the right thing to do. The trouble is the Duchess gets upset as soon as she sees me. I can quickly deal with that by reassuring her that everything is ok, and she soon gets over it. She also cries as I leave, and holds onto to me so tightly it is difficult to get away.
I wonder that by hearing me on the phone might upset her, and I just couldn't bear to hear her in tears on the phone and me not being there.
I hope you understand.

Skype would be ideal but realise it is not practical in the circumstances.

It is a good idea and so as it is accommodating the rest home as well have a set time of day that you make the call Tec.. Good compromise when you cannot be there as much as you would like to be.

Linda, I don't like the beach much even though I am surrounded by beaches, and sand being billowed about would put me off even more. I do quite like the beach when it is a wet and gloomy day and I can just walk along without lots of holiday makers.

I will join in the group hug from Greece, I have very long arms

It is mid afternoon and we have moved from the beach because it was getting windy and the sand was blowing about. There seems to be bad weather over much of Europe but it is still warm here despite the wind. The Greeks probably think this is dreadful weather but it is still good to us. I couldn't be here in mid summer, it woulx be far too hot.

Tec, I know the Duchess couldn't cope with a mobile phone but can't you arrange fir the homd to bring the Duchess to their land line so that you could speak to her regularly. As they need to keep in your good books now they might be more likely to consider it

Carolee Report 1 Jun 2014 05:11

Hi Sylvia,

I am fine :-) I hope all is well with you and yours.

I have a couple of pieces of Bendigo pottery. I seem to be picking the older and different pieces, some are quite unusual lol
I have joined a group on face book, I am learning so much from the more experienced collectors.
