Hello everyone. Hope you are all well and happy.
Sue - hope you enjoy Italy. Have you had your bottom pinched yet? My first time was in my early 20's, standing in front of the Fountain of Trevi. The offenders are quick, but I'm sure it was one of the policemen standing nearby - looking innocent of course. Next time was more of a surprise - 38 years later - in a restaurant and with my husband sitting beside me, too! Again, there were a few waiters around me at the time, so I wasn't able to know who did it. I think it's part of the entertainment.

Hello Everyone,
No rain here today, but very humid and warm. Tomorrow is forecast heavy rain and thunderstorms - it does feel like thunder storm weather, being very close.
Haven't done much today. A few odd jobs in the garden this morning, then this afternoon I watched television coverage of the 70th Anniversary celebrations of the D-Day landings in Normandy. It was very interesting, and good to see that so many veterans of that campaign were able to attend, though most now in their nineties. Well attended by our Royal family, the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles, and his wife, and Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Linda I hope the unheated pool was warm enough for a dip, even to cool off in.
Sue - Glad to see that you are enjoying Venice. Very brave of your OH to drive there, especially on the "wrong" side of the road, amidst Italian drivers :-( I'm sure you will be taking thousands of pictures :-D Any flower pots? :-D

After a gap of several hours I have just got the hotel WiFi back as well, I try to use that as it is free.
I have just seen the weather forecast, it seemed to e raining in the UK. It has been nice and sunny here, I went in the pool twice to cool off. That entails being braved as it is not heated
I hope everyone is OK, I noticed Tec didn't post last night.

Hello everyone :-D i hope everyone is well.
the WiFi here is very bad and drops out constantly. i dont know how often I will be able to pop in.
We are enjoying the Italian food and Venice at our own pace is wonderful. OH had a little difficulty getting used to driving on the 'wrong' side of the road but we are slowly getting used to it.
will try to get on later.

Hello I hope everyone is OK. I couldn't get a WiFi connection yesterday. It is scorching hot today so we are up by the pool where there is more breeze. The sand gets so hot at lunchtime that it burns your feet
I must look silly as I have a towel over my head like a tent so no can see the screen

Hi Sue and everyone
We're having lovely weather here ........... and it is forecast to last through the weekend :-D
The mornings are cloudy but that usually burns off by about 10 or 11 am, and then it is getting to around 20C in the afternoons.
Tec................ I'm glad that they fitted a shoe to your new leg. I had visions of peg leg thumping along :-)
We've had a busy 2 days ................. one with a job we had NOT planned on doing!
My nose started feeling uncomfortable near my eye over the weekend, but it was not until Monday evening that I looked at my glasses ........ the plastic nose pad was split and also a bit out of position.
Sooooooooooooo ............. a trip to the opticians had to go onto Tuesday's job list.
I thought that I might as well also take in the prescription for new glasses that I've been carrying around since November 26th last year :-)
OH took me down, and I got 2 new nose pads and a tightening of the side arms, all for free.
Then promptly spent the equivalent of somewhere around £350-400 on new glasses
I will get about £50 back as the optician was having a promo on the frames I chose ............. I just have to send in a coupon to get the refund.
Today we did one of the planned jobs .............. which unfortunately took us into down town and the traffic was horrible, especially coming home :-(
We had to go to the train station to pick up the tickets for our train trip.
I could have printed e-tickets from emails that they sent to me .................. it would have meant 4 sheets 8 x 11" each, 1 for each train we're travelling on.
That meant 8 pages for OH to fold and fit into his travel wallet.
Getting the "proper" tickets ................... 2 tickets each, about 3" x 11", but folding to 3" x 5"
The agent also double checked that my Non-Lactose meal was ordered for the day train segments.
We leave next Tuesday
take care everyone
s xx

Yes , it will be a real treat if there are baby owls to be seen in a few weeks .
We mostly get seagulls here in Norfolk .....lol
My pidgeon has gone :-( he hasn't been seen for four days now . I guess that something must have befallen him , shame really , as I had become rather attached to him .
Well , I shall be saying good night now , I hope you enjoy a nice sunny day tomorrow :-)
~~~~~~~~ to anyone that arrives later .
It is a very worthwhile thing to do, fostering homeless dogs. Not something I could do, as I would get too attached to them, and not want to part with them.
It would be great if your daughter has an owls nest that close, apart from the noise :-D We have quite a few owls around here, they seem to have phases of being noisy. We do get a lot of buzzards, and sometimes red kites, that the jackdaws like to harass and mob, until they return back up the mountain.
Well I think your neighbour must be a lovely person for doing such a worthwhile thing for those dogs . I hope that Jack soon finds his forever home :-)
I haven't been watching springwatch this time , my OH usually decides what is on the TV and I sit here tapping away on the computer ....it is an interesting programme though .
On the subject of birds , my middle daughter thinks she has an owl nest outside her back window , she lives in a second floor flat in a rather wooded location . There is a dence holly tree just outside her window . She was moaning that an owl was hooting a great deal a few weeks ago , then it went quite for awhile and now she hears a screetching noise , off and on . I have told her to watch out for babies soon . :-D
It's good that you feed the mullet, instead of murdering them to eat. Yes they are part of our wildlife. I have been watching SpringWatch, that's interesting.
My neighbour fosters border coolie's until a home can be found for them. They "rescue" them out of the pounds, where they will be put down after a while. As I said the old dog Milo is staying as she thinks he is too old to be moved on again. She has found homes for two others. Apparently it's a nationwide organisation. It would be unthinkable that Jack may have been put down, he is so funny and full of life
There is peace occassionally Tec but just not very often .... lol We did go to the boat a few days ago , it was good to see the Mullet are back , we put bread in the bag and they soon arrived to eat it all . We don't fish for them , they are our wildlife friends , much like birds that come to ones bird table I guess .
The rain is a problem when it comes down so heavily , I'm glad your journey today was safe . A you say , hopefully tomorrow will be fair weather .
I hadn't realised your neighbour now has two dogs , why is she looking for a home for Jack ? or is she just fostering him ? It is good that they visit you every day , they sound like good company .
Our MIlo is really looking his age these days , I keep telling him " your not long for this world " but he usually reacts by getting his squeeky toy .....bless him :-)
Oh dear Amanda - there really is no peace is? :-D
If it wasn't far away you could go and just sit on your boat with a good book and a radio :-D It absolutely hammered down with rain all day here - the journey to Wrexham was awful with a lot of surface water. Tonight there was a beautiful sunset across the sea, so tomorrow looks good.
My two friendly dogs from next door visit every day for their rich tea biscuit - then they turn tail and go home. Visit several times throughout the day. Neighbour is still looking for a home for Jack. He is a fabulous dog, and so obedient. Very good at coming back when called. Would make a fabulous family dog as he just loves to play, and never gives up
