Glad to know you've arrived back home safely, Linda.

Today we visited a couple of museums/galleries. It was very hot again so we went out in the afternoon and thankfully didn't have to cue for long.

Now we are relaxing.

Tec - I had a smile imagining your wooden leg being taken back to the workshop where someone with a saw will cut off .5 cms :-D

I managed to stay awake all day, so all I need to do now is stay awake until a respectable time to go to bed. I don't want to go too early in case I wake up in the middle of the night

LindainHerriotCountry Report 11 Jun 2014 10:56

Oh well at least you get another day out courtesy of the NHS

I need matchsticks The flight home was due to take off at 1.45 am, later than I thought. How I stayed awake until then I don't know. It was a four hour flight and they made good time so we were early. We got two hours back on the local time, so arrived in the middle of the night UK time. The airport were on the ball and we were driving out only half an hour after we landed. Poor OH had an hour and a quarter to drive before we got home and fell into bed. We managed about four hours sleep before we woke up

I didn't think I felt too bad, but I have revised that to feeling dreadful. Ican foresee another sleep this afternoon

Hope you have a safe and comfortable flight home Linda - looks like you have missed all the torrential. The forecast is very good for the next few days, warm and dry. :-)

Sue it sounds like you are having a lovely time. Don't worry about putting on weight with all that nice Italian food.
You can always pop into the fashion houses of Milan for new outfits :-D

Today I went to the wooden leg factory. My leg is made and I had a practice again on the parallel bars. They decided the leg is 0.5 of a centimetre too long, so it has gone back to the workshop to be shortened.

Oh well we have just had dinner and are now sitting waiting in the hotel lobby to go to the airport. We have quite a long wait, a couple of hours yet, but hopefully it won't drag too much. I have just changed into some trousers for the plane but I am boiling now

OK Sue, pizza it is every night

We are enjoying our last day of sunshine. We don't get picked up until 10pm so we can enjoy our night flight home thanks to the pack of b*** who are Thomson holidays. It has taken us ages to find out when we were being collected thanks to the non appearance of thee rep.

Anyway I will enjoy my last day despite them

We have just had a lovely meal in a Pizzeria near where we are staying in Florence. We had pasta and gnocchi - very nice. I think we will have to pay extra to go on the plane because of all the lovely meals we are eating :-D

The apartment is lovely and within 15 minutes walk from the historic part of the city. We intend visiting the city tomorrow.

Hello Everyone, :-)

Linda, maybe the promised thunderstorm will oblige later, hopefully not in the middle of the night :-)
Hope you make the most of your last day.

Sue - You are certainly getting about. How I wish I were with you, but yes I know, three's a crowd :-D not as if I could carry the luggage :-(
Hope you both have a great time on your journey, seeing lots of interesting places.

I spent my senior school days traveling 30 miles every day to school on a good old fashioned steam train, a bit like Harry Potter. School was a bit like Hogwarts when I think about it :-D most of the teachers were deranged :-D.
The modern diesel or electric trains are just not the same, but then I am an old romantic ;-)

This morning we had intermittent heavy showers (torrential) this afternoon is sunny and warm. I can actually see things growing in my garden before my very eyes.
I am no longer fretting about the parts I can't get to where the weeds are. I am just ignoring them.

It is mid afternoon and we have just come in because it was starting to rain. The thunder has been rumbling around for a while. I want a big storm to watch, but it seems to be passing over.

Your trip sounds lovely Sue.

Two ladies Tec, you are a sly old dog :-D

So nice to learn of all your trips and that you are enjoying yourselves.

Tec - lovely to know you are getting out and about - and with TWO ladies, too! You don't do things by halves, do you? I'll bet you enjoyed yourself. I certainly hope you did.

Sylvia. I can't remember when I was last on a train. They don't even have the same kind of trains now that I last went on. . I hope you both have a lovely time.

Hello everyone :-D

A quick post before the wifi drops out.

Spent yesterday afternoon on the Rialto bridge. We had lunch in a small cafe on the Grande Canal. Very nice but very hot.

Today we set off for Florence dropping into Pisa on the way.

Hopefully we will have better wifi in the apartment we will be staying in.

Talk soon

Hello Everyone, :-)

Linda you don't have to come home - just book another month :-D
I also enjoy thunderstorms :-) We had a hum dinger yesterday at 7am.

Sue the places you are visiting were once on my wish list. Surprised to hear that your OH is now driving like a maniac :-D If you can't beat em, join em :-D
Well done to Daniel Ricardo of Australia on his first Grand Prix win in Canada.

Sylvia I hope you have a great time, and a safe journey to Montreal - lovely to have a long train journey.

Lovely warm sunny day here. I spent most of the day pottering about the garden, then went to the local pub for dinner this evening, with two ladies :-)

Tec :-)

Hi Sue, and everyone

it sounds as if Sue and Linda are having great holidays :-)

Only 2 more days, and we will be on the train to Montreal :-)

I'm busy trying to get my stuff together ....... I let OH sort himself out :-)

We have 1 small case and a bag between us for on the train, and 1 case to be checked ......... with the clothes etc for Montreal and then the return home

We will have the laptop with us .................. but I have no idea what the WiFi situation will be. Certainly not on the train for most, if not all, the journey.

Then we're back for 3 days, before going up North for about a week

The weather is forecast to be hot in Montreal

I'll try to post before we leave, but I think it will then be a case of me popping in as and when ............... so don't worry unless you haven't heard for a month :-)

Safe journey home Linda

Safe travels around Italy, Sue

take care everyone

It is nice and warm, but windy which is better than being too hot. It is forecasting thunderstorms for tomorrow which OH is looking forward to for some odd reason.

You mean your OH is driving like a maniac cutting people up and blaring his born Sue

I have hardly been able to connect for the last couple of days, I managed one post last night and that was it.

I have come up to the pool area and have a towel over my head and the screen again in order to get a signal and see what I am typing

It is very windy here, but hot

Hello friends :-D

The wifi here is dreadful so while we have it I make full use of it. Yesterday we went for a long drive to Lake Garda. It was a beautiful day and the lake foreshores were lovely. We had afternoon coffee in a small café and soaked up the atmosphere. OH seems to be getting the hang of driving the "Italian" way.

hope everyone is well - I haven't read back as I don't know how long I will have wifi for.
