I think Germany should back off now - they have punished Brazil enough. :-0

A radio is a simple pleasure but one I enjoy when I'm doing the housework at home.

Oh dear Brazil.......

I can understand it being harder when they stop asking to go home, it's as if they've given up I suppose.

I was delighted to see that the Duchess is using the radio I bought her last week. It was on when we arrived, and she said she listens to it every day.
She could no longer work out how to use the remote on the tv.

She always did enjoy listening to the radio, and the one I bought was in a retro range through Amazon, anfd had the simplest controls. I pre-set the stations for her.

Goodnight Linda - have a great day tomorrow <3

I hated it when my father would ask to go home. I thought it was even harder when he stopped asking :-(

Goodnight Linda - sleep well, enjoy your day tomorrow. :-)

It is very difficult Linda, and the Duchess seemed very rational today.

Those "awkward" moments are bound to crop up, and although it destroys me inside, I just have to put a brave face on it - I just hate lying to her, I've never done that in 52 years.

Anyway, tomorrow when I've finished playing with my wooden leg, I'm going to paint the front door - the sun has taken the shine off it.

I need to charge my iPad so I will say goodnight.

In any case Eve was out like a light tonight, so she will be up with the larks tomorrow, so I better sleep while I can

I don't like the half-time waffle from the pundits either, Linda.

It's embarrassing to see how badly they are playing.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 8 Jul 2014 22:06

This match is an humiliation to Brazil - and I feel sorry for them really.

I am glad that the visit to the Duchess of her sister went well Tec

It must be so difficult for you when she has rational moments and says things like that

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 8 Jul 2014 22:05

Sue I will be very careful when walking with Archie - I do hope that he doesn't have a mind of his own and go off in a different direction :-D.

I expect my SIL was saddened to see how the Duchess has altered, but she takes a more matter of fact attitude to it. My nephew found it hard I think - he hasn't seen the Duchess for a few years now, so remembers her as she was.

Hello, Tec. Take care when you practise walking with Archie.

I can only imagine how difficult it must be when the Duchess talks about coming home. She is obviously missing you as much as you are missing her. I hope your SIL wasn't too saddened to see that how the Duches has deteriorated.

Tecwyn Report 8 Jul 2014 21:52

Congratulations to your son Sue - all that hard work rewarded - well done :-)

I hate the half time pundits

Hello Everyone, :-)

Sue I think you both deserve that day of rest tomorrow. You seem to have enjoyed what you saw of Scotland. As I said, I've never been there, but know the scenery is impressive.

Linda I have named my wooden leg "Archie" so I can take Archie for a walk now and then. :-D just hope he comes with me.
Expect Eve had great fun on the pedalo, and in the big pool. Hope the weather stays fine for the rest of your stay - been a lovely day here.

Diane I don't know if it will be possible to take the Duchess out of the home for a meal etc.
I fear that if I did she may not want to go back, but demand to go home. It would be so nice to take her out of there for a ride out sometimes.

Today my SIL and nephew visited me at home, and then we all went to visit the Duchess after lunch.
The visit went very well really, though at one time she did ask me if she would ever get out of there, and said it would be nice if we could find a place to be together again.
It is so hard when she says things like that.
Anyway, all in all it was a good visit, and my SIL said she will come back again before she returns to Hong Kong in three weeks.
She won't be back then until Christmas.

Tomorrow I will have no visitors so for the first time will be able to practice with my wooden leg on my own without the physio being around.
I think it's like when you take a driving test, you actually learn to drive after you've passed your test.
I shall feel like a fledgling just out of the nest.

I will pass on your congratulations, Linda - thank you.

I can't believe Brazil is playing so badly :-0 I almost feel sorry for them.

That is such good news Sue. Send him our congratulations as we'll.

How can Brazil be so bad? Spread betting?

My battery is very low, so I might disappear

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 8 Jul 2014 21:39

Of course it is Linda - nothing less than I expected.

Our son sent a message to say he has passed all his exams. His sister invited him over for dinner to celebrate.

I hope my kitchen was up to your standards :-D

Hello everyone :-)

I cooked tonight Linda - I'm supposed to be on holiday :-(

We went to Holmfirth today. We went on a little tour of the areas where the Last of the Summer Wine was filmed. Tomorrow is a day of rest.

Sounds like you're having a good time. Will your OH be watching the football?
