It is our last full day tomorrow, we have to be out by 10am on Monday morning. It seems to have gone very quickly.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Jul 2014 21:52

Hope peace still reigns supreme in your household :-D

It will be much less tiring attending the local hospital only 20 mins journey. Attending Wrexham every other day was wearing me out.

I think you may be right about no penalties tonight - I would be amazed, along with the population of Brazil if it did :-D

It has been a lovely day here, really hot.

It is all quiet on the baby front, but after the spa my daughter has rung to ask if it is OK if they go for a drink, so I am expecting all hall to break out at any minute

I am glad you are getting on well with Archie,at loeast the local hospital appoint meant won't be a long day for you.

I don't think the football will be going to penalties tonight

Hello, :-)

It has been a wet day here, but we do need some rain, having had two weeks of unbroken sunshine.

I have taken Archie for a short walk around the house twice today. Have been told not to overdo it, and Archie lets me know when enough is enough.

I am of course watching football again :-D hope it doesn't go on all night.

Hello Linda, Sounds like you are having a good time. The children's entertainer sounds gruesome though. I was terrified of clowns when I was young - not keen on them now.
I hope your evening baby sitting Esme passes peacefully.

Berona I laughed at your appearance on tv - might be described as a rather "negative" shot :-D

Good evening.

Eve has had a busy day, which means grandad and I have had a busy day.

This morning we took her to see a children's entertainer who must have thought she was doing some sort of rada audition. She was booming and totally over the top. Poor Eve was scared. We then fitted in the playground before it was time for roller tots, she managed well and liked it.

Her parents then brought Esme to join us for lunch, Eve then had a hair braid put in, she is very proud of that. We then took he r swimming while mummy and daddy looked after Esme they have gone for an evening spa session,so we are in charge again.so far so good,but I am not counting my chickens

My only claim to TV fame dates back to black and white days. OH was on local government and we were present at the opening of a new ambulance station not far from our home. My first son was a few months old and I dressed him in a 'smock suit' as they wore then - a white one, with white socks and baby shoes. As it happened, I decided to wear a white dress and was shown to a seat next to the side wall of the building......The camera came close and did a wide sweep of us and so, when we looked in on the news that evening, we were very hopeful.... Only problem was that the wall behind us was also white - so all we could see on the black and white screen was grey faces, arms and legs, sticking out of a mass of white! and the 'wide sweep' was a quick whip. Nobody recognised us! In fact, we hardly recognised ourselves. It was a good lesson though. Makes me always look at the surroundings/background before I take a photo!

Hello all :-)

Tec I would love to go to the International Eisteddfod at Llangollen again, I went 3yrs ago last time I had a holiday. It was the first time I had ever been and saw Russell Watson.
I'm glad your visit with your SIL to see the Duchess was a good one, it must have been difficult for your SIL ( like it is for you ) seeing her in the care home.

Linda, I'm glad you had a nice relaxing time at the spa with your daughter :-)

Hello Berona I hope you are well and managing ok, I have had to " though reluctantly " start to use a walker when I go out to do my fortnightly shop because of my hip and back.

Persie you must have been very proud of your daughter :-) I was on TV twice when I was in the audience of The Spinner's show ( a Liverpool Folk group )
the show was aired around Christmas 1976 and then repeated about 6mths later, the camera panned across the audience and did about 3 close ups of me.
Also I was in a live audience being interviewed on a show called Now your talking about " Where is my family "

Sue hope you are having a nice time with your family :-)

~~~~~~~~ to all who pop in <3
Hello Everyone, :-)
Another nice day, rather humid.
I fiddled about in the garden, attacking things with the secateurs, which is good for the soul :-)
Took Archie for another short walk about the house. Tuesday I have to go to the local hospital for physio, which just means practising with Archie, under supervision.
Sue I hope you had an uneventful journey to Essex, and arrived safely.
Linda glad you enjoyed the Spa. Think I might book myself in for a full body makeover, but doubt anything could be done about my face :-D.
It has taken a long time to get this face, so I suppose it looks lived in, even if my expression is often vacant :-D
Diane I will google the Wild Flower Collection Liverpool. Sounds good.
This week is the International Eisteddfod at Llangollen. We often used to go to the concerts and dancing competitions. It is fascinating to watch the singers and dancers from all over the world.
The Duchess competed there when she was young in the Welsh Youth Choirs.
They also went to Spain, France, and Holland giving concerts.
Her uncle was one of four that instigated the festival in 1947 when he was on the British Council. The idea was to bring nations together through music after the ravages of WW2
Sylvia good news that your OH doesn't have to have surgery. I hope the problem can be resolved through careful diet.
Persie - I have heard that artificial limbs turn up in lost property centres - how strange.
How exciting that your daughter appeared in a film that was shown at Cannes.
My only claim to stardom was appearing in a tv ad for cruise liners, leaning over the ships rail waving at an imaginary person.
Though I have been interviewed on Welsh television, and Welsh radio.
Which is small fry compared to Sue's stardom on Australian media.
:-D
Hello Sylvia, I am pleased that your OH does not need an operation, I hope he can get used to the small meals.
The spa this morning was really good, I could have happily stayed there all day. This afternoon we took. Eve to the playground for an hour, then we all went Ten pin bowling I help Eve,we have the bumpers up and use a ramp. She insisted on only using pink balls, the strategy paid off though because she won.
Hi Sue, and everyone
Tec .................. glad to hear that Archie is behaving himself
Did you name him after Archie Andrews, the puppet from the 50s and 60s?????????????
OH saw the GP yesterday afternoon re the stomach problem. The decision is ........................... do nothing!
He has to be careful about eating several small meals and snacks a day, drink more water and juice than he usually does, and has to eat slowly.
It seems that an operation may cause even more problems and can have very serious side effects. So, doing nothing is the best treatment
He also heard early this morning that his colonoscopy scheduled for noon on Tuesday .................
has been delayed
It is now scheduled for September 16 at 7 am
We take this as a sign that it is not urgent :-)
We made reservations on the ferry yesterday to go to the Island later next week to visit our friend. We haven't been over there since Christmas :-(
take care everyone
Greetings to all. Can't keep up with the globe-trotters but I'm sure they are having a good time. Just hope they get back in time to have all the work done when the owners get back from their trips.
Tec - Take things easy with Archie (how on earth did it get that name?) and please have some backup with you. My old leg has been with me all my life, and yet, it sometimes has a mind of it's own and does things without warning. Having something close at hand to grab is great, but if nothing available, the old walking stick has saved me from toppling over on a couple of occasions. I don't go anywhere outside without it. Even if I don't use it - it's a comfort to know it's there, hanging on my wrist ready to grab..
Persephone
Persephone Report 11 Jul 2014 09:45
So Archie is familiarising himself with the house Tec, just don't let him wander off on his own. I often wonder how limbs end up in lost property. Surely one would notice if their leg fell off.
Do you think you will take up ice skating? Heather Mills did quite well but she did have problems because they had to use a heavier leg for that.
Our youngest daughter was in a short film many years ago she was the only one that spoke in it and it got to the Cannes Film Festival, didn't win but that in itself was an achievement. She was at high school at the time and after it was finished we got a phone call at 10.30pm and we all had to rush down to the local theatre and watch the preview.. It was a rather eerie scary film and if I hadn't read the script I would have been hiding behind my hands. Our older daughter's boyfriend at the time came with us and he looked very grim..and said afterwards gee that was quite terrifying.
Hello :-)
Tec the National Wildflower Centre is a lovely place to go to, it was just a park when I was a girl which I used to go to a lot but now a lot of the area of the park is full of wildflowers and look's very pretty. If you google " National Wildflower Centre Liverpool " you will see all about it.
Sue hope you have a nice time visiting your family in Chelmsford.
Linda sounds like Eve is enjoying herself, enjoy your time with your daughter at the Spa.
That is sad about your uncle Sue - but if "strangers" unsettle him, it is kinder not to visit. Probably just adds to his confusion.
SueMaid
SueMaid Report 10 Jul 2014 23:03
She sounds wonderful Tec - she will be sadly missed I'm sure. It's always sad when we lose one of our older family members.
My Uncle is 94 also but he is deep in the depths of dementia. Last time we were in the UK we visited him and I had to tell him a number of times that my father had died. It was very upsetting for him. In the end I just told him my father was fine. I have decided not to visit him this time as my cousin said 'strangers' upset him.
It is an amazing age. She was an amazing lady. Drove a fire engine during the blitz of London in WW2.
Was writing to me regularly up to last year, with beautiful hand writing, and an incredible sense of humour, especially about current politicians :-D
Sue I have a cousin near Chelmsford, at Writtle. Sadly her mother, my oldest aunt died at the weekend aged 94.
I really would like to attend her funeral, but it isn't practical.
I was brought up for many years in Essex. Went to school there.
