It is 28 degrees, but has been very humid. A breeze is forecast for later today. I hope it arrives as it will help.

Esme is being good, but she needs constant attention, she doesn't just lie there cooing nicely.

She has just gone to sleep which means. He won't wake up for lunch,so that will be late and that will make her afternoon milk later. It will be much better when she doesn't have the daytime milk. In order to do that her mum needs to start making her own very high calorie baby food. That means having a specialist blender. The company which makes them gives a discount for medical needs, so a letter from the doctor has just been sent to them. As soon as that arrives, we will be able to order it, but even a refurbished one costs over three hundred pounds. The bank if grandma and granddad will be stepping in again. :-(

I'm sure I detected a cynical note in Tec's comment about boats.

Tec - have you written that letter about your car yet? You know we will push you until you do, don't you?

I was going to add a few other remarks about a boat being her.. but stopped my fingers from taking flight.

Boats - ships, are very definitely female in all respects.

Hot - Hot - Hot. Another beautiful day.

The excessive heat doesn't agree with me, but I don't care, it's just so nice to see the sun.
It was too warm to do anything sensible, so I just sat in the shade, reading a book.

Was watering all my pots until 10pm when it cooled off.

Linda I should think it's unbearable where you are with the humidity. I hope little Esme is being amiable with you - take care.

Sue - Sounds like you enjoyed your day out. Ripon is just a place I've heard of.
I know very little about the North of England, although I do know that parts of Yorkshire and Northumbria are beautiful.

Diane I hope you will look in on the thread from time to time, to see who's misbehaving :-D take care of yourself, and best foot forward.

Sylvia good to see that you enjoyed your trip catching up with your friend - how lovely to visit the Island, spectacular scenery.

Diane best wishes for the future. I am sure that you can still read the threads on here, and take us to task by email or fb.

I went to the doc yesterday as I thought there might still be a little bit of infection in my finger. She agreed, so more antibiotics :-( which have to be taken an hour before or 2 hours after food. When there are restrictions like that on eating, why do I always feel so extra peckish?

I also had my toenails cut as it must be 4 or more months since they were done, real bird talons. And I had my hair trimmed but not too short for this cold weather.

Now I just have to do some washing, and get it dry to pack for a short trip to Christchurch for a conference. I am a candidate in the election in September. :-0

I never think of going to Ripon because it is so close. It has some nice little museums though.

I forgot to tell you about the Yorkshire Sculpture Park which is not that far away, it makes a good day out and had a nice cafe

It was very hot, busy and crowded in Leeds so we left after awhile and went to Ripon. Such a nice town.....and quiet.

We had a lovely meal tonight - compliments to the chef :-D

Hi Sarah .............. I live in Canada, but have been to Australia (and NZ) several times, and even have dead and living rellies down there :-)




We had a great time ...................... no WiFi access in the Cottage, so no internet access

Our friend had lost a lot of weight in the late winter / early spring, when she was very depressed ............... she went down to about 82/83 lbs. She's now back up to about 92 lbs ............... but that is about 15 lbs too light for her.

She is looking at condos to move into ......... she's realised the house and garden are way too big for her. She has seen 1 condos that she likes ................ both are ground floor, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living / dining room, den and kitchen.

Meanwhile, our other friend is now the proud owner of TWO places .............. and hoping that one of them sells quickly!

His new place is really nice .................... and HUGE. It covers 1500 sq ft ......... which is larger than the main floor of our house.

We came back with 3 more paintings, 1 beautiful large wooden bowl carved out of Bigleaf Maple, and a couple of books ........ all gifts from our friend

Now we have to find room for them all.



The weather cooled off while we were away .............. it was so much more pleasant for sleeping!

The hottest day we had here was just under 30C in the shade in the back garden. That was HOT!

We even had a little rain .................. the gardens loved that :-)





Tec ....................... I'm so sorry to see that they are being sluggards about your driving license.
