How can anyone compete with that kind of "attraction" :-D :-D :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 29 Jul 2014 22:33

Yes, I saw some of the young "ladies" from the next village :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 29 Jul 2014 22:31

Youngsters have better things to do you know :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 29 Jul 2014 22:29

Oh well get the boy from the villages younger brother to come and water for you

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 29 Jul 2014 22:27

That's not practicle due to distance from water supply in the rear of the house unfortunately.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 29 Jul 2014 22:25

Get the man from the village to put an outside tap at the front

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 29 Jul 2014 22:23

That is true - normally I can get away with every other day, but really they need watering every day at the moment.

I can't manage a watering can anymore, so have to use the hosepipe.
The pots in the front are the biggest problem as I have to take the hose through the house.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 29 Jul 2014 22:16

We aren't used to all this hot weather, normally you wouldn't need to do them as often

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 29 Jul 2014 21:55

I watered them all last night, they will do for today. Haven't watered the little plants inside, but they will last till the morning.

The automatic system is a good idea - it is a bit of a chore I must say :-(

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 29 Jul 2014 21:51

Have you watered all your pots? think you need an automatic watering system to save you doing it

Yes I will order a pole online very soon.

I have to go to Wrexham for a months review. It being a month since they discharged me. Then apparently it will be three months, six months, and so on, but can go back at anytime should there be a problem.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 29 Jul 2014 21:40

You should be able to order a pole on line.

I am glad that Archie behaved during physio, it is a pity yup have to make the long trip again

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 29 Jul 2014 21:30

Good that Esme slept long enough to give you a chance to get sorted.

It is cooler here today, with a gentle breeze off the sea. I had several windows open as the house seemed to have retained the heat.
We have two Velux windows upstairs that make a big difference, but unfortunately I can't reach them now.
I have seen that there is a special pole for opening them, so I must get on, and wish I had before the heatwave.

Been to physio today locally, but next week go back to Wrexham for a monthly review.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 29 Jul 2014 21:11

Good evening Tec, I have indeed restored order, the girls are both asleep. Esme actually slept on the couch for three hours this morning.so I had time to do lots of washing and unpack the suitcase with their clothes in from the weekend (they had been away to a hotel with some friends and their children. ) My daughter is not back yet, it could be as late as 11pm before she gets back depending on how her neutron experiment went today

It is far too hot here, the thermometer in Eves little bedroom said 27 so I have opened the landing window and left her door open. I have the window open down here and there is a nice breeze, but I have tho close it before I go to bed

Hello Everyone, :-)

Linda I hope that you have restored order, and that Eve and Esme are being good children.
Today I went to physio at the local hospital - they were quite impressed with my progress with my friend Archie. He was on very best behaviour.

Sylvia - We have had a little light relief from the excessive heat for the past few days. Still warm, but bearable, 23C here today, with a breeze.

Hoping Sue and OH got away on time - such a long way home for them.

Berona your winter temps are very like ours today. We hit 29/30 C last week, and that was too hot and humid for me these days.

Hi Sue, and everyone

Sue and Mr Sue ................ safe trip home xxx

I'm glad to hear that you two ladies were well-chaperoned .......... you know what they say about sailors .....................

especially ones that have a wooden leg called Archie and a parrot on their shoulder

:-D :-D

Our hot weather has returned ............. it is about 30C in the shade in my back garden, and in the low 30s in the house.

OH has retreated back to sleeping in the basement as it is so hot in the bedroom.

The experts are saying that we will be having these high temperatures for at least the next 2 weeks

Remember Nat King Cole ....................... "The lazy hazy days of summer"

We really do need rain though ............................ we're having a very bad forest fire season because everything is so dry.

take care everyone

I am glad you got them Berona, I haven't seen Sue's yet, but they were a couple I snapped and passed on to her

She is currently hanging about at Manchester airport as they had to have the hire car back by ten this morning, but don't fly until this afternoon. It will take them a day to get back, so I hope the bad weather had passed over by then

Are you telling me that Sue is already 'leaving'? Oh dear....We have had beautiful weather (for Winter) whilst she has been away. 23c to-day. but now, the forecast is changing over the next couple of weeks and I noticed a 'severe weather warning' for Sue's area in tonight's forecast.

They seem to have had a lovely time both sight-seeing and with you. Sue has already passed on a couple of photos, which I was thrilled to get.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 29 Jul 2014 07:37

Plus two male visitors, the ladies were chaperoned, it wouldn't be seemly otherwise :-D

I hope it is cooler for you now Sylvia, it was supposed to be cooler at home yesterday, but it was 27 degrees when I left. It is going to be about 25 all week here.
