Milo did get an extra biscuit, and a hug :-D

Your poor OH :-D bet he didn't get any sympathy :-D.

I was thinking of him today. I read something in the village magazine called " The Walkers Prayer"
Quite funny :-D

I can just imagine Milo :-D I hope he got extra biscuits

You can set about redesigning your garden now.

I am well prepared for tomorrow, I have cooking to do in the morning, but I have all the ingredients chopped and ready to use in the fridge which will make things easier.

I thought I had bought everything I needed, but didn't realise there were no ordinary onions left.I was going to go into town to get some but OH said he had some on the allotment,so would go and get some once he had mowed the lawn. when he set off there were some loud rumbles of thunder,so I told him to wait, but he decided to go. He hadn't gone very far when the deluge started. He decided that as he was going to be drenched it didn't matter which direction he went it, so he continued to the allotment. He looked so funny when he got back. He had to strip off in the garage :-D At least it was warm rain

Hello, :-)

Linda I hope that your culinary preparations are completed now ready for your Yorkshire Day celebration :-)

The weather here was better than forecast today, just two light showers.
It was the village fete today. I didn't bother going, but Milo and his mother went. They held a small dog show, and Milo won the best " Golden Oldie" in show :-)
He was immensely proud and came to show his rosette :-D.

This morning I visited the garden of someone who was in a similar position to me garden wise. She was left with a garden she couldn't manage when her husband died suddenly last year.
I was very impressed with what she had done to it to make life easier, and got lots of ideas and inspiration. Her garden was simple, and beautiful, using lots of pots and containers.

Sorry I disappeared last night, but I was so tired. I hadgone to get my hair cut and took the opportunity to do a spot of shopping - well the sales are on :-D

I was really tired and went to sleep on the sofa, OH woke me up to tell me it was bedtime.

It was raining hard here yesterday evening and through the night. We are due more today. I hope it passes over and is fine for tomorrow. We are hosting the annual Yorkshire day bash for the cinema committee. Yorkshire day was yesterday, but we always have it on the nearest Sunday. Mercifully quite a few people can't come so I only have to cater for fourteen. I have just been making a list of all the food I only have to do the mains as the others will bring the sweets

Hi Sue, and everyone

Tec ............ how I envy you that train trip!

I had computer trouble this morning ............. the screen would not light up.

On the off chance that it was the monitor that was in trouble .......... we took it down to Mr Go Go Geek, our computer whiz

................... now I have a new monitor!

It is taking some getting used to ..................... it is a 22" rectangular screen, whereas I've always had square screens in the past.

Everything is stretched out ........... looking at photos of people is rather like being in the fairground Hall of Mirrors :-)

We still have our hot weather ............ but it has clouded over this afternoon, so it is now hot and muggy :-(

take care everyone

xx

No - I have some things to do around the house :-(

Goodnight Tec <3

Tecwyn Report 1 Aug 2014 23:54

So many things happened here without me seeing into the future.

The garden was paved instead of the lawn, because of the dogs.

The stairlift was put in for the Duchess as she had trouble with knees,

Also the little scooter was bought for her a couple of years ago.

Now they have been a Godsend to me.

Well I have to go to bed now,

Enjoy your Saturday - are you off to the markets?

Goodnight to you both,
Tec :-) from my favourite armchair :-D

SueMaid Report 1 Aug 2014 23:49

Pots and tubs is definately the way to go. It's good that you paved the area years ago. You wouldn't be able to get around on grass. It saves you having to get that done now.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 1 Aug 2014 23:46

I have to do something with it. I haven't been happy with it for a while, but now it's essential to make it as easy to manage as possible - so time for radical changes. there is far too much stuff in there.

Time to concentrate on pots and tubs - I can manage them.

At the moment I feel as if it's closing in on me, so time to open it up.

I can imagine you feeling that way :-) I loved seeing your garden and can see how you will be able to make it more maintenance free.

Tecwyn Report 1 Aug 2014 23:36

It is a nice peaceful place to live.

I frequently look up the mountain, and think "there are 64 million people the other side of that hill"

and I'm on this side :-D with nothing between me and the sea, that is in my veins :-D

We know why you enjoy living in your village. It's a lovely place to live and your neighbours are so friendly. I love that I can picture you out and about.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 1 Aug 2014 23:29

Yes the weather was great, and gave you a chance to have a glimpse at the village.

You wouldn't have wanted to have been here today - it was a deluge :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 1 Aug 2014 23:27

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 1 Aug 2014 23:25

:-D :-D :-D

Yes - I've become quite good at..........

bring this - fetch that - lift this - carry that :-D

imagine making ones guests make their own coffee, and cut their own cake etc. :-D

You are right - Archie is a blessing :-D

six months ago I would never have imagined that I would be getting on and off a train :-D and it can only get better.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 1 Aug 2014 23:18

It must be wonderful to find that you can manage to do these things. Archie is a blessing :-D

Lovely welcome from the children - they don't really know how to express their emotions at that age :-)

I expect that they have grown in eight weeks.

The train we went on originally brought slate down from the quarries in the 19th Century.
Run completely by volunteers now - must do it again. I also love that smell, hot oil and coal smoke.
The train runs through mountain cuttings, forests and valleys - so relaxing.

Hello Tec. It is cold and windy here although the sun is shining.

The grandchildren were so excited to see us that Joel cried. Drew just kept say "you're back!!". They all seem to have grown in the last 8 weeks :-0

The train trip sounds wonderful. We have been on the steam train in North Yorkshire that Linda mentioned. I love that smell :-)
