Hello Tec :-)

It was cold and miserable yesterday although the sun was out in the morning. We had a couple of spots of rain and that was it. We really need some rain - everything is so dry :-(

Hello, :-).

Persie,
I am sorry to see that your OH is in hospital, but on a positive side it is just as well he sought attention when he did, so that any problem with his heart beat can be regulated and put right.
Unfortunate that you too are unwell. I hope that you feel much better soon.
Take care of yourself

I have had a "fiddly" day today, doing nothing much.
It was very windy here, so I didn't go into the garden.

Linda, I hope you have a good journey to your son's, and go armed with wallpaper scrapers, mops and buckets :-D
Have you got a steamer?

SIL has been talking to him on mobile and he seems happy enough and now the younger daughter is going to ring him.. and he thought he would read his property magazine. :-)

I have just reread your post and see you mentioned a pace maker.

I hope everything will be fine, but mid house move is not a good time for this to happen.

Oh dear Persie, I hope that he is going to be OK.,a stent will open up the damaged artery in the heart wall and improve the heart beat. It is a good job he went to see the doctor

Thought I should tell you himself is in hospital.. went to A & E clinic down the road about 5.30pm, he has spent a third day in bed and was worried about pneumonia. He also told me when I got back with the messages that he nearly blacked out. A&E doctor not happy with his heart beat and he has now been whisked off in an ambulance and I have come home. Will wait to hear what to do next.. his doctor gave him antibiotics on Thursday and also told him he needs to see a cardiologist about an extra heart beat and they might put a stent in. Now this guy is talking pacemakers, but the ECG report was wheelbarrow to me, and there was talk of damaged heart muscle and that the ventricle wasn't working in co-ordination with some other part and his resting hear beat had dropped to 40.

:-(

:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

I haven't spent much time tracing other than my direct ancestors, although I do have the names of siblings, etc, and I got their marriages and children if it proved easy

Tonight (Sunday) I decided to see if I could find any more relatives who had served in WW1.

Struck gold with the first one .......... son of a gt-gt-uncle .............. but had to laugh as I read his record.

He was awarded the Military Medal for Bravery in the field 18 July 1917.

The very next thing I found was a letter dated 7 July 1915 in the file from, I guess, his Commanding Office to some higher-up, that states he left his wife Ellen before the birth of the second child on 19-9-11, does not know date of marriage nor name of the second child, and had moved in with another woman.

Having heard of his legal wife’s misconduct, he applied to no longer pay maintenance to her but to transfer it to Mrs Harrington, he would continue to pay maintenance for the children.

There was also a copy of a Magistrate’s Maintenance Order in respect to the two children, of 9/- a week that had been granted on 9 August 1911.

He was demobilized in May 1919, having reached the rank of Sergeant

from the sublime to the ridiculous!

Just lost my post.. must have been one of those green leprechauns, has probably been eating beetroot in raspberry jelly.. sorry Sylvia I don't think I will go there.

Himself has passed his cold on to me despite me being careful He is now in bed for the third day in a row.. I have to carry on, washing on line and get the groceries etc. Just don't want to get asthma as an afterthought... I have not had a cold for several years because I have been so careful.

I was always the one that got one or two every year and they would last at least three weeks. The last one had just started when I got an asthma attack, ambulance to hospital and then on the nebulizer several times.. went home and it was all over in a couple of days

my other post that did not happen was a lot shorter.. .
