Oh that is great Tec, it is so good that you can get out now. I am glad that you can manage the wheelchair, I was worried about that

You will have to take your key to the main dealer to get a new battery put in

Hi Sue, and everyone

Tec ................ it sounds as if you had a wonderful day :-)

Just what you needed <3

It's cold here today!

It's about 17C outside, and dark. I had to have the lights on in the hosue most of the morning

and, no, I am not really complaining :-)

It's very pleasant after all that hot weather :-D

Hello, :-)

I have indeed been rampaging round the Welsh countryside. :-D

Although I couldn't open the car using the electronic fob, I discovered that after opening it manually, using the key hidden inside the fob :-( the car started first time. It appears that the batteries inside the fobs have died probably due to not being used. The actual car battery was not dead, so no need for jump leads.

Having got the car started, and persuading Archie that he was coming, like it or not, I set off, taking the scenic route through the mountains, down the beautiful valley that skirts Tal-y-Llyn lake, and back home. A sort of circular tour of 60 miles. I didn't stop anywhere, just drove.
It was a beautiful sunny morning, little traffic, and I thoroughly enjoyed the drive.

Got back in time to join two friends for lunch at the village pub.
This afternoon I practiced getting the wheelchair into the back of the car. Easier than I though it would be.

So a good day
:-D

I keep nodding off Berona, maybe it is my glasses :-D

Well I have seen the news and there are no reports of rampaging Welsh motorists, so either Tec hasn't got his battery charged yet, or he is behaving himself. Probably the former knowing him :-D

Berona Report 31 Aug 2014 12:25

Tec - so very pleased to know you are mobile once more. Take it easy now. It can't be easy getting in and out of the car without help, so I hope you will be careful and NOT be too independent to ask people to go with you.

Sue - it's not like you to be out of action. Hope you are improved by now.

Linda - I hope that your family are much improved when you go there again.All that travelling can't help you much if you are not the best.

I'm fine now. Most of the bruises have gone. I'm just sleepy all the time and 'nod off' at any old time. I think it's because I'm wearing the broken glasses, which are lop-sided and I keep having to push them up my nose. Otherwise, I found an old pair which fit better, but make things look a bit fuzzy and I think that's what is making me sleepy - when I strain so much to see things clearly, the eyes are tired. Roll on Tuesday

Hi Sue,

I'm so glad that you are feeling better xxx

We have cooler temperatures, and showers here :-)

I don't usually book this train trip until mid-September .................. but the company has cut the winter service back to 2 a week from 3 for The Canadian from here to Toronto, and to 3 a week from 6 for The Ocean from Montreal to Halifax.

These cuts were in effect the last time we travelled for Christmas in 2012 ........... but I looked at the site early in the week, and discovered they were booking up FAST, especially on The Ocean!

In fact, when I first looked on Monday, all the Sleeper Only (meals not included) accommodation on The Ocean was full ................. within a couple of days they had added the Sleeper Plus Meals service for the Christmas period, and that is really early for them to show that!

The rail company does tend to add carriages as needed to accommodate passengers, but you can't always guarantee it.

So I decided to go ahead and book the trip going as I was using the points for that, and wait about a week to book the homeward one.

Plus, I also discovered that two of the "hotel booking" sites that I sometimes use were showing "no vacancies for the dates that you want".

I have discovered that several of the hotels we use do give a better deal on their own site, especially when booking early :-) ................... but I like to at least double check against the booking sites.

so, all in all, I decided that I had better get my act together!

I'll look forward to the photo's Sue - some of the orchids are beautiful.

Well I'd better get myself to bed now,

Enjoy your day, and Drew's party :-)

Goodnight,

I don't need anymore cane furniture or plants but somehow they follow me home :-0

My succulents have had to go under cover because of the rain - I hope I don't lose any. On the other hand my orchids are just about to burst into bloom - I will send you photos when they do.

Tecwyn Report 30 Aug 2014 23:45

My neighbour took me to a fabulous garden centre a few weeks ago, and I came back with one small plant, the same type that I have in the porch, and nine tropical fish to put in my tank.

She expected me to come home with a car full of plants, but as you know, there is no space in my garden for anything else - I need to clear out :-)

I definitely don't need any furniture - not even cane :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 30 Aug 2014 23:40

Garden centres mmmm? and you tease me about my little indulgence in cane wear ;-)

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 30 Aug 2014 23:34

Yes It will make a change to visit my daughter sometimes. There are so many places I want to go to - like garden centres :-D

Been a fairly nice day here, a bit cool.
Tomorrow will be cloudy, but the warmer weather is returning mid week :-)

It is very nice of Drew to invite you to his birthday party.
The time will come of course when that won't be the case :-) as he will be far too grown up :-D
You can still go to the twins parties though :-)

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 30 Aug 2014 23:28

You will be able to visit your daughter too in fine weather. Amazing what a difference a little piece of paper makes.

It is sunny this morning :-D

Although Drew's birthday was last weekend he is having his birthday party with his friends today. He has insisted that we be there :-D :-(. I think we are getting past children's birthday parties but we will accept his invitation while he still wants us around :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 30 Aug 2014 23:20

Glad that you are on the mend Sue, but take it easy for a few days, if you can.

I think it will make a lot of difference to the Duchess to see me more regularly. Also I can keep a closer eye on her care.
She must have felt abandoned sometimes. In the winter months my daughter won't always be able to get here in severe weather, so I don't have to worry about that problem now

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 30 Aug 2014 23:14

I've missed Linda again :-(

I am back to my old self although still a little tired. You just have to allow these virus things to work their way through.

It's wonderful that you will be able to see the Duchess more often. I'm sure she will also benefit from seeing you more often.

Berona - what a worry you are. Please be careful <3

Sylvia - I haven't even thought of Christmas :-0 Obviously you have to get in early when travelling around that time.

~~~~~to Mersey <3
Good Morning Sue, :-)
How are you today? are you feeling any better? I hope so.
Yes I was so pleased to get my licence again. It will make a huge difference.
Came as quite a surprise, as only three weeks ago they wrote to say my licence wouldn't be reviewed for at least three months, which depressed me greatly.
Anyway, I have it now so can get driving again, first time since before Christmas
SueMaid Report 30 Aug 2014 23:03
