Of course you should spend Christmas with the Duchess. Hopefully the weather will be fine and you can see your daughter on Boxing Day. Oh how life changes.

Yes - I am planning to go on Thursday, and then regularly at least once a week.

My daughter asked me to go to her for Christmas, but I want to spend Christmas Day with the Duchess at the home.
I just couldn't bear to be somewhere else enjoying myself knowing she is in there.

Maybe now I can drive I can go to my daughter's on Boxing Day if the weather is ok.

I think it's wonderful that you will be able to see the Duchess more often :-)

It is sad when someone cuts themselves off from their siblings. Some of us have tried to approach him over the years, but it was just polite conversation, and quite clear that he didn't really want to know, so you give up.
There was never a falling out, or disagreement with him.
He always was a bit of a loner.

My mother, shortly before she died, asked me to look out for him, but how can you? when there's no response or contact.

Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing my sisters. I expect we will go places.

They sure are Tec :-( one of my brothers cut himself off from the family. He didn't even come to my father's funeral. I'm in contact with him now and things are going quite well but he doesn't want contact with anyone else.

My sister from Yorkshire phones me every week. She came to see me in hospital in January, but unfortunately I was out of it at that time, so don't remember.

So that just leaves one brother, but he has cut himself off from the family for many years - though I did see him at mum's funeral.

Families are very complex situations :-(

Wow - it's all go for you now. It's great to see you planning ahead and having so much contact with your family :-)

Spring is on the horizon Sue :-)

It is wonderful to just jump in the car and go. feels like a new lease of life.

I will be seeing both my sisters over the next few weeks. I haven't seen my youngest sister for eight years since our mother's funeral. She is coming up from Essex with her husband and staying in a caravan outside Barmouth.
The other sister who I am very close to, is coming down from Yorkshire the following week, and staying with her friend in the village.

Should be fun :-)

Goodnight Linda - sleep well.

It's was a dreadful day yesterday - wind and rain. The temperature dropped quite a bit by mid afternoon and it was bitterly cold. This morning we have the wind but hopefully no rain. I may stay in bed today :-D

Poor Esme - it's such a shame that she is used to being sick :-(. What do you do when she brings up her meal? Does she have to wait for her next meal or do you try again?

Having your licence back has already made such a difference Tec.

I had better go to sleep as I have to be up at seven.

Enjoy your day out Tec

Yes Linda - I got a blue badge last year when it was difficult to walk far, so it will be useful now.

Do you have your own blue badge, so you can park close to shops

Hello friends :-D I will read back to see what you have been up to.

Tecwyn Report 2 Sep 2014 22:53

I want to go up to Rhuthin to the nursery that specialise in those plants I grow in the back porch.

I went to the village shop today in the car, instead of the scooter. First time I've walked into the shop since Christmas - so a big cheer went up :-D

It will do you good to see a bit of the countryside and to stop for a nice lunch of course. Not that there is anything wrong with your cooking of course

Tecwyn Report 2 Sep 2014 22:44

I should be able to get one elsewhere - rather disappointing, but never mind.

My brother checked the tyre pressures on the car today, they were fine. I have bought an electronic pump which will be easier than struggling with air lines on garage forecourts.

I may go out for a long drive tomorrow, then go to see the Duchess on Thursday - she will be surprised to see me on my own, and driving the car
