I think if your daughter was there they wouldn't mind Tec, you could ask what they thought

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 5 Sep 2014 22:56

Yes - I can see the difficulty. My father would sometimes take his seatbelt off and open the door before I had fully stopped :-(

I hope your sister is well Linda - please pass on our regards next time you speak to her :-)

The training day went well but sadly we had to tell one of our new people that she couldn't work in patient care. She used a walking stick the whole day and found the stairs very difficult. She understood but became quite teary. There are other areas she can become involved in and she was happy that she could still be very useful.

Good Morning Sue :-)

Hope the training sessions are going well.

I would love to take the Duchess out to lunch, but don't know how the home would take it.
You see the psychiatrist has put a "Section 12" order on her, which means they can lawfully sop her from leaving the building without a member of staff. This is for her own safety, as she is confused, and anything could happen.
Frankly, I would at least prefer to have my daughter with me in case she became "difficult"
I remember taking my father out in the car when he had Alzheimers, and he tried to get out of the car while it was still moving. I'm sure she wouldn't do that, but you never know with that illness.

Sorry, it was my sister, so the call took ages

I was wondering about taking the Duchess out, but then she might think she was being taken home and if she decided to wander off Tec might have trouble with her

Hello everyone :-D

Linda - I had a training group yesterday so I was out of the door very early.

I hope the move goes well for the youngsters - always a stressful time but when the house isn't really ready it is even worse.

Sylvia - I'm glad you have renewed your subs. I really only stay a member so I can chat too.

Tec - I'm pleased you had a good visit with the Duchess. Would she find it confusing if you took her out for lunch? What a difference getting back your licence has made.

Tecwyn Report 5 Sep 2014 22:01

Yes I went to see the Duchess today. It was nice to drive there and spend more time than usual with her.
She was fine, and appeared happy.
She was pleased that I'm back driving again, but I didn't make a big thing of it.
I have my freedom, but must remember she doesn't.

Hello Tec,

|did you manage to see the Duchess today?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 5 Sep 2014 21:51

Hello, :-)

Hello Sylvia - Glad you have renewed. I think the subs are reasonable, though I don't do my tree on here anymore.

Linda builders are in the main the most unreliable profession imo. I have known one turn up a week late, didn't even mention it, just carried on.

"See you tomorrow" expect him in three days :-(

Sorry, I had a phone call.

Getting a builder is so difficult,so they are a law unto themselves

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 5 Sep 2014 20:48

not very promising then :-(

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Sep 2014 20:41

I only spoke to OH briefly, but I don't think they had managed to speak to the builder, he has been very elusive all along

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 5 Sep 2014 20:39

that is annoying!

I guess the builder didn't give any reason for not turning up? :-(

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Sep 2014 20:34

Of course it is worth it Sylvia :-D

It has been a glorious day here as well. I am on my own because OH has gone to help my son to move house. Although they have had the new house for a few weeks now, they still had their rented house in Oxford, but they have to leave that this weekend.

The annoying thing is that the builder was supposed to be knocking an internal wall down today, but didn't turn up. This is the biggest job so they wanted it doing before the furniture arrived

Hi Sue, and everyone

it's another lovely sunny day here ...... and it is getting warmer again, up into the mid-20s.

We often have a week or so of very warm sunny weather in September .................... the so-called "Indian Summer"

The thing I like is that the nights are cool :-)

Linda ......... glad your new glasses are now correct, and you can see :-)

I have renewed for another year ................. they said the sub would be £8.96, which is £1 more than I have been paying since at least 2007. OH actually buys me the sub .......... and I thought it was worth him paying for me to chat to you lovely people :-D
