I went down to the allotment this morning to find that we had had a break in.

They had used a tool from the greenhouse of the person who has the other half of the allotment to break into our shed. As far as I can see nothing is missing, there are lots of tools in there, but nothing obvious is gone. OH isn't here for a few days, so until he comes back I cant be sure.

I think they must have been disturbed because they had taken down one of the strings of onions hanging up to dry in the greenhouse and put it in the bag we use to carry things back to the house. That was on the bench outside. They had also picked some tomatoes and cucumbers from the other greenhouse, but left them on the ground. There were lots of red tomatoes waiting to be picked in our greenhouse, but they hadn't touched them

Happy new glasses Berona, I am relieved that they got mine right on only the second go. They are annoying me though because I am constantly pushing them up. I will have to wait until Friday to have them refitted. I will collect my new sunglasses then. I always have a second pair made up as sunglasses, I have exactly the same frame so that I can swap from one pair to the other without my eyes needing to adjust. With varifocals the shape of the frame makes a difference as to where you need to look through.

Hi Berona xx

It's only on Saturday that we sometimes have 2 trips to the coffee shop

Every other day, we go in the afternoon .............. but Saturday morning is the "normal" time. It's just sometimes we have time in the afternoon as well.

I don't drink coffee at any other time ................... OH has several cups a day, both instant and "real". It never seems to affect him :-)

Good to hear that you have your new glasses.

I'm here, Tec. Nice to know that you missed me. Good to know that you have been getting around - especially to see the Duchess and to get to the garden centres.
There will be no stopping you now. Hope the new wheelchair is what you want. I can see you becoming one of those people who has a fleet of their favourite means of transport - and yours will be wheelchairs, scooters, etc. I wouldn't mind having a fleet like that myself.
I collected my new specs on Thursday and at last - I can see!!! They are bi-focal, but I can't see the line and it is gradual. Great for wearing all the time, but not the best for the computer. Luckily, I am a trained typist and don't need to watch the screen, but I do like to check it - and it is slightly 'fuzzy'. However, they are good for reading anything in my hand and I still use the full reader I have had for four years, when I read a book or the kindle. I can always use the new ones as an excuse for making typos on here and hope you will all forgive me.

Sylvia - I envy you with your morning and afternoon coffee. If I have more than one cup of coffee per day, I don't sleep so good at night - and that's only weak powdered coffee, too. I have a machine which takes pods, but rarely use it.

Hope you all have a lovely day Sue with your family,

Goodnight,

Where's Berona? :-)

SueMaid Report 6 Sep 2014 23:52

Do you think that the children would appreciate cane furniture as gifts - somehow I think not :-D

Yes it will be a busy morning but we love having the family over for a meal.

Sounds like you will also have a lovely family day on Monday. I'm so pleased that you are seeing your sister and so much of your brother :-)

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 6 Sep 2014 23:43

You could always buy cane furniture as gifts for the children :-D :-D :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 6 Sep 2014 23:41

Great when the family get together - must mean so much to you to have everyone together that can make it.
A busy morning for you I expect in the kitchen.

I have company on Monday. My sister and her OH, and my brother and his OH are all coming here, and then we are all going out for lunch.
Should be fun :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 6 Sep 2014 23:38

Ahhhh - I did in fact see a cane table but I now have nowhere to put anymore outside furniture. I don't want to overcrowd our outside sitting areas so I will be very restrained for now on....maybe ;-)

We don't get frosts here Tec so I don't have to worry about that. I would like the weather to warm up a little.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 6 Sep 2014 23:35

It was the offensive side to her humour that put me off but as you say she is gone now and that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

We have the family coming for lunch today. Always fun :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 6 Sep 2014 23:32

Plenty of time to buy Spring plants Sue, and you could get harsh weather yet, although I don't suppose you get frosts.
Good to look though, as you may get some ideas.

I know you weren't looking for bamboo tables :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 6 Sep 2014 23:28

I suppose her particular brand of dark humour must have appealed to many people.
Her shows were a sell out.

It seemed that no subject was taboo, and she didn't mind who or what she offended. In that she was consistent. :-|

but now she is gone, and we should respect that

Goodnight Linda - sleep tight <3

We managed to get to the markets yesterday, Tec. There wasn't much there as the ground was still wet from the rain. However it was sunny and the Spring plants stalls were there so something to look at. I didn't buy because I don't know what I want yet.
