I love London too Sue,

last time I visited was years ago, I seem to remember how dirty it had gone, with litter everywhere. Leicester Square was a disgrace.

Remember when the streets were hosed down every morning at dawn, They don't do that anymore.

I am sulking :-P

I love London - so much to do and see.

Perhaps you will get another opportunity next summer.

There are so many things I'd like to visit in London, but can't do them all.
Not interested in the usual touristy places as I've seen them so many times.

I had a day out in the centre of London in the summer, I was going to the National Portrait gallery, but I got sidetracked by the National Gallery, so I still want to go therE

For goodness sake, don't sulk Sue :-|

Good Morning Sue :-)

I'm so sorry, I didn't see you - must have snuck in between posts :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 28 Sep 2014 23:00

Yes everywhere would have to be by black cab, as I couldn't negotiate the tube now.
I want to go to the National Portrait Gallery, Tate Modern, V&A,
Camden,
and go along the serpentine, for old time sake :-D

Mmmm......I know I don't take up much room but has no one noticed I am here :-(

LindainHerriotCountry Report 28 Sep 2014 22:56

That sounds good Tec, it will do you good to have a break. Most of the attractions are accessible now. The only problem is travelling around, but it won't cost that much to splurge out on the black cabs

Tecwyn Report 28 Sep 2014 22:50

Yes I thought that was rotten luck :-D but it did make laugh :-D

I am planning to go to London for a few days in the Spring with my daughter and SIL.
there are a few places I want to visit. They are going down in a few weeks so will check out the hotel to see if it's suitable for me.
I have stayed there years ago, and I seem to remember that it would be alright.

Quite looking forward to that :-D

Hello you two :-D

Only able to have a fortnight in the Maldives :-0 what's the world coming to :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 28 Sep 2014 22:43

Oh dear that really is tough luck Tec, fancy having to make do with the Maldives

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 28 Sep 2014 22:34

Well it might be better again by the time you return.

I don't know if I put it on the thread, but I had an e-mail from my SIL who lives in Hong Kong.
She and her OH were planning on a months tour of the States, but unfortunately he can't now take a month from his work for the Chinese Government, so they are going to "have to make do" with a fortnight in the Maldives.

Oh how sad :-D I really feel for them :-D

We are only going for a week, so I will care about it once I get back

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 28 Sep 2014 22:22

It's good at this time of year to make the most of any good weather we are lucky enough to get.
Looks like the weather is going to break down later in the week, but you won't care about that :-)

It was really hot here this afternoon as well. oH had bought some pansies for the hanging basket and a couple of pots so I put those in

Hello, :-)

Another lovely warm sunny day - what a great September it has been.

Linda I had an e-mail from Lansarote today, it was 30C, unusually warm for late September apparently.

I spent some time in the garden hacking at bushes I could reach.

It is one of the Spanish Canary Islands Berona, but it is just off the coast of Africa, below Morocco, close to the Western Sahara which is why it is nice and warm at this time of year
