I could suffer a cafeteria style, especially if the food is good - it's only for a few days.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 29 Sep 2014 22:11

The only thing is that the breakfast room is a bit cafeteria like, although the food is good, a hang over from its days as a conference centre. We had an evening meal there because it was pouring with rain, so we didn't want to go out. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced

It looks good to me, and very reasonable going by London prices - wheelchair access, and lifts. Sounds ideal to me.

So I won't have to sleep in a cardboard box after all :-D

It was recommended to my sister by someone who stays there because it is so close. We were very impressed by it, especially the size of the single rooms. My brother stays in London a lot and he always goes there now. I used a price comparison site and got a very good deal

Your old Kindle was much more fun :-D

real howlers sometimes :-D

I have sent the Wesley Hotel webpage to my daughter. They are going down at half term, maybe they might stay there.
They usually stay somewhere close to Euston

Well we are all packed and ready to go. There is supposed to be wifi, but the reviews say it is not very good, so I will have to wait and see

LindainHerriotCountry Report 29 Sep 2014 09:12

Hello Sylvia, I hate early appointments as well. OH is at the doctors now, just for his annual blood test,

I have made an appointment for after we get back from holiday to get my pneumonia jab. I did go for it earlier in the year, but I had such a bad chest infection they wouldn't give it to me. They told me to wait a few weeks, but by then I was in my London routine, so I have just got round to rescheduling it.

I have never had a cholesterol test, so I asked for one of those at the same time, but it seems I have to see the doctor to ask for one. What a waste of his time, anyway I have an appointment for later the same day.

Then a card has arrived giving us the times for the drop in clinic for the flu jabs. Most of them are while we are away, but there is one on the evening of the day I have the other appointments. I don't want to go three times in a day, so I will ring to see if I can get the two jabs together

it actually is a lovely Fall day here ............... the sun is shining, blue sky, about 18C

But there was fog early this morning, the shadows are long, and the nights are getting down to around 12 or 13C

so definitely NOT summer :-)

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning, at 10am

I don't DO early mornings!

But he has switched his time in the office from Thursday afternoon to Monday morning :-(

The rest of his time is spent in the Emergency Dept of one of the local hospitals ............... that's what Family Practice Residents have to do here, so they can do the dual duty in a small town.

Ah well ............. OH will take me, and then I can come home on the bus ............ it's just for new prescriptions.

I think I will have to make another appointment later for the flu shot .................. I think the vaccine isn't being distributed until mid-Ocotber here.

Joel is very clever with his games but I never understand is instructions - he talks too fast. He was told off by his mum awhile back because he told me that I was silly for not remembering what he had told me. He was getting a little impatient with me :-\
