Hopping grr, why haven't you phoned the stair lift people to get the cables moved?

Sylvia where are you, I need you to growl at Tec as well.

You could take a bottle of water to the kettle to fill it, but making a flask earlier on makes sense

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 2 Dec 2014 21:43

Yes that makes sense Linda - not good hopping along the landing carrying a kettle :-(
I will soon get organised.

My brother is coming tomorrow. He is going to put a picture up on the bedroom wall.

I plan to visit the Duchess on Thursday as I have Milo as a lodger from Friday to Monday - he is ok to leave for a couple of hours, but I'd rather not.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Dec 2014 21:35

There you go then Tec, safer to make a flask up downstairs in the kitchen and you can carry the flask and a mug up and down in a carrier bag, so it won't be a problem on he stair lift. If you had a kettle, you would have to take it to the bathroom to fill it

Thank you for your good wishes. One more semester Linda but I think he wants to do a couple of electives in the second semester next year. He is doing some work at the Uni over summer.

You are all set for cold winter nights Tec - sounds very cosy.

OH snores but he has a CPAP machine. I was worried more about the sleep apnea than the snoring.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 2 Dec 2014 21:18

That's a good idea Linda. I do have a small flask to make coffee in, and I never eat supper so food isn't a problem.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Dec 2014 21:11

Depending on what you want to drink, would it be easier to take a flask up with you Tec. Mum used to make a flask up and take it with some supper into the bedroom, so she didn't have to get up again

Congratulations to your son Sue - must be a huge relief to him, and to you I expect :-D
Hope he enjoys his celebrations, and the obligatory lemonade :-D

You are having strange weather. It was a lovely sunny day here, but a very cold wind - too cold to hang about outside.

Tecwyn Report 2 Dec 2014 21:04

Yes I am very pleased with my bedroom tv :-) it didn't take them any time at all. Drilled a hole through the wall to bring a feed in from the dish.
Stapled the cable along the skirting board, and installed the tv - done, and they were very tidy too.

Now I can go to bed earlier, taking my laptop with me. I have ordered a tray to put it on.

Now all I want is a kettle up there to make a drink. I have to take a handful of tablets before I go to sleep, so won't be wanting to come downstairs in the cold to take them.

I don't snore, and neither did the Duchess. However, when my SIL visits he snores very loudly, enough to raise the rafters :-D.
I don't know how my daughter copes, but apparently she has been known to elbow him in the ribs, which is momentarily effective :-D

Linda I have a mental vision of you wafting across the stage at Covent Garden as one of the little swans - quite a vision :-D

Congratulations to your son Sue. Does he have one more year of his course still to go?

"Lift her up when required" - that gave me the giggles :-D :-D

What an odd couple of days we have had weather wise. Hot and sunny during the day and massive thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening. We have lost power twice and so we have had to turn off various things and then go through turning them back on again. Last night was loud enough to keep us awake.

We can relax in our house now. My son passed all his exams very soundly including one he thought he would fail. He is off to stay at a friend's house up the coast for a couple of days with a couple of other friends to celebrate.

I hope you are pleased with your TV Tec.

All is calm here, eve is in bed and fast asleep and daddy is upstairs trying to get Esme to sleep,, personally I think he is having a nap as well.

I collected Eve from school and she wanted to play ballet. She used to go to lessons before she started school, but hasn't been since the start of summer because they weren't on in the holidays and were during the day. They have just found her a new class nearby on a Saturday morning, so she starts this week. I haver been the ballet teacher and have managed to remind her of a lot of the steps she had forgotten. We have also watched The Nutcracker two days in a row. She twirls in front of the TV copying what they do and I lift her up when required.

When my youngest was studying she would use the computer which was then in the downstairs part of our bedroom. She would do last minute assignments, type them up in the early hours of the morning to take in same day. She would get A s as well and one of her friends said to me how G never did a rough copy first.

Anyway one night himself was snoring and I don't snore much but on this particular night I was doing some sort of breathing out whistling in my sleep. She got out the tape recorder and stood on a chair and recorded us. Played it back to us the next night and you could also hear her giggling as well despite trying to muffle it. Himself has a breathing machine now thank goodness.

I am sre the older generation thought you were outrageous Persie

I woke up to hear Eve saying Hanma, Hanma so I stumbled up to get her. They have a stair gate at the top of the stairs so she can't come down at night. I brought her down and put her in my bed , then looked at the clock _ 4.58am. She was bright and cheery, but I told her it was the middle of the night, so she had to go back to sleep. I tried to stay awake until she was asleep, because I snore so loudly. When the alarm went off at seven, she was fast asleep, snuggled up to me and snoring gently.. When she woke up, she told me that I had been snoring very loud :-D

I walked her to school and she showed me round her classroom, I am going to pick her up this afternoon so she can come back and play with me instead of going to after school club which she doesn't really like.

Esme is supposed to be going to nursery, but she is still asleep at 10am,so her dad is just leaving her put. Pity she doesn't sleep soundly all night, he had to put her dummy back in seventeen times during the night. The poor sleep pattern is a symptom of her genetic syndrome, not just because she is an awkward baby

Do hope the rest and relaxation cruise works for your daughter. She sounds like she needs to get away from it all.

We went to Auckland to sign legal papers today. Then we walked down Queen Street (the main shopping area). We have had people busking for quite some time in the city so was used to that but now men (never women for some reason) shove paper cups at you asking for money or just sit there on the ground with a cap in front of them. I grew up in this city and begging was something I saw overseas not here.

I would like to be young again though, I love some of the fashions, but I also see some that I have to think I wonder what that is about. Maybe the older generation thought the same of me when I was a teenager. :-S

Had a nice lunch yesterday with my friend and her little boy. Xavier is about a month - two months younger than August, he never says a word whereas August is quite the opposite and has an extensive vocabulary and knowledge of numbers and can spell his name and his parents names. Xavier has an older brother and sister and they seem to make all his decisions for him.
