Berona Report 26 Jun 2013 02:39

Hello all. Most of you asleep by now. It was raining this morning, but the sun is now shining, although more rain forecast. Not as bad as where Sue is. Ours are just the occasional shower. Temp only reached 13 yesterday. Hopefully 15 to-day.

Diane - I feel for you very much. It was a big enough shock for me to learn that we have lost Sandie - and I only knew her from posting here. My sympathy goes out to you on the loss of your friend - and also, the loss of your little companion, Flick, although I know you knew this one was coming - it still hurts when it happens and you did the right thing by her. Try not to let it get you down. I hope you are getting out more and getting over your depression. Don't let it get the better of you.

Hello all

Diane ... Sorry to see that Flick has departed this world,,, we were so busy talking about our lovely Sandie. xx

Tec.. dare I ask how come you were on John's list.. He left me off and I have spoken to him and I was not charming by any means.

I have been a bit outspoken of late with another member but apart from that have not been on the boards that much.

Today we are having lunch with our younger daughter - she is up from Wellington.. she sent me a video of what the storm had done.. this is the area we will be end of August and as she says it will be cleaned up before then..

It is a lovely area on the coast there when the weather is behaving though we have been there in the rain and a bit of a storm but nothing like they were experiencing the other week.

I will message you later Carole..xx

Love and leave you have great days and nice sleeps...

Persie

I need to keep my eyes open so I can tell my OH how to drive :-D

Diane

Diane Report 25 Jun 2013 23:13

Tec your friend probaly hit the steering wheel or airbag on inpact but it sound's as though the other driver wasn't wearing his seat belt if he went through the window.

Well as I had little sleep last night I'm feeling very tired so I will say Good night Linda and Tec, enjoy your day Sue, Berona, Persie, Huia, Carole and Sylvia

Amanda if you look in I hope you are having nice weather too, good night.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 25 Jun 2013 23:11

I always close my eyes when OH drives, it is much better that way :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 25 Jun 2013 23:10

That stretch of road terrifies me Linda, if you meet something big coming down, there's nowhere to go.
I was originally the old drovers road, and there is still an old disused toll house at one end. Really it is just a shelf cut into the mountain.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 25 Jun 2013 23:08

I was thinking that Linda. No airbags in the car either by the sounds of it.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 25 Jun 2013 23:06

What a terrible accident Tec, I hope your friend is OK. It sounds like the other driver may not have had a seatbelt on.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 25 Jun 2013 23:02

We have a huge boulder across the mouth to our cave to repel boarders, and the cave is hidden by a waterfall :-D

Diane my friend is in hospital with a chest injury, but apparently not serious. I understand the other driver went through the windscreen :-0.
The road was shut for three hours, and as it's the only road in, that caused chaos.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 25 Jun 2013 22:59

We had to swim through the moat to get to the front door :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 25 Jun 2013 22:57

Linda you must have had your eyes closed :-D the road just drops away to the sea.

Sue has Linda also got a drawbridge across the moat? I just bet she has :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 25 Jun 2013 22:57

Of course it didn't keep us out, Linda - Aussies are very persistent :-D

Diane

Diane Report 25 Jun 2013 22:56

Glad you got the reply Sue :-)

Tec I'm glad your friend wasn't badly hurt and hope the other driver is ok.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 25 Jun 2013 22:55

The moat is full of crocodiles Sue, it was supposed to keep Aussies out, but it didn't work :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 25 Jun 2013 22:52

That sounds dreadful Tec. I'm glad your friend wasn't seriously hurt but it doesn't sound good for the other driver.

I love looking in old historic houses in Britain. So much history. Of course Linda has a moat around her house but she won't admit to it ;-)

I did come in from the Dolthingy end. there was a steep hill coming down, but I didn't realise it was on a cliff edge
