I slept better last night, but still woke several times. Better is not how, I would describe it, slightly improved will do I think. Still, I am getting there and will be fighting fit by tomorrow

We decided to go for a drive today. We went up into the highlands where the sun shone but it was sooooo cold. We had a lovely lunch in a bakery/cafe where we have been before. They make the best quiches :-)

Hello Berona, 19 sounds nice, I think we are supposed to get rain this afternoon, but we shall see.

Believe me girls are not any better at keeping student houses any cleaner than boys. Before my daughter left, I taught her how to clean a toilet etc.

The problem is that they don't seem to grasp the concept that if you just do a little bit of cleaning regularly, then things stay looking good. They let it get to such a stage that it would take a long time to sort it out, so they leave it and some longsuffering mother gets to sort it out

Hello all. Another nice day with sunshine and a temp of 19. Can't complain about that in winter, although we have cold nights and very nippy mornings. It was 1degree on the mountains this morning. Luckily, the wind was not blowing my way from there. In fact, there was no wind, but I still had my aircon on for an hour to take the chill off the air before breakfast. It was nice after that.

Grand daughter has her own room, and they share the kitchen, bathroom/shower etc.
I don't know if girls are any better than lads at keeping the place clean. Doubt if my grand daughter has ever done any cleaning :-D, but she can cook cakes :-(

I think your daughter is very brave helping your granddaughter to move into her house. Five giggling girls :-0 :-0

When my older son moved into army lines my daughter and I went to visit him. There were four young men living in a small unit. The kitchen and bathroom were horrible and we had to resist the urge to clean them. Of course when they knew there would be an inspection they gave the place a good clean but in between I'm sure they didn't even think of it :-(

Well, I will turn in, I am tired because I have been coughing such a lot during the night

I have bought her a ballet bag to keep her kit in and a tutu to play in. It isn't much, but she doesn't know that. She also has a child trust fund, so we put a fair bit of money into that at Christmas and her birthday. As she gets older no doubt we will have to buy her more expensive presents. I always take her things every time we go down

Good that you have sunshine Sue, after all that rain recently - makes things look much more cheerful on a winters day.

We have rain tomorrow, and Thursday, but getting warmer and dryer towards the weekend.

My daughter phoned this evening to say they were back from Southampton having moved grand daughter out of Halls and into the house. She is exhausted.
She said it was chaotic with five giggly girls all moving in at once.
Went to vacuum the room, but the hoover was dead.
Daughter said she looked in the oven, but quickly shut the door, and ran away
