The Lions/Wallabies game has been advertised on the telly constantly. I don't really like the rugby but it will be interesting to see how the game goes. Can't you pop over to watch it? There's a spare bedroom here if you remember :-D

How nice to have a wattle bird in the garden

I think you should go to the Lions V Wallabies rugby test match today - I would love to go, and I expect you will thrash us today :-)

You could be right, Tec. In fact that's what my OH said when I told him yesterday that I should stay home and do some housework.

I am watching a wattle bird enjoying the nectar in the grevillea shrub. The family visit regularly.

Good Morning Sue,

I think you should go out and play in the sun while you can.
The jobs will wait for you - they always do :-)

Linda glad you arrived safely, have fun tomorrow :-D

We are safely here, we managed to set off a bit earlier than planned, so arrived about 8.40pm. Eve was in bed but not asleep as she had had a sleep at nursery, which she doesn't normally do these days.

She heard us and insisted on coming down,so we got to play. She was horribly tired by the time she did go to bed, so hopefully she will sleep a little longer tomorrow morning. That of course is just wishful thinking on my part.

I am glad that you are pleased with the fireplace Tec, but don't overdo it in the heat

I will pass all your cuddles on to Eve in the morning.

Goodnight everyone

Hello Tec and Diane :-) Looks like another sunny day here but I need to spend some time indoors as I have let a few things go. We have spent as much time as we can out and about in the sun.

Linda - hope you have arrived safely <3

Dull and wet here this morning, but the sun appeared this afternoon, and now we are promised a heatwave for the next week :-).

The new fireplace arrived today - at last- looks very nice and I can't wait to see it installed. That may happen next week hopefully. That means that I will need to clear everything, and cover everything, as it will be messy getting the old one out.

Linda if you look in I hope you arrived safely at Eve's - cwtches from me to Wonder Woman :-D

Hello Linda - I meant to ask how long you will be away?

It is all relative Berona, it can be humid here, but nothing like it is in Florida for example.

It is forecast to be 28 in London on Sunday which given that the houses are not built to stay cool can be a problem.

OH has gone off walking, he had to go today as it is his turn to lead the walk. It is a fairly short walk,so should be finished by about 4pm, he will have a quick shower and we will leave, just in time to hit all of the commuter traffic on the way down.

He hasn't taken the car, so I have to try and pack everything into it. We have had all of the bay equipment and clothes stored here and they all have to go back, it is going to be a work of art to fit it all in

Do they still have all those different coloured sands on the Isle of Wight? I bought a souvenir - a little glass man, filled with striped sands. I got it all the way home to Australia before I dropped it and broke it - and sand went everywhere!

First time I went to England, we seemed to have only three weeks of summer. Not very hot, although very nice - except that it was so humid, I felt languid all the time - I had no energy. I feel languid when we have high humidity here too, but we don't seem to have it as high or as often as I knew it to be when I was over there.

Hello everyone

I liked Ankara but am not sure I would go back there now.. a friend of mine is from Turkey, he met his wife to be in China at University, she is a New Zealander with Dutch parents.

The pair of them can converse in Chinese when they don't want others to know what they are saying. I think she is fairly conversant in the Turkish language (whatever that is) now.. They have been back there a few times his parents and sisters are there and his brother is in the States. Neither of the daughters have been out of Turkey.

I can remember London was often stifling, and airless among the tall buildings in the City.

The English Channel is frequently shrouded in a cold sea fog, when the sun can be out on both the French and English sides.

Well I'm off to bed now,
Enjoy your day Sue, and the weather if you can,

Goodnight,
Tec :-)

SueMaid Report 3 Jul 2013 23:20

On one of our visits it was very warm for most of the summer. We went to London and it was so hot on one of the days - we couldn't believe it was England :-D

When we were in Europe it was so hot and quite uncomfortable at times. When we boarded the ferry in Calais it wasn't too hot but it was sunny. We went on the deck to look at the white cliffs as we were nearing Dover and it was cold and overcast. We couldn't believe the weather had changed so much.

Tecwyn Report 3 Jul 2013 23:09

You wouldn't get much of a sun tan here in a normal summer,

That's what they mean about the "English Rose" complexion - pale and translucent.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 3 Jul 2013 23:05

Isn't that typical - the last two visits to the UK have been wet and cool. It's a good job we don't visit to top up our suntans :-D
