We would very often welcome 15 C in July Sue.

It was 27 in London today. and expected hotter tomorrow. 24 for us, which is warm enough for me.

I had to go into town today for another blood test, and it was filling up with visitors - so looks like being a busy weekend here.

OH has also uses chicken pellets on his veggie garden when he prepares the ground for new crops.

21C is rather warm for a July day Tec - it's usually a very cold 15C :-D

We also have Osmocote.

I had a compost tumbler once at my last house - haven't bothered here, but I might start a new one next Spring. Very worthwhile I know.

I also use chicken manure, in the shape of pellets. A bit smelly, and go mouldy if you don't work them into the soil - excellent for shrubs

We have Miracle Grow here too, Tec. I use a product called Osmocote. They are slow release granules and are mixed into the soil.

One of the best things OH bought is the compost tumbler. We get an almost constant supply of compost as everything breaks down very quickly. OH uses it mainly for the veggie garden and the soil there is beautiful. I redid some of my garden in the backyard and used some of the compost on that. In the past we have bought mushroom compost which is very rich but this homemade compost is very good.

Glad you enjoyed the sunshine Sue - don't know how you can call 21 C a winter temp :-) Hope today is just as nice for you.

Good the geraniums are showing new life - my last years plants are amazing, much better than they were last summer - they have responded really well to feeding with a product we have here called "Miracle Grow" it's added to water.

Hello Tec :-)

Yesterday was sunny and it reached 21C. We sat on the front verandah and read for a couple of hours. The phone didn't ring and we had no visitors other than a couple of neighbours calling out "hellos". By the afternoon a wind came up and the temperature dropped. I hope today is just as nice.

I took your earlier advice about cutting straggly geraniums back to almost nothing. Already they are showing new growth as they get sun for most of the day.

Hello :-)

Good Morning Sue,

It's been a real scorcher here - I've only just finished watering all my pots and tubs in front and back gardens.
Fantastic sunset over the sea and only just gone dark.

Hello Linda - Have fun in the paddling pool :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 5 Jul 2013 22:34

Ooooh, Persie, are you trying to fix a fight with Sue and the other Aussies?

I have put my entries for the Camera Club meeting last Monday on my FB page if anybody wants to see them.

Maybe Sue - wouldn't want to start a war down there :-D

I'm off to bed now,

Enjoy your day Sue - Go play in the sunshine - blow the jobs :-D

Hello Berona, and Persie, enjoy your day too,

Goodnight,
Tec.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 4 Jul 2013 23:36

Sounds good Tec but I think the Aussies would prefer Wallabies All Black :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 4 Jul 2013 23:29

You have a point - it is the British & Irish Lions, so why not a team drawn from Aus and NZ, but I don't think the Kiwi's would be happy being called the Wallabies :-D

So a new name would have to be chosen "All Black Wallabies"? :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 4 Jul 2013 23:24

There were some comments made about the omission of O'Driscoll. It seems to have surprised a number of people. I don't understand why the Wallabies can't combine some of the New Zealanders too.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 4 Jul 2013 23:12

I wish they had started that three hour London to Sydney service, I'd be over like a shot.
Thank you for offering that very smart spare room :-)

There are 10 Welsh rugby players in the team today, but I think Gatling has made a grave mistake leaving out the Irish player O'Driscoll. Our best play Warburton is already out injured.

I think the Wallabies will eat us today, then spit us out :-(
