Sue I'm sending you some hot sunshine :-) well you can imagine.

Sounds like the children had another good day out with you.
Fish and chips when out always taste better than they do at home,
There used to be pelicans on the Serpentine in London years ago, I don't know if they are still there.

Hello Amanda,

It must be good to have lots of "little helpers" in the garden. With your guidance they will all grow into knowledgeable gardeners, and you will benefit from their help in about ten years from now :-D

Hello Tec - yes please. I would love some warmth.

We took the children for a drive down the coast yesterday. It was lovely and sunny and not too chilly. We ended up in a small village by the water where they had a great time playing in the park and watching fishermen clean the fish. They loved it when the people threw bits of fish to the pelicans. We had fish and chips for lunch sat down by the water. A great day.

And now for a restful weekend :-D

Hello everyone :-D

Linda , I hope you manage to cool down after your toilling with the berrys . I managed to avoid the daily visit to the allotments but only because a mass of little ones appeared unannounced . OH came home with MORE broad beans and the first peas .

Hello Diane :-D it is good to see you here .

Huia , my computer is driving me bonkers :-| I'm running on vista and I don't think it has much brain left in it .....lol

Hello Sue , I hope you enjoyed your day yesterday . Yes , time does fly . Our Emily is all hyped up as she has had a couple of visits to school and starts properly in September :-0

Good evening Tec , I hope your blood tests go okay on Monday . I think you made th right decision to cancel if it that hot where you are , much better to stay home and keep cool if you can .

Berona , I hope your blood sorts itself out soon and that you are feeling better and have a bit more energy etc <3

It was quite pleasent here this afternoon after a cloudy start . I had a mixed bag of Grandchildren apearing over the day , for no other reason it seems than they like to hang about in Nannys garden :-)
Addison and Bella enjoyed a couple of hours of filling little pots with compost and spent rose petels , followed by chalking on the garden path .
Emily and Isla arrived just when I thought the coast was clear and I could resume my attack on the front garden boarder :-| Emily did end up helping me to plant some comfry so not all was lost .

For a change, we can send you some sunshine and warmth :-)

Hello everyone from a dull and very chilly part of Aus.

Nice to see you Diane and Huia - hope you are both well.

Is there nothing more frustrating than a computer that doesn't work properly :-| I have been tempted to throw this one out of the window a few times.

Linda - time does fly. I was talking to the young couple next door and they were telling me about the school they are hoping to get their little girl into. I said it was a little early yet and they said she starts next year :-0 and their little boy is 2.

Hello Everyone :-)

Been very hot again here today. I didn't do much as the heat is getting to me. Should have gone to town for a blood test, and supermarket, but cancelled the blood test until Monday, and will do shopping tomorrow hopefully.
I did clear up some of the dust off the furniture with a damp cloth, but the polishing can wait.

Linda you must be sunburnt out there picking raspberries all that time.

Diane I hope you have managed to get out in the sunshine.

Huia - Hope the computer can be fixed by the experts - a nuisance when the play up - the computer, not the experts :-D

Oh dear, I hope you get it sorted out Huia

It is so humid here that I think it will be difficult to sleep. I am off to set the fan up, so goodnight everyone when you arrive

Huia Report 12 Jul 2013 22:15

Hello everybody. I haven't been posting much as my computer is playing silly bees. I have trouble getting into my Hotmail emails since things were changed, and from that web page it does not want me to go to another webpage. I think I will have to take it to the experts one day next week, so if you don't see me posting you will know either that it has gone in to hospital or I have heaved it over a bank. :-|

Hello everyone :-)

well all this talk of how many years together with partners, I only made it to 5yrs and will probably never get any further :-(

Linda Happy anniversary for yesterday, did you do anything special. Sounds like you could open your own fresh fruit berry's stall.

Tec glad to hear the fireplace is in and you and the Duchess are pleased with the job, hope you soon get rid of all the dust.

Amanda, glad to hear Tommy's hand is improving and hope the anti-biotics help with the infection. Hope OH is recovering after his mishap with the garden fork.

Berona your thin blood is probably why you are feeling the cold, maybe once it has thickened up you won't feel the cold so much and be less tired.

Sue hope the day went well with the grand-children and the twin's didn't squabble to much.

Hello Sylvia, Huia and Carole, hope all is well with you.

Well coffee turned into chilled cava which was nice. The baby is twenty one weeks and slavering like mad. He sicked up on my dress, but that was fine.He turned bright red at one stage which usually means a nappy job, but nothing seemed to happen.

I then thought that my leg felt a bit wet, but just assumed it was slaver, only when I looked my dress was bright yellow due to a leaking nappy, so I had to come home to get changed :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Jul 2013 13:53

You and Tec are a real pair with your thin blood Berona. I forgot to ask if he is thickening up yet.

I spent nearly two hours picking Raspberries, it was horrendously hot. Given the price they are in the shops, I should be pleased, but I must admit that my heart sank when I saw how many there are. There are still zillions to come.

I am off for coffee next door to play with the baby who is twenty weeks now, how time flies.

Missed you again, Linda. Oh well, we'll catch up again soon. Hope your are enjoying the warm weather. I shouldn't complain as ours is much warmer than it should be for this time of the year, but I do like the heat. My latest blood test showed that my blood was too thin, so the dosage of tablets has had to be adjusted. In the meantime, I have been feeling the cold more than usual, but I'm glad the weather is dry and I think things are evening out now.

OH found a potato on the allotment yesterday Sylvia, left from last year, but only one small one.

We never fight as such, of course we have had disagreements over the years, but we have never raised our voices to each other.

I am off now to pick raspberries, I had better start on the Blackcurrants as well, but there are far too many. We will definitely take out one of the bushes and replace it with something else

Berona

Berona Report 12 Jul 2013 07:50

Sylvia - that must be the way you are - you suit each other. I know some couples who HAVE to have a fight now and again to make them appreciate each other.

My OH forgot my birthday TWICE!! but never forgot our anniversary because he said it meant more to him than my age. What could I say to that? and he always bought me a present and brought home flowers to celebrate, as well as dinner out, etc. We never had a fight or even a real argument. We 'discussed' everything and came to a mutual decision to suit both of us.

Hi Sue, and everyone

Tec ............... so glad that the fireplace is in, and that you both like it.

Congratulations to Linda for her anniversary ...................

we'll have our 46th next month

I sometimes wonder how we have stayed together all these years :-D

we've had some real barneys along the way, but somehow we have always made up before going to bed

we now have about 4 lbs of tayberries in the freezer, ready for winter eating .............. we only have 3 small bushes in our tiny garden, but they cropped heavily this year. I wish more stores would sell tayberries!

Plus, the local blueberries are coming in in quantities and cheap now, so we are starting to freeze those for winter use ................ I freeze them (as I did the tayberries) in a single layer on a cookie sheet, then put them in plastic boxes that hold 5-6 lbs.

You might laugh at this ................... OH was doing some double digging yesterday in a part of our small veggie patch (about 8' x 8') that he had left fallow in the spring

He found one potato, then a second, and a third ............ all "missed" last fall.

By the time he had finished, he had enough potatoes for at least 10 -12 meals :-D

I guess we are about to find out whether potatoes can be over-wintered in the ground :-D :-D

I do have to say that it was before he had his cataracts done when he dug the garden over last fall.

But I thought he had double dug all the patch this spring..

take care, everyone

Goodnight Linda and Amanda <3 <3

Tec - I have a funny story to tell. Our nephew rang from Western Australia last night and it was about 9.15pm here. I didn't recognise his voice and I thought he was someone selling something so I told him off for ringing that late at night and hung up :-D He rang back quite shaken to ask why I had hung up and was I angry with him. We had a good laugh when I explained why I was annoyed :-)

Sleep well Amanda, and Linda,

Hello Berona - and Persie.

Goodnight,
Tec :-)
