Well, they were very good, the neighbours were out as well, so we all had a natter.

:-D

Sunny outside but chilly. Yesterday morning Joel played rugby but it was too early for me. OH went off with a big jacket which he said he needed because it was quite cold. I was glad I stayed home even if I did have to catch up on housework. I'm still finding bits of paper and Lego around the house.

Don't get cinnamon toast crumbs on the keyboard :-D

Enjoy the fireworks :-)

Tecwyn Report 13 Jul 2013 22:45

Sue has disappeared again now - I hope it wasn't her ghost that went to make coffee - she may come back and deny she was here earlier :-D

It won't be burnt sausages, he has a super duper bbq and turns out good food

Firework time so out we go

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 13 Jul 2013 22:43

It was kind of you to help the confused looking man - maybe the sherry wasn't for the trifle at all :-D maybe his wife was hoping he would return with something far too good to go in a trifle - just a thought :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 13 Jul 2013 22:39

Well if you explained that you'd changed you mind, they may have decided to go as well after all - isn't life complicated? :-(
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the burnt sausages tomorrow :-D

Just remembered that I am strictly forbidden any alcohol at the moment :-\

When we went to the market today, I popped into the supermarket to get something. I rescued a very confused looking man who had been sent to get a bottle of Sherry by his wife. It was for a trifle apparently, but he had no idea what Sherry looked like or where to find it. He looked more like a beer drinker, anyway I took him to the right place and found him a cheap bottle

I only have champagne or some Cava, but the latter is to take tomorrow so you can't have that. We don't like gin, so haven't any of that either

LindainHerriotCountry Report 13 Jul 2013 22:35

This afternoon, I wished we were going, but it has been so dismal on other years. We are going to a bbq tomorrow afternoon at the home of the people who originally asked us to go with them. As we said we didn't want to go, they didn't go either,so I felt I couldn't change my mind in case they found out

Thank you Linda, but I'm not keen on red wine - white would be nice, or better still a G&T with ice and lemon :-)

Hello Linda, I expect Eve is finding the heat a bit difficult to cope with, as must her mother be at the moment.

What a shame you didn't get tickets for the concert - but not to know the weather would be so good.

I closed the windows a short time ago downstairs, but within no time had to open them again as it became stifling in here - so far nothing has flown in.

SueMaid Report 13 Jul 2013 22:32

I don't think I should drink red wine for breakfast, Linda :-0 I guess I'll make my own coffee :-(

LindainHerriotCountry

No coffee tonight, but there is red wine should you care for it

Hello Sue,

Yes the exceptionally hot weather certainly brings the tourists. There are caravan sites further along the coast, and I expect they are all full.
I don't really mind the tourists, even though they do cause problems. We have this lovely area to ourselves most of the year, and it's good to know the people from the cities want to share it with us for a few weeks of the year.

The sea was Mediterranean blue today, and like a millpond. I have never seen so many boats in the bay. Speed boats, cabin cruisers, sailing yachts, and fishing boats.
I think there may have been a regatta at Barmouth or Pwllheli

The very hot weather is set to stay for another week at least they say.

The children start their summer holiday in a weeks time - I hope the weather lasts for them.

I have just been talking to Eve on Skype. It is so hot that she has been up very late, but having a sleep during the day

The band is going for it tec, it sounds slightly odd because we don't get the full effect, not being directly in front of the massive speakers, the crowd are singing along and cheering so they must be good

Hello Linda and Victor :-D

Sounds like a nightmare Tec but I guess the good weather was bound to bring the tourists out. The school children go back to school this coming week so there will be lots of traffic on the main highway as people make their way home.

Linda - I wish we were sitting with you listening to the music and waiting for the fireworks.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 13 Jul 2013 22:03

Oh I wish I could hear the Queen tribute concert :-)

I am not keen on fireworks, never have been.

The good things is Linda that you can listen to the music from the comfort of your patio - sending OH to make coffee, or another liquid refreshment.

I have only just come in from watering the pots.

Went to the supermarket this morning - it was heaving. The population has quadrupled. Traffic jam in town (unheard of) nowhere to park. Queue for a trolley, and everyone in the store was hellbent on annoying me - and it is was silly hot,
Enormous queue at the checkouts.
I just wanted to go home - or anywhere else.

Rant over - Victor Meldrew :-D
