Hello everyone, I am just popping in for a minute with an update.
We had to leave for London yesterday morning with no notice at all.
My daughter had her second little girl at 7.30am yesterday morning, she was a month early, but weighed in at an impressive 8ib 6oz
The pregnancy has been problematic all the way through,so we are relieved that she has been born safely. I must thank Sue and Tec who have been wonderful behind the scenes supporting me as one problem after another appeared.
My daughter is fine despite the very fast delivery, she had been feeling very uncomfortable from the middle of the night, but when her waters brokeat 6.30 am,she knew things were imminent, so they made a mad dash for the hospital with Eve in tow and only just got there in time.
The baby is in an incubator in the neo natal unit undergoing lots of tests and xrays. Before she was born they thought that her oesophagus was not joined to her stomach, but they have managed to get a tube down so it is, there may be a constriction though. So far she has not been fed, she is getting glucose through a drip in her hand.
They were. going to try feeding her last night, but her breathing was causing concern,so she has been on oxygen all night. Her heart is over to the right and is a mirror image of what it should be,so they have been consulting with specialists from another hospital. This morning they decided her breathing was much better,so they are going to try feeding her this afternoon to see if everything is joined up correctly.
We went in to see her yesterday and are going again shortly. She has no name yet, just "my baby sister"
We don't know how long we will be down here, we are looking after Eve while her daddy is at the hospital

Hello Diane , I too loved your story of you Dads rose bush :-) When my Mum was on her last legs she made us promise to dig up her " beasts rose " ( as she called it , as it reminded her of her favorite fairystory ) , she didn't want it left there after she was gone :-( my poor OH nearly busted his gut digging it up but he managed in the end , I planted in my garden and it has since given me many beautiful deep red blooms , that of course bring her to my mind . It is heartening to keep these tender links <3 Carole , time passes so swiftly doesn't it , yet , it sometimes only feels like yesterday , I'm sure the ones that leave us , know we love them still :-)
Welcome back to the thread Marie / Zak . I'm sorry that you are being uprooted and hope that you find a lovely new home soon . I don't follow any sports , so can't help you with any news in that department :-S I don't know where Sue has got to either , I hope everything is okay with her <3
Hello Berona , I miss chatting to you but no doubt our clocks will be more reasonably spaced soon . I always think of you when I'm watering my pots .....lol
It isn't as hot here today in Norfolk , in fact I awoke to a smattering of rain , only drizzle but the garden looked a bit fresher for seeing it .
Tec , I hope you are coping okay today and that it is perhaps a bit cooler for you also ?

Hello to anyone listening. Yes, I'm still around. Not posting so much since I don't get out of bed early enough to catch everyone, but I pop in later and read all the posts. Welcome back Zack. Not sure that I remember you, but 'old age' is my mandatory excuse these days. I know the response time on this thread is very slow, but I think you hold the record for having an itchy trigger finger - NINE times!!!! I know what happens. I do it myself. I hit the Submit button and nothing happens. After waiting a while, I think I must have not hit it properly, so hit it again. Then, suddenly it responds twice. Only you can delete the unwanted posts (if you want to) by clicking on Delete at the top of your post.

Hello to Tecwyn, Lindain ,Amanda Berona and Diane,
i am Marie (Zack ) from Aust.I did post a few times on this post but it has been a long time since I have popped in. I loved your story about your dad's rose Diane ,I am like you each time I have shifted I have taken my special Plants with me. Sadly I am going to have to move once more as my daughter & son-in-law are splitting up. I have a cottage on their property which I designed and I have been living in for the past 6 years ( I thought I would be there until I died ) however things happen and I am now looking at going into a village,It is just one more adventure in my life and I am lucky I am fit and healthy and used to changes in my life.
I noticed you are all feeling the heat, well it has been raining for the past 2 weeks here, it is very cold and this weekend we are expecting SNOW so I would love some of your heat and sunshine.
I am making you a wish about your weather but I cant' tell you exactly what it is. Does Berona still post on this site?
I must go as I need to get to the chemist before they close. We are having a visit from Manchester United there is a game on to-night with a Mixed team of our players, no doubt we will get beaten . How Is the cricket going I haven't been watching it as I follow the Le Tour de France,
It was 2am before I got to bed last night I am hoping Froome will will. Bye for now Marie :-)

Hello everyone :-)
Tec and Amanda I love reading about how your gardens are doing and I am very envious but happy for you that they are doing so well :-)
Amanda that is nice to have the carnation plant and I hope it does well in the coming year's. My dad gave me a cutting off one of his rose bushes about 20yrs ago, I planted it in my garden as he adviced and it grew into a lovely rose bush, when I moved house I dug it up and planted it in my new garden and it continued to do well then when I moved again into this flat I had to put it into a very big pot and put it on my veranda but it wasn't doing well so I asked my sister if she would take it and plant it in her garden. She did and it is doing very well, last year when my dad died, the morning of his funeral she noticed there was 2 rose buds on the bush so she cut them off and put them in a vase next to a picture of my dad and spent some time in the room playing Shirley Bassey songs in memory of my dad ( he loved her ). That rose bush is the last remaining one that came from my dads rose bushes from the front garden of our family home and means so much to myself and my sister.
Tec, how is the paper stripping coming on, or have you had to come to a halt with the weather being so warm and you having very little sleep because it is so muggy through the night.
Hi Sue and Berona hope you have a nice day :-)

Well I am so hot sitting here, that I'm going to sit on the back yard. I may stay out there all night if it's civilised :-D I can watch moths and bats, and creatures of the night.
Sleep well Amanda, if you can,
Goodnight, Tec - who is about to spontaneously combust :-D

Tec , I have never grown any carnations before . I have kept it in a big pot as I don't think it would get much chance in my boarders . I think the fact we haven't actually had any rain might have helped , the blooms are pristine :-D
I'm pleased for you about your Agapanthus .

No breeze Amanda - not a breath of air. it's very still and humid.
Well done with the white carnation, nice to have that as a momento of your daughters wedding. I've never had any luck with that.
I am delighted that some of the agapanthus that have never flowered before are apparently white ones, not open yet, but the buds are showing white.

Good evening Tec .
It sounds very muggy where you are , I hope you pick up a sea breeze to cool you down . I may as well have odd knees to match the rest of my body , I look like a patchwork person made from various shades of brown , fawn and pallid white :-S
I like the sound of your unintentional patrotic garden , charmimg :-D
I have a white carnation just come into bloom today , it was from the " button holes " that I made when my daughter got married last year , there was one possiable cutting and it struck :-D I am very pleased :-D
