I suppose it was too much excitement having the rain to play in.

Berona, when my children were small and I was attending fitness classes at the community centre and one woman there had a little bloke in a pushchair named George. I thought you don't call a little person George.. I had several old uncles called George, William and Frederick so only associated the name with an older person. If I went back another generation there were a few with Solomon in their names.

Have been without my Internet all morning.
I was a little surprised that the baby was named George. Although, a 'Royal' name never seems to die out. I remember how hilarious we thought it was when Charles was born. Everybody seemed to have a great uncle Charlie - nothing younger, and definitely Charlie - not Charles. However, it's surprising how many men I now know who were born within the next decade - and named Charles. - No Charlies!.
Similarly, we knew no Williams until Prince William came along. Plenty of "old Bill"s who were probably named after their fathers - but now we seem to have a lot of young men in their twenties, who are named William. (and definitely not Bill).
So now, we can expect that George will come back into fashion again.

Diane - your grand-daughter will just miss my son. He is flying out next Thursday, with a few friends to go to Liverpool, Ireland and Ibitza. He has cousins in those places (on my OH's side).

It is still hot here ........... although perhaps not as hot as in parts of England.

It has been around 26C in the shade in my back garden for several days.

We have now had sun and high temperatures for 27 or 28 straight days .................. pretty unusual for Vancouver!!! But it is also humid, as we are at sea level.


Linda ................. hope the little one continues to improve, and gets the hang of feeding soon..

Yes he has been named - George Alexander Louis....HRH Prince George of Cambridge. Such a long name and title for a little fellow.

Sue - George is very traditional for the Royal family - he will be King George VIII if Charles takes George VII as is believed.

Amanda - I can get irritated :-D that lady irritates me because she is so gushing, tries to be posh for some reason, when you know it's false, and asks some quite personal questions :-(

Diane , I don't see either of the programmes as OH is usually glued to something loud and gorey :-( or loud and fishing . Robsen Green springs to mind there :-| if I had to go fishing I swear I'd push him over board :-P

I'm surprised that the new Royal baby doesn't have the names Philip and Charles. I do like his name but it seems such a long name for such a little boy.

I wonder what Linda's new little granddaughter will be called? I think Alexandria Victoria Charlotte :-D
