Oh, my sincere apologies to Diane and Amanda. I can only plead tiredness, and being too lazy to look back over the pages to see who I had missed. I had a feeling there were more. :-0

Hello everyone :-)

Berona I'm sorry not to have responded to your post on "25 Jul 2013 02:57"
about your Son visiting Liverpool, Ireland and Ibiza. Is your son coming to Liverpool this coming Thursday 1st August, my grand-daughters will be returning to Liverpool from Ibiza on that day.
I hope he enjoys his visit in Liverpool, I don't know if he has ever been here before but if he has and it is over 7yrs ago he will see a big difference.

Sue I saw the photo's on FB of the chairs, they are lovely and will look good on your patio, just need to sort the seat of one of them, you could make it into a commode chair :-D

Linda I hope little Esme Jade is improving and taking her feeds better and your daughter isn't to tired after the birth <3

Tec hope you and the Duchess are sleeping ok, it was a lot cooler last night with a lovely breeze here and we have had thunder storms with some well needed rain so it is not a humid as it has been :-)

Hello Huia nice to see you :-) hope you do well with your photo's at the camera club.
BTW you forgot about me and Amanda not being one of the Aussie's on here :-(

Carolee I hope you survived the driving lesson with your son :-)

Hello Jem, welcome to the Aussie thread were you will find us as friendly on here as they are on the Welsh thread.
Huia missed Amanda and me out of the none Aussie's on here :-(
Amanda live's in Norfolk and I live in Liverpool, I was born in LLangollen Wales and that was why I originally joined in on the Welsh thread, I joined in on this one to see if anyone could help me find my Half brother in Austrlia and liked the peeps on here so stayed :-)

Sylvia I hope your OH is ok after his wasp sting :-(

Hello all. and welcome to Jem (if she comes back to see us).
Pleasant looking day again. Sunny, with very little wind - but 10c when I rolled out this morning. We were promised 21, but I don't think that has happened. However, it's still much higher than is normal for this time of the year, so can't grumble.

I have now decided which photos I will be putting in to the camera club in 8 days time. I just have to get some printed and then I have to mount them all (hoping the woman in town can make another frame for me before next Friday).

I spent a couple of hours this afternoon baking two lots of biscuits. I haven't done any baking for over 4 years but they seem to have turned out ok. At least the ones I have sampled haven't killed me yet.

Hello Jem, when you come back on. We are not all Aussies on here. Tec is from Wales and Linda from Yorkshire, Sylvia lives in Canada as her name says, and I am from New Zealand. Persie sometimes joins us, and she is another Kiwi. I hope I haven't missed any of the non-Aussies.

Hello ladies :-D

You are welcome to join us anytime, Jem although you should be in bed :-|

Hope you OH is ok, Sylvia. I remember one of my boys getting stung by a few wasps when he jumped over a fence and knocked a nest down. It was on Christmas Eve and he spent a very in comfortable few days over that Christmas although he was on antihistamines.

Has your hair gone grey yet, Carole. I didn't manage too well with learner drivers - I left that to my Oh :-D

Carolee Report 28 Jul 2013 04:40

Hello Jem,

Welcome :-) Poor you.. I hope you manage to get some sleep :-)

Weather has turned quite nasty here...Gale force winds and looks like rain coming.

We shall head out soon, my son and I for our weekly driving lesson. He's doing quite well though I still manage to use my imaginary brake pedal!

Carole x

Edit.. Hello Sylvia :-)

Hi Sue, and everyone

Hi Jem!!

No rain here ................... still sunny, and they are now forecasting sun through until at least next Thursday

That means we will have had no rain since June 27 ................ I'm sure we have had previous Julys which have seen 0 mm precip, but no-one can remember!

OH got stung by a wasp earlier this evening ................ a man knocked on the door on Friday evening to tell us we had a "HUGE" wasp nest on the side of the house.

It actually wasn't the largest paper wasp nest we've seen ............... but it was attached to the side of the house and hiding behind the Viburnum "White Icicle". OH had been working in that border only a couple of weeks ago, and had not noticed it!

I didn't measure it, but I'm guessing it was probably about 9" or 10" deep and about 7" across at the widest point, plus about 3" or 4" deep to the wall.

Turned out we only had a small amount of Wasp and Hornet Spray, but OH sprayed what we had into the nest.

BUT he forgot to buy any more today ................ so he sprayed some water into the nest this evening

............... and one wasp came flying out, and stung him just under his left eyebrow very close to his nose! It was just above the frame of his glasses

He seems OK now, after a little bit of home treatment!!

It always seems a shame to have to destroy the paper wasp nests because they are just gorgeously made!

Sue ............ did you realise that you only have 11 posts to go after this one, and you will have reached 68,000 posts? :-D

take care everyone

Hi Everyone Down Under!

As my OH has had a few drinks and is now snoring his head off :-S - I thought I'd say hello to all our friends from Oz, seeing as you are probably the only ones awake!!! :-D

As I live in South Wales and you have a New South Wales I thought that I would Gate-Crash!!!! :-D :-D

How are you all? Jem :-D

Goodnight Tec - hope you and the Duchess can sleep well tonight <3

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 27 Jul 2013 23:47

I have spent years collecting all manner of things - my daughter just looks and rarely comments. Her face says it all :-D.

I also know that in the end there will be a row of skips outside to cart everything off to the dump.

But no matter - it was fun while I am alive.

Well bedtime again, I am hoping to climb the walls tomorrow (so what's new) :-D

Enjoy your Sunday Sue,

Hello Berona, Persie, and Linda if you look in,

Goodnight,
Tec :-)

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 27 Jul 2013 23:35

I would never say you are disturbed Tec :-0 :-D

Years ago I was given a lovely china milk jug and I found I couldn't resist certain ones I would see. I even managed to find a Susie Cooper one which I bought for a pittance. I also love old cutlery. However you can only have so many jugs and spoons. I do like cups and saucers and I have some very nice ones. I know what will happen when I have gone to the great antique shop in the sky - the lot will be tossed out :-(

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 27 Jul 2013 23:27

I've never been brave enough to try orchids.

You can never have too many chairs - unless you are in this house when you might think I am disturbed.

and you might be right :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 27 Jul 2013 23:22

Tec - I did have a quick look at a plant stall. Not many at this time of year but a man was selling orchids. Very healthy looking but I have enough orchids. Not that that matters - I have enough chairs too :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 27 Jul 2013 22:57

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 27 Jul 2013 22:55

Hello Sue - Your ride in the mountains sounds lovely on a sunny day, even if it was cold. To come home with two nice chairs would be the icing on the cake :-D

Whenever we went out for a ride we invariably ended up in garden centre, as I am incapable of passing them, so we always came home with plants - nowhere to put them of course :-D

Hello Huia - You are allowed to sleep in on a Sunday, especially in winter :-)

Huia

Huia Report 27 Jul 2013 22:49

Hello Tec. I slept in this morning so I have only just finished my breakfast (9.48 a.m.). I have a lot I want to do today, sorting out photos for the next camera club meeting. Must dash.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 27 Jul 2013 22:48

Hello Tec - the rain sounds lovely. Let's hope it's a refreshing downpour. The garden will certainly love it.

Huia - I bought two lovely cane and bamboo chairs. My poor OH was very obliging about getting them both in the car but he looked a little stunned :-D

It was very cold in the mountains yesterday but we had lunch in a very nice café and we were able to sit out in the sunshine.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 27 Jul 2013 22:11

It's raining at last. Nice gentle steady rain soaking the garden. The first proper rain we've had for a month - I can hear the garden sucking it up :-).

Naughty Sue? surely not :-D

Hello Huia - Hope you are well, and keeping warm.
