Hi Sue and Carole :-) :-)

You are all settling down for the evening, and we are all gearing up for the day ahead!!

We haven't had a thunder storm where I am (Llanelli South West Wales) unless I slept through it!! I know some parts has had it , and parts of England have had bad storms. It's quite pleasant here today. Sunny, but not too hot yet, with a breeze.

I miss living in the country village I grew up in, so I think it is probably lovely to live in a small town over there Carole.

How is your fridge Sue?

Hi everyone,

Jem its 8.20 in the evening in Oz. Huia is in New Zealand and they are ahead of us by a couple of hours.

Oh, I don't have nerves of steel regarding my sons driving lessons. I panic every time we venture out. Night time is worse cos I'm as blind as a bat and we live in a small country town and lighting isn't very good around these parts.

It's 8.10pm here on the east coast of Australia, Jem and it's thundering quite loudly and lightening over the mountains. No rain yet.

Huia - I look forward to seeing your photos on FB although I know the site doesn't do justice to photos posted there.

Good Evening/ Morning everyone- What time is it in Oz? :-)

Huia- Your photography sounds amazing!!! I've never heard of a Mollyhawk so I'm going to Google It now! :-)

I want to get a digital camera soon, so that I can take photos of my Grandchildren. I tried to take photos of the afore mentioned sparrows in the rainwater on my bin, with my old mobile phone through my window, but they kept flying away!!! :-S

Just noticed that you have been married for 54 years!! What an achievement! :-)

I have an awful lot of photos and want to get them all scanned onto my computer, but I am so busy with other things at present.

For our camera club on Monday night, the set subject is Triptych. I had a couple of frames made today for my 2 entries. One of the entries is "Water birds". I have a photo of a mollyhawk on the wet sand, and another (which I found I could reverse so instead of looking the same way as the mollyhawk it is looking the opposite way) of a seagull also on wet sand. The photo I am putting in the middle is of a group of sparrows splashing in water. My other entry is "Sky on Fire". 3 sunset photos, with clouds on the outer 2 looking like fire breathing creatures, and in the middle a photo of an orange sky with some small clouds. I will eventually put them on FB, but they wont look as good there as they do in the triple frames. :-(

Hi Sue-

I think it's a matter of gaining confidence, and not being frightened of it!!!
How are you?

I keep missing message while I'm typing!!! It's not been quite so warm today, and we have had some rain the last two days. We have a high Privet hedge with sparrows nesting init. Today they were splashing about in the rain water that had accumulated in the bin lid. They were so cute!! :-)
It is a bit humid tonight.

Hi Tec-

Until relatively recently I didn't know how to even put on a computer!! The thought of it terrified me!

I joined an ICT class in my Grandson's Primary School a few years ago, but to be honest, until my Grandson had to have a PC for secondary school work, I did not progress very much. I found I learned more by trial and error, once I stopped being so frightened of it!

My husband got me a Laptop for our Anniversary, so that I did not have to wait to use my Grandsons. I have just discovered it has a clever programme on it that crops, adjusts size and quality (eg red-eye). Many of my photos would not upload to my Keepsake, but now they do!!!

How are you doing Tec?

Our Posts crossed- Goodnight Tec :-)

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 30 Jul 2013 00:06

If I can do it then so can you Tec - we tend to do what we are interested in. There are many things I can't do on the computer and some things I can do quite well. Our Linda seems to be able to do everything :-D

Well this old dinosaur is retreating back into his cave for the night,

Enjoy your day Sue, and Berona, and Persie,

Sleep well Jemima, and Linda,

Goodnight,
Tec

Hello Jemima,

You sound like a very clever lady on your computer. I can't do any of those things.
I have to rely on a visit from my grand daughter to sort any photo's out for me.

I am a dinosaur :-0

SueMaid Report 29 Jul 2013 23:54

Hello Jem - you have been busy :-) I've been sorting out photos too and putting a lot of them on an external hard drive. It's time consuming but I quite enjoy it.

Is it still hot where you are?

Tec - as Drew would say - "sounds like a plan is in place, Grandma" :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 29 Jul 2013 23:53

No, I am not telling you off Sue - would I?

I just think that you may be a slightly misguided young lady to prefer dusting and polishing to ironing :-D

the plan should be -
Train your OH to do the ironing,
Pay someone to do the dusting, polishing, floor mopping,
You have time to potter in the garden, garden centres etc :-D

Hi to Everyone on the "To Iron or not to Iron" Debate Thread!!!!!!! :-D :-D

Been busy sorting out old photos-Uploading them from my printer to my Grandson's Computer (The printer is set up in his room for his homework), then emailing them to myself. Downloading again into my Laptop, cropping and reducing sizes to Upload Again to my Keepsafe!!!!!

It's taken me all night, so I haven't had time to read back properly or to think of anything interesting to say, sorry!! :-S :-S

Hope you are all well : :-) Love Jem <3

SueMaid Report 29 Jul 2013 23:43

Are you telling me off, Tec :-0 I see it as keeping the local economy going :-D

I actually enjoy dusting and polishing furniture and also don't mind mopping floors.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 29 Jul 2013 23:35

I also think it's outrageous that you pay someone to do the ironing - so I'm with your mother - though your mother may not like to be with me :-D To pay someone to do the cleaning and boring jobs is a different matter, but ironing is so therapeutic and relaxing

:-D

Hello Berona - Hope the vampire doesn't keep you waiting this morning.
The weather has cooled down here a little, but still very humid, although they are forecasting a return to hot weather at the weekend, 30C in the South.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 29 Jul 2013 23:29

Good morning Berona - how nice to be here at the same time :-) We are sadly not likely to get to 20C - we have a light wind blowing that is going to keep the temps. down. We went to Moss Vale and surrounding areas on Saturday - it was very cold.

Berona

Berona Report 29 Jul 2013 23:26

Good afternoon/evening/morning to all. Yes, I'm a little earlier to-day - although I would still like to go b ack to sleep - but it's blood test day, and since the lady got me out of bed on a previous occasion, I now get up earlier on those days.

Overcast, with 'possible' showers forecast, which usually means 'dull but dry' here. However, it is very warm for August. 'Might' reach 20c. That's very unusual. I would expect it to reach 12 to 14 to be normal.(Less if raining or windy).
