Good night Amanda sweet dreams <3

Sue the last time I went to see my dad one of his comment's always sticks in my mind and that was when I said the next time I come to see you I will try and bring your neighbour with me, his reply was " what makes you think I will be here " I replied " why were are you planning to be " he said "you don't realise how old I am" I now feel he knew it would be the last visit before he died

Tec it was the quilt cover and pillow-cases that I had to iron, sheet is a fitted one so creases disappear when fitted. I don't have to iron my other quilt covers as they seem not to crease just this one so must be a better quality of cotton.

Good night Tec sleep well :-)

Sue if your OH can not find good enough cane he could always use a piece of plywood and cut it into shape and fit it into seat groove I suppose :-)

Amanda how are the chuks doing, are they all friends now ?

Goodnight Tec - sleep well <3

Amanda - I remember sitting at the table with the family at my father's last Christmas and out of nowhere he said - "I'm glad the family are all together - I want this one to be special". I think he knew.

Just spotted you Sue - glad the geraniums responded to pruning. They usually do, my last years plants have been fantastic this year.

Well, must go, goodnight again :-)

Hello Sue and Diane :-)

Diane , I don't believe such eating places exist in deepest darkest Norfolk :-S but did you know that in medievel times they called snails " wall fish " , so they could get away with eating them on a Friday .
I hope your girls are soon home with all their tales to tell :-)

Sue , yes the first anniverserys are always the worst :-( I have been thinking back to last year and him saying to me " I don't think I'm going to make it to my next birthday " , of couse at the time I jollied him along but it is odd , almost as if he knew .

Well I'm off to my bed now - rather tired tonight.

Enjoy your day Sue - take care.

Sleep well Amanda, and Diane,

Hello Berona, Persie,

Goodnight,
Tec :-)

SueMaid Report 30 Jul 2013 23:12

I hope so too, Tec - but the forecast says otherwise :-(

Do you remember me asking you about cutting back my geraniums? I cut them right back so they looked like a pot of twigs. They are now getting new leaves and are looking very healthy :-)

My kangaroo paws are also looking very healthy because of the sun and rain.

Good Morning Sue - Hope the day brightens up for you :-)

Amanda - I don't think I'll turn into Tarzan, haven't got the physique these days, or any big trees to swing from :-D

Hello Diane, You know I like ironing, but I don't iron the sheets. I fold them neatly and by the time they get used they have no creases.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 30 Jul 2013 22:51

Hello Diane - nothing like fresh linen on the bed :-)

The chair hasn't been fixed yet as my OH isn't sure what to use to fix it. We don't have anyone in the area that supplies cane or bamboo. He thinks we may be able to find an old broken chair that has some decent bamboo he can use for the seat. If so it will be an easy job for him to do.

Hello all :-)

Linda you must be happy to be back home so you can have a rest, glad to hear little Esme is improving with her feed's and hope that she continues to improve. Your poor daughter must be shattered having to go to the hospital so many time's.

Tec I think all that snow and cold over winter and now having some decent weather helps a garden, many people I know have said how much better their garden's have been this year :-)

Amanda, you could sell all those snail's to a french restaurant and make some lovely money :-D
The grand-daughters will all be back on Thursday and I can't wait to see them and hear all about their hols :-)

Huia can't wait to see your photo's on FB, they sound lovely :-)

Sue has your new cane chair got a new seat in it yet, if or when it is done you will have to put a photo on FB of it so we can see the " before and after "

When I mentioned ironing my bedding the other night I didn't expect it to turn into a discussion subject :-D
As it turned out I didn't feel up to doing such a big job of ironing the bedding and then stripping and remaking my bed at that time of the night, but it is now done as I did it today so I'm looking forward to getting into it tonight :-D

Your quite right Tec , he wouldn't want me to be sad and I think I'll give the odd food combination a miss .

GR is playing me up this evening , I keep getting the eror message every two seconds , it is more like G Rrrrrrr , so I might disappear and save myself the frustration .

I hope you don't turn all " Tarzan " in your welsh garden with your jungle spray ..........lol

Hello everyone :-)

Linda - you must be exhausted. Get loads of rest over the next few days. I'm sure Eve will miss you.

The gardens sound lovely - amazing what a good downpour of rain will do after a dry period.

Amanda - I hope you are thinking happy thoughts of your brother. The first anniversaries are always the most difficult <3

We had a dry thunderstorm and then an hour later it poured. It's a little dull this morning but should be dry.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 30 Jul 2013 22:17

Glad your garden is looking good as well Amanda. I like to sit out there when I can, but something unseen is biting me to pieces. I bought something called "Jungle Spray" it does help a bit - little blighters :-D.

Tomorrow is bound to be a difficult day for you, but try to think of the happy things you may have shared with your brother. He wouldn't want you to be sad.
I'm not sure about the Ritz Crackers and the Love Hearts though :-)

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 30 Jul 2013 22:09

Hello Tec , your garden sounds splendid :-) I must admit my garden is looking more colourful than it ever has , which is very pleaseing indeed , usually by this time in the year it has lost the colour and looks mostly green .
I like the idea of the poppies self seeding , I shall make a point of speading the seed hither and yon .

Tomorrow would have been my brothers birthday , so I'm feeling sad and missing him :-( I ought to do something in his memory tomorrow , maybe eat a whole box of Ritz crackers and several packets of love hearts ( he did have a most strange diet at times .....lol ) .

Tecwyn Report 30 Jul 2013 21:53

Hello, :-)

Linda, Glad to see you back home. I expect Eve will miss her playmate now.
I hope the doctors can help little Esme to take feed properly soon.
Make sure you have a good rest, and don't be in too much hurry to leap out of bed in the morning.

Hello Amanda - Glad you have a Welsh poppy at last. they are difficult to get going, but once they do they self seed freely, popping up here and there, often where there is little else flowering.
We had quite a lot of rain at the weekend, and the garden responded very well.
I've never had such a colourful border as I have this year. The tree lily's are huge and magnificent, filling the garden with exotic perfume. :-)

Amanda2003 Report 30 Jul 2013 21:36

Good evening / Good day everyone .

Linda , I hope you can soon catch up on some much needed rest , you must be exhausted . I am pleased that your daughter is well and the news regarding Esme is encouraging . I am sure she will soon gain strength , it sounds as if she is in good hands ... bless her <3

Diane , I'm glad to hear your Grand daughters are having a fine time :-D

Tec , I have to say I have a Welsh poppy out in flower at last in my garden ..... and it has rained today so the whole garden is looking refreshed and perky . I also have about a million snails and slugs in a bucket :-0 :-|

Hello Jem , on the subject of ironing I gave it up years ago , I decided it was my contribution to the enviroment to cease :-D

~~~~~ to Sue , Berona , Persie , Huia , Carole and Sylvia .
LindainHerriotCountry Report 30 Jul 2013 20:21
Hello everyone, I am back home after my ten day jaunt down south. I am absolutely shattered, so will turn in early this evening.
My daughter is fine, but Esme is still in the special care unit. She is managing to take a small amount of milk by mouth, but is mainly being fed by a tube into her stomach. They have done lots of tests on her, but have not identified anything yet. The consultant my daughter saw this morning said that they are going to wait another seven to ten days to try and get the feeding established before they do anything else, they said the same thing last week, so it is obviously going to be a longish haul.
Esme is being fed every three hours, my daughter goes in to do the 9am. 3pm amd 9pm feeds, the staff do the rest. It is very tiring for my daughter especially as she is supplying the milk,so has to wake up during the night to do that.
I have managed to read the thread, but didn't have time to add to it, I was too busy playing with Eve
