How did I ever get drawn into this absurd conversation? :-(

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Aug 2013 21:41

Definition of bun : ... n small rounded bread either plain or sweet. Synonyms: roll.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 5 Aug 2013 21:36

Bun............Small soft round sweet cake, often with dried fruit.

Roll...........Small individual portion of bread separately baked.

Bloomer..........Long rounded loaf with diagonal marks on top

Bap..........Soft flat bread roll.

Oxford Dictionary.........

I do not need re-educating thank you - while not achieving any remarkable academic heights - such education as I did have has served me reasonably well so far - I do at least know the difference between a bun, and a bread roll.

Oh well, I shall just eat the toast myself. I have kept it simple tonight Tec, just in case I confuse you again.

THANKYOU EVERYONE,:-)

THANKYOU ALL SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR CONCERN AND KIND WORDS.

Baby has been passing water today, which they say is a positive sign. It's day 4, so he is obviously a little fighter :-)

Keep the "banter" going for me to have a needed laugh tonight!!!!!! :-D

Love to all of you- Sue, Linda, Tec, Diane, Sylvia, Berona, Persie, Huia and anyone I have left out on the Australian Thread.
Love Jemx <3

I have probably missed you all :-(

I needed to go to the post office to send something to a lovely friend.

The rain stopped hammering down just long enough for me to get there and back

OH picked lots of beetroot yesterday, so I will cook and pickled that this afternoon.

Hello/goodnight to all. Jem, I feel so much for your daughter and you and the family. It must have been distressing last time, when she lost the baby and now to be facing all the problems that this little one has, must bring it all back to her. All you can do is support her and I hope we can, in our small way, support you, too.

I'm afraid you all lost me in your talk of buns. We have long bread rolls, hamburger buns, hot cross buns and hot dog rolls. Buns are a softer texture than rolls, which are more solid in substance. However, just to make it hard to understand, our hot dog rolls are soft! Is that clear?

To-day has been warm inside and sunny outside. However a slight wind was quite cold. Temp reached 20. Tomorrow is forecast for 23. In August?? Hard to believe.

Hello Persie - you've just missed our Linda :-(

Persephone

Persephone Report 5 Aug 2013 10:49

Jem, I can well understand your daughter being distraught with having one still-born and now going through this.

The restrictions put on your daughter and SIL probably only exacerbate the situation, I thought we had moved on from this sort of carry on. Mental anguish can play havoc.

As Tec says it is hard to grasp sometimes the way things happen.

Take care thinking of you..

My daughter was told that there would be so many things that Aimee wouldn't be able to do so it's good when she proves them wrong. Her mum makes sure she does well.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Aug 2013 10:36

That is good Sue, it is nice when they master new skills . Eve isn't bothered about the scoot along bike she got for her birthday, she likes peddling her trike at the moment

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 5 Aug 2013 10:21

I would rather be reading :-)

Yesterday OH helped my SIL put together a bike for Aimee. When we went over this afternoon she couldn't wait to show grandad that she could ride it. Her coordination is really quite good and can pedal well.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Aug 2013 10:11

A productive day I suppose, but reading would have been better.

Seeing the twins would be nice of course

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 5 Aug 2013 10:06

I actually gave the bathroom a really good clean and sorted out a cupboard that I don't often go in. We went over to see the twins for an hour as today is actually their birthday.
