I asked for Grandma and got it :-) My daughter's three call their other grandmother Nana and their step grandmother Nana Kay. We were all together for lunch on Saturday and no-one gets mixed up or left out. That's down to my daughter and the effort she puts in.

Oh I agree, Linda - one must show some class ;-)

Writing in a journal is good :-)

Joel thought he could have the day off school yesterday because it was the twin's birthday. He was put off that idea very quickly :-D

I occasionally enjoy a provincial doorstop with cheese and pickle :-)

Diane Report 5 Aug 2013 23:07

Anyway enough of my moan's, lets discuss something more light hearted :-)

Tec I always wanted my grandchildren to call me Nin ( or Nain as you spell it ) when I was in a children's home one of the other girl's use to call her Grandma Nin and told me that's what they said in Wales, so when my first grand-daughter was born that's what I wanted her to call me but my daughter didn't like it and told them to call me Nanny or Nan :-( the eldest grand-daughter knows I like Nin and always signs my cards with Nan and Nin in bracket's, and when her mum isn't in earshot calls me Nin :-D

One must slice the bread thinly for the cucumber sandwiches Sue. Door stops are so provincial

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 5 Aug 2013 23:01

You can have some if you like Linda - not sure you'll like it :-)

That's how it works here too, Diane.

I always have a loaf of bread and some bread ROLLS in the freezer. We don't eat a lot of bread and I hate wasting it. I also like very thick sliced fruit bread for toast. We now have a bread in the supermarket called Texan Sliced. It is really thickly sliced. My daughter picked up one by mistake and she said she couldn't possibly make sandwiches for the children with the slices.

Diane, as Sue says, it is so important to get that anger and pent up emotion out of your system.

A good way to do this is to write it all down - like a story. Write about what happened, and when. How you felt, then and now. Don't leave anything out, however painful to recall.
To do this is quite cathartic, and will drive out many demons that you carry with you.
What you want to write may take a long time, but you will feel better for it.

:-D :-D Linda thank you again for the giggle, you are welcome to some of mine, though if you had it you would throw it back at me :-D

Diane

Diane Report 5 Aug 2013 22:55

Linda I have more bread ( none sliced from As..a bakery ) in my freezer than anything else, why pay £1-30p for a large Farmhouse loaf when you can buy it around 8pm for 20p, I got a fresh apple pie from the bakery the other week reduced from £1 down to 30p :-D

Sue I think it is the thinking and talking about things that make's my feel so drained after a session not how I feel about my counsellor " who is a she "
I have to admit when I first went I wasn't happy to hear that the session's are offered on a time basis of 10 session's, I felt a bit like a number not a person but that is how it is done :-(

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Aug 2013 22:48

I feel left out here, can I have some pent up anger as well please :-)

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 5 Aug 2013 22:44

I hope your counsellor is helping you Diane - getting that anger out into the open is the most important thing. It's pent up anger that causes depression and all sorts of physical stuff as you know.

Diane

Diane Report 5 Aug 2013 22:39

Tec, I didn't sleep to good last night as I had things going round in my head ( no funny comments please ) and today talking about this stared up all sorts of emotions about these thoughts, so after it all it just made me feel that way. It is about pent up anger, frustration and hurt that I have towards certain people.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Aug 2013 22:39

Of course, I have reverted Tec and make all my own bread, that doesn't come sliced :-)

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 5 Aug 2013 22:36

I'm going to make the coffee now :-)

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 5 Aug 2013 22:34

Do you know?

I can remember life before sliced bread, and remember how revolutionary it seem when it first came out :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 5 Aug 2013 22:34

Hello Diane - sorry you've had a tough day. I was thinking the same as Tec - I wouldn't think that you should be feeling mentally drained after seeing your counsellor. Do you like him/her and feel comfortable talking to him?

Aiden calls him Italian grandparents Nonna and Nonno. I get instructions should I not pronounce the names properly :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Aug 2013 22:33

You can get some good bargains that way Diane. they are still in date and if you freeze them, they are just as good as full price. I always buy fish from the reduced cabinet, they really mark it down

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 5 Aug 2013 22:28

These days I feel like something that came in with the tide Linda :-D

Diane if after a session with your counsellor you feel mentally drained - is she/he doing their job properly? just a thought.
