Hello Jemima, Sorry that your meteor spotting wasn't more successful, but sounds like you had a fun anyway. I guess a night spent on the beach is better than a night on the tiles :-D
It is very overcast here tonight.

Glad to hear that your new Grandson has come home, hope that he continues to make good progress.

That is excellent news that your grandson is home Jem.

I don't know how you manage to stay up all night, I need my sleep. It is very overcast here tonight,so no chance of seeing anything

Hi Everybody :-D

Meteors- Not even Low flying ones!!! :-D

Left here about 1ish. Drove first of all about 4 miles to a carpark near the darkest part of the coastal path, near BurryPort. We realised we would have a long walk to the beach part with deck chairs, so we decided to go to Ferryside, which is the Village I grew up in on the Towy Estuary overlooking Llanstephan and it's castle.

We stopped for a while on the hills between Kidwelly and Ferryside where it was really dark, but it was very overcast. Same in Ferryside. We did think we occasionally saw something that might have been meteorites but difficult to know for sure because of the heavy clouds.

Still, It was fun sitting on the beach in the middle of the night in deckchairs with fleece blankets!!! :-D Lovely looking at the boats on the water and the lights of Llanstephan reflecting on the sea. It felt like a nostalgic adventure.:-)

We got home 5.30! Did consider trying tonight but it's still very cloudy! :-|

Did Sue manage to see anything in Oz?

Glad Esme had a good night at home Linda :-) Our baby came home this evening too :-) Hopefully see him tomorrow.

Tec- Sorry that you are still suffering. Hope you feel better soon.

Berona- Did you visit to see the coronation from Australia, or were you living here then?

Hello Sue, Gosh that must have been some wind to blow the trampoline over the fence - good job there was no real damage.

Berona said that 24 C was forecast for her area - I asked if she was watching the right region :-D obviously she is, so I expect to get my knuckles rapped.

Now - I might be nervous if Berona was after me, but I'm definitely not scared of you two pussy cats :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Aug 2013 22:05

If the trampoline is not damaged, you will have to peg it down so it doesn't go visiting again

Hello you two :-) I heartily agree with Linda, Tec. Lots of rest and no decorating :-| Don't pretend you're not scared because you know you are :-D

What an odd day we had yesterday. It was warm - 22C -and very windy. I decided to sit and do some craft but of course that didn't happen for long. My daughter rang up and asked if we could go down and help with their trampoline that had blown into the next door neighbour's garden :-0 Straight over the fence and landed up against the pool fence. We dismantled it and threw the pieces back over the fence into our daughter's garden. No damage thank goodness but it was a bit of a drama. When the neighbours came home my SIL went over to talk to them and they all inspected the place but everything was fine except for one plant in the garden around the fence and they weren't too bothered with that.

It is cloudy again tonight, but you can go out if you like

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Aug 2013 21:48

I wondered about that too. I expect my daughter may have been watching for them. She is into all that, and where she lives there is hardly any light pollution.

She has had me sitting in the garden at unearthly hours on more than one occasion :-(

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Aug 2013 21:45

Well Sue will be awake soon, so we shall see.

i wonder if Jem saw any meteors last night?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Aug 2013 21:43

Yes - I'm positive :-D and I'm not scared either.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Aug 2013 21:40

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Aug 2013 21:38

I would find it highly amusing to defy you two :-D oh what fun

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Aug 2013 21:34

You need to be behaving totally, not mostly. I am sure Sue will agree with me as well.

You wouldn't want to defy us now would you :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Aug 2013 21:31

I can't do any decorating :-0 it's impossible standing on one leg. I did manage to slowly empty the glass display cabinet today, ready for moving it when I can.
Apart from that I had a lazy day, just seeing to meals, so as you can see, I am behaving :-D mostly.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Aug 2013 21:27

Well, I will be stern with you - no decorating until you are better

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Aug 2013 21:24

My nurses are perfectly lovely girls, who have been "dealing" with me for years, so I doubt they will be stern with me :-D

Tecwyn Report 12 Aug 2013 21:15

Berona - Are you sure that you're watching right the weather forecast for your region, and not that for QLD? or even further North :-D
It was 16 C here today, 10 degrees cooler than a week ago.

It was a nice bright day here Linda, but cool. We had a short sharp shower at about 5pm.
Glad to see that Esme's first night at home was a success, and that the feeds were not a problem.

I have an appointment at 2pm tomorrow with the nurses, who will deal with me.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Aug 2013 19:33

I didn't see stars Berona :-D

Esme is fine, my daughter said the night feeds were fine, but they haven't had any test results today

It wasn't bad here this morning, I walked into the square for a couple of things. I needed to go out this afternoon, but I chickened out because it kept tanking down. OH did go out and got caught in it. when he got back his trousers were soaking up to his knees

Berona

Berona Report 12 Aug 2013 12:10

So, how was all the star-gazing? Did you see what you hoped you would see?

Last time I stayed up all night was when I sat on a doorstep in Trafalgar Square waiting for the Coronation - and I promised myself I would never do it again.

Good to know that the babies are going home. I hope mothers are able to cope with them and their special needs - and that the mothers get their sleep!

We were promised an unusual day to-day (24c in winter!). Don't know what kind of medicine the weather man was taking - but it was dull, cold and windy!
