Goodnight Tec, Sleep well

JemimaFawr Report 12 Aug 2013 23:37

When we first saw foxes in our street Sue, I thought it was great. But I couldn't sleep one night and in the early hours I saw a fox in our garden and also a little cat that used to sit in our garden. I did not see her again and it has upset me. I am trying not to think badly of foxes as it is nature, they have to live too, but they should not really be in residential areas.

I hope you don't often get kangaroos, Tec :-0 Goodnight <3

We live about half a mile from Penclacwydd (Llanelli Wildlife and Wetlands) They have all sorts of water birds such as flamingoes there. I used to go there when my Grandson was little and my daughter goes there quite a bit now.

There are Red Kites in the Brecon Beacons. We go walking there sometimes. I have also seen Herons in Pembrey Country Park and Ferryside. And I love goats!

When the ferret came into our garden we had Shep. He came running into our living room doing his Lassie Impression - "Come on Come and see" jumping back and forth and would not stop until we went out to see what the matter was! :-D He was so gentle with any animals. The owner of the ferret was in the lane looking for it!

I'm playing Trevor Howard to Rambling Rose's Celia Johnson on her leaving thread :-D

I don't often get kangaroos in my garden Sue :-D

Well I'm off to bed now,

Enjoy your day Sue - hope the wind has dropped,

sleep well Jemima,

Hello Berona and Persie,

Goodnight,
Tec :-)

SueMaid Report 12 Aug 2013 23:21

I'm fine thank you, Jem :-)

We see a lot of birds here as we have a large bushland area behind our house. We have also planted bird attracting shrubs in the garden.

We have some fox in the bush - not a good thing as they are introduced and are therefore a menace. We also have small wallabies and some kangaroos. We don't see them really but we know they are there.

Sue if your Government are anything like ours, they spoil most things that make sense, or are working too well :-(

Jemima you have quite a lot of wildlife around you. We get foxes on the mountain, and the wild goats come down off the tops in bad weather. They look magnificent with their white shaggy coats and big horns. We also had an escaped ferret living under the shed. I thought we had rats :-D.
We often see the heron by the river, and there are lots of birds, including buzzards and red kites. I feed the birds every day with wild bird seed.

Yes, we enjoy watching the wildlife, and wildlife programmes. We have foxes coming into the gardens here, and I live in a housing estate. We have had squirrells, hedgehogs, an escaped ferret, lizards and all sorts of birds.

One day at Pembrey Country Park I sat quietly sideways in the car with my legs outside on the ground, and I became surrounded with grey squirrells. These were slightly wilder than the ones that live nearer the childrens park where I suppose they are fed by families.

Hi Sue, how's you?! :-D

It is a good organisation, Tec. I just hope the government doesn't spoil it.

Goodnight Linda <3

Hello Jem :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Aug 2013 22:54

Goodnight Linda - sleep well.

Jemima - Worth sitting up all night, if only to watch the wildlife :-)
There is a place a few minutes walk from me where the badgers are to be seen near their set if you're there at the right time of night.

I think babies are born with an amazing sense of survival, and often overcome problems, with a little help of course. Your daughter must be so pleased to have the baby home.

I know it is early, but I am turning in again. I must be getting old, I can't stay up these days

Goodnight everyone

Tecwyn Report 12 Aug 2013 22:40

No, better not mention the Ashes Linda :-D

Coffee and tea cake ready.

Sue the SES sounds a good organisation. There used to be something here in the dark ages, called the Civil Defence, don't know what happened to them, but they always turned out if there was some kind of emergency.
We don't have anything similar to the SES here, although people always help each other at times of disaster such as flooding etc.

JemimaFawr Report 12 Aug 2013 22:36

Yes, he's home safe and sound! You were all right about babies being tough little things. Thanks everyone.:-) :-)

No we didn't see the meteorites, but we did see about 5 foxes and a rabbit! Not together thankfully! :-D :-D

If I had a team like your, I would go right off cricket as well :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 12 Aug 2013 22:33

You can mention the Ashes all you like, Linda. I've gone right off cricket :-(

Sorry....the SES is State Emergency Service. They are a huge mainly volunteer group that help in emergencies such as floods, bushfires and other disasters. They generally secure things like blown off roofs until you can get it fixed or remove dangerous trees etc.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Aug 2013 22:26

What is SES Sue?

Tec, should we mention the Ashes?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 12 Aug 2013 22:23

Sounds like fun, Jem - and lovely that your little one is home with his family where he belongs.

No we didn't sit outside last night - it was very windy. The wind caused quite a bit of damage in our area. The SES were kept busy. OH has already been outside to check for any damage but being on a hill the house next door seems to protect us. There are loads of trees in our area and there are branches all over the road.
