Hello Sue, How are you today?
and I am not attempting to "butter" you up, merely asking.

Jemima, Thank you for your kind offer of a sherry, but I'm a devout gin drinker - a habit I got into many years ago.
Sherry goes straight to my head, and I'm half cut in minutes, whereas gin has no effect :-D

Oh Sue- you have spoiled an illusion!!! Daphne from neighbours was my favourite! :-(:-D
Did she say strewth?

OH says- don't worry - he's doing it!! Kettle on as we speak!!! :-D :-D

Don't believe Sue, she is a typical Aussie. The hat with the corks dangling from it has to be seen to be believed

Amanda2003 Report 15 Aug 2013 22:40

Hello Sue :-)
Is " strewth " supposed to be an Aussie word then ? My old Uncle Harry used to say that word and he certainly wasn't an Aussie gentleman :-)

Well- we may as well all be on diets- OH is watching "Wicked Tuna" on Nat Geo channel. He's into all those types of reality programmes! Looks like I'll have to do the honours! :-D:-D

It is not true that I have ever ogled Linda reclining on a beach - :-(

Sherry would be nice thank you.

I have the thread standards to uphold you know. I make all my own bread, baking, jam, chutney etc. I even got Tec making bread.

The tablet isn't so bad for the typing, but it needs wi fi. Some hotels don't have it, so I have to use my kindle and that is when the typing really goes haywire.

Tec , the tension on a machine can be a blasted nuisence , I've never really got the hang of which tension for what type of fabric . I do know that synthetic thread tends to snap if your sewing natural fabric ( ie cotton , linin etc ) .
Your a clever fellow , so I'm sure you will work it out given time , I admire the fact that your having a bash at it :-)

Hello everyone :-D

How funny - Linda goes to bed then turns up again :-) I look forward to the typos.

Lovely to hear that the babies are coming along well.

Jem please don't think all Aussies are like the ones in the soapies. I've don't say 'strewth' and nobody I know does :-D

No thank you Jem , I'm having a hot flush as it is , better not add sherry to the situation or I'm start to glow ......lol

Tecwyn Report 15 Aug 2013 22:34

Amanda when I tried the machine last time I was getting the hang of threading it, but then the cotton kept breaking because I couldn't get the tension right :-(
but as I now have to sit about a lot I can devote more time to it.

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 15 Aug 2013 22:33

Hi Linda-
Doesn't matter that they are not home-made- they are very good -they will cheer you up! :-) I may even have a glass of Harvey's Bristol Cream if you are interested :-)

Sorry you are not feeling well Linda. A lot of people have got sore throats here. Perhaps it's going round.

Who wants a glass of sherry? :-)

Amanda2003 Report 15 Aug 2013 22:31

Jem , I'm right on the coast ( near Gt Yarmouth ) , not sure where Cawston is , I'll have to google .
I have ancestors from Wales , my Nan was born in Newport ( Monmouthshire ) and Dad in Gil-Fach which is near Bargoed I believe .

Linda , it is heartening to know that Esme is putting on weight , I hope they get the results soon .

I posted a photo of the double beach bed Amanda but I certainly wasn't on it. I wouldn't want to give the poor man appoplexy

Tecwyn Report 15 Aug 2013 22:28

I just knew that Linda would reappear as soon as scones were mentioned :-D

I'm sure that you're decent Linda, so no need to avert my eyes.

Jemima - You won't know this, but when Linda goes on holiday she posts to us on her tablet. It's wonderful trying to decipher what she is saying as the wrong words appear - it's almost worth sending her away - I love it. :-D

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 15 Aug 2013 22:27

Tec , have you looked online for simple instructions about how to thread the machine ? they all follow a similar method , or at least they did when I worked in a clothing factory , many moons ago ....lol

I am pleased your grandson is coming on well Jem.

Some is almost back to her birth weight, but she is still on the 3 hourly tube feeding regime. They still haven't had the gene results

JemimaFawr

JemimaFawr Report 15 Aug 2013 22:26

Sorry Amanda - I forgot!! I'm still trying to remember who's who and who did what etc :-S

I have ancestors that were from Norfolk- Cawston. I have never been there though. I live in Carmarthenshire, S. Wales
